Nu Skin Description

Nu Skin is a network marketing company founded by Blake Roney, who is also the current CEO and president. This company sells skin care and personal care products through a multi-marketing system, using independent sellers. Affiliate sellers in the program can earn commissions through the direct sale of the products as well as percentage commissions from the earnings of the people that they recruit to sell under them.

Nu Skin Detailed Overview

Nu Skin Enterprises has been around for 25 years, which is the first good sign that it is stable and successful. Many network marketing companies tend to come and go, but a few make their mark and continue to thrive over the years. Having a good, quality line of products is the foundation that is necessary for this type of company to work, and running a close second is how much support it provides to its independent distributors.

Since its beginning in 1984, Nu Skin Enterprises has built an impressive line of skin care and personal care products under the name Nu Skin, but it also owns and sells products under a couple other brand names. Under their Pharmanex brand they sell dietary supplements. Their Big Planet brand of products consists of Maxvault, an online storage system, and Maxcast, an online video program.

Nu Skin Enterprises profits through the efforts of its independent distributors. As a distributor for the company, you can make a part-time income or a full-time income, depending on your goals and your dedication. You can choose to simply sell the various products for commissions, or you can recruit others to the program and build a downline. When you build a downline of distributors, you earn a percentage of what they sell as well.

To be an independent distributor at Nu Skin, you must commit to purchasing at least a minimum monthly package from the company. This is called your PSV or “personal sales volume”. You can keep the products for personal use or sell them. As people move up in the company to higher team leader and executive positions, their minimum PSV becomes higher, but so do their earnings.

Nu Skin Reputation

Overall, Nu Skin products enjoy a reputation for high quality among the people who use them. Independent distributors report that there is mostly good support within the company, though some people say it depends on who your sponsor is. The main complaints about being a distributor is that it can be difficult to make any significant income, but this is normal for networking marketing companies. Those who are dedicated, who have a talent for selling and who work hard at it can usually end up doing quite well.

Nu skin result varies from people to people

I firstly heard about Nu skin anti-aging products from my associate about a year ago. She said, she acquires the product from a catalog lady around 100 dollar plus bucks for the price of 30ml Nu Skin 180 Night Complex. So far she said the product is working well with her although she said it displays minimal results like a slight changes in her skin texture. Her skin feels a little firmer, smoother, elastic and it diminished some of her fine lines and wrinkles. Making her happy with the results.

On the other hand the friend of my mom who also bumped in the same product back then in Canada is saying about the contrary. For her using Nu Skin 180 Night Complex is just a waste of money and she doesn't get any dramatic effect nor any desired effect she is looking for after using the product. She said product doesn't contain Matryxil 3000 one of the main content she is looking in an anti-aging product. And she said lacking with this property she find the product ineffective in compare with other anti-aging products in the market. She discontinue the use of the product after a couple of months for she didn't get any significant results.

Hence, in my own humble opinion and own perspective, we have different skin types, skin texture and skin problems. Personally, for what works best with other skin may not be good for you. I think it is better to seek advice from the professionals before applying any products on our skin. Through that we can get the best product that will really suit our skin without spending much on trial and error method and flushing money in a drainage.

Galvanic SPA

I was introduced to Galvanic SPA by my mother. It came up while visiting Europe, she had learned it's all the craze and asked me to purchase one for her and a friend.

She could not stop talking about it. Soon enough, all her friends from work were stopping by and giving it a try.

So I tried it, and must say was impressed. My vacation lasted 3 weeks, the before and after pictures of my mom's skin and tones, were amazing.

I have supported her in affiliating with Nu Skin, and although she stuck to the Galvanic Spa, and did not care much for the other make-up

products, she's found a second family and a great means of income. I have my own now, and absolutely recommend it to any woman out there.

Wow this sucks

When I first got my shipment of new skin I have to say it is some of the worst product for skin care out there. They make it seem nice, but it probably only works on 1 out of 10 people really. I really want $25 dollars and at least 7 hours of my life back. You can even see the way it covers you up in public. It's not my skin color and it only comes in one tone color! That tone is the closest to mine and it still is horrible. Their advertising may mesmerize you into buying it, but trust me it's horrible and worthless.

Okay product

I remember trying their facial mask out a long time ago and wasn't very satisfied with how it worked. The mask was kinda gunky and thick and felt really weird on my face. When I took it off, my face felt a bit dry and itchy. I tried it a few more times just to see, but I didn't really notice a difference so I stopped using it because it just wasn't working that well for me.

Nuskin is Still around???

I tried a Nuskin marine mud mask that I bought from this annoying girl who was a specialist in the army. Back in 1990, I think the mask cost me $25. Crazy expensive back then. The mask was ok, but after about a month of using it, the rest of the mask dried up and stayed at the bottom of the tube. I had to add tap water and shake it up it was so thick. I was so unimpressed with the skin care line, I wasn't even slightly interested in trying it again, ever.

I honestly cannot believe there are people who want to sell this crap, or that it is still around after all of these years. I used to be a makeup artist for Origins and Elizabeth Arden, and I would much rather use their products over this stuff you can't see or touch, or even get a demonstration or sample. How can you throw money at a catalog and hope the product will be good for your skin? Go to a cosmetic counter at the mall. Chances are, you will pay less, and if you don't like it, you can get your money back!

Cheaper than A Facial

I’m fairly new to using Nu Skin, after reading about it on a website but I have really noticed the different made by the product. I was a bit apprehensive at first and didn’t really think the product was worth the money or effort, but after using just one of the Galvanic Spa Facial gels my skin already looked younger, healthier and in better condition, and getting 8 for just under $40 is well worth the price tag. Cheaper than many of the competition products out there and one of my favorites, much better than a facial, with personally for me better results.

I don't regret having been a part of this awesome company!

I tried the Nu Skin Galvanic spa maybe 2 years ago in Asia. A friend of mine introduced me to the company, and said I could be a part of the marketing team. He made me try the Galvanic spa because I told him how I would only promote products I trusted. And I must say the Galvanic Spa is AWESOME! You would literally see results instantly. The little tubes of gel that came with it didn't cost that much so it is very easy to promote. The device itself is costly, but as soon as our clients saw the results, they would say it is worth it!

Nu skin is an awsome business to be affiliated with

I have been a consumer of Nu Skin for almost ten years now. I love their skin care range and they are not very expensive and they have made wonders to my skin and appearance. I signed on to be a distributor about four years ago and I have been making a healthy living from this. I started off by just selling the products part time to just my friends and family. It was more like a hobby but when I started building a downline then the profits really kick in. Of course the main requirement is that you a purchase monthly product package which is not that expensive considering the fact that you will earn a lot more if you have a reasonable downline.

Fortunately after two years of building a profitable downline, now I only collect my commissions from my downline and just last month I racked in a whopping $5,234 in downline sales!

This is my fifth year as a distributor with Nu skin and it's been a brilliant adventure. If you are determined and have the motivation and drive to succeed then I recommend Nu skin. The hard work you put in will eventually pay off.

Nothing But Junk

I was a member of Photomax home based business about two years ago. With my Photomax membership was Nu Skin, skincare products, that were supposed to be revitalizing to your skin. Month after month I received a shipment at my door with Nu Skin products that were over priced and nothing but junk.

I do not recommend Nu Skin for usage and/or selling.

I am earning around 100$ a month

I like very much the NU Skin products. I have been using them for a while. This is why I was happy to see that I can earn money selling these products. The only condition is to buy some products myself every month. I like the fact that I am allowed to resell these products. Sometimes I keep for myself what I need and the rest I sell. I received payment 3 times now. I can say that they are a legit company and they pay on time. I am not making a lot of money, but it’s worth my time. I am earning around 100$ a month.

Great to use and profit from

Nu-skin is really a great product. Initially I just wanted to try the product to see how it worked on my skin. The starter kits can be a little pricey, but the wonders of this product make it worthwhile. The Ageloc demo package is what I used and it comes equipped with everything you need to demonstrate this product. The 402 price is a little steep but can start you on your way to being a independent salesperson. Another great point is that you can set your own resale prices. The antiaging market is growing and people really want to try different products. I have gotten great feedback from selling this product. Because I just started I haven't seen any revenue worth mentioning but I'm sure I will.

Love this product!

I have been suffering with rosacea for the past 8 years. Every product I have used in the past have given me terrible break outs. Nu skin is wonderful! I can't believe the difference in my face. It feels so good not to have to worry about flare ups. Nu skin is so gentle and the products are not harsh on my face. The logical thing for me to do is become a distributor. I love the idea. I most certainly do NOT have a problem buying some products to get started with. I would highly recommend this product if you are looking into sales.

Really great product and investment!

First off, NuSkin products are the best! They work and I can always count on them to keep my face beautiful. This website is a real website that can get you real money if you work hard for it. I invested in it about 6 months ago. I did my part and I got back what I wanted. They do not scam you like other products. They promise and their promises are filled. But in order for them to fulfill it, you must work extra hard. This is real business, it's not an affiliate program nor a make easy money kind of thing. I took it very seriously and made around $500. Really recommend people invest in their products.

NuSkin: What you put in is what you get back

I was introduced to NuSkin Galvanic Spa 2 years ago and I saw right away that the person who has this device and the products that go with it has a great tool for personal use and for sales. The anti-aging market is growing in leaps and bounds. Included with the opportunity are some of the best supplements out there, Pharmanex, recommended by many doctors and natrapaths. They have the only product that can be proven to work. Their technology is extraordinary.

Sounds good right? It is if you are willing to work very hard.

Do your due diligence wouldn't you do that if you bought any business? If you don't you are not really serious. I got on a plane from NY and went to Utah before I signed on. I took a tour of the plant, met with other distributors, spoke to their senior level executives who make themselves accessible, went to one of their high impact monthly free 3 day trainings open to all every month.

You must become an executive and you will want to recruit others to do the same. You must have lots of customers who love the products and stay with you. If you don't do those things you will be miserable and quit.

NuSkin pays on time every time when you use direct deposit or a cash card. I recommend doing the direct deposit. Waiting for checks is a waste of time and they charge you to send it. Not doing this will also waste your time and energy.

One thing to know is this, working this business is a growth opportunity as they are launching new and very effective anti-aging products that surpass anything on the market, however this is a marathon run, not a sprint.

Ask yourself am I willing to work very hard for a long time for a big payoff? If yes, go for it. If no, you know what to do.

You must meet a minimum every month of $3000 in your personal sales to really get into the money, $2000 will hold your place as an exec but the money is dramatically better at $3000 personal sales and above.

You will have to purchase a monthly minimium for yourself so that you can tell others with authority how great the products are, for that you get free products as will your customers when they do the same.

In my first two years I averaged a pretty good income $3000 plus a month. Know this, to do that I put in very long hours and trained myself and taught my team every day including weekends. I essentially lived on the telephone and went all over the place to work this business.

I participated in the weekly meetings, daily phone trainings, traveled to the headquarters for training on a regular basis in Utah, went to conventions, regional meetings and immersed myself in how to do this kind of business by taking network marketing books out of the library.

You must do the work it will not do it for you. What you put in is what you will get back and they do pay very well.

If you want to have a long-term growth business this is for you. Make sure you join with a team that will help you get going, but do not expect then to do the work for you.

You must be willing to invest in your personal development to grow yourself bigger, your business development (like any serious business) and expect that it will take you time, energy, money and hard work to make it happen, just as if you opened any business.

NuSkin is a company of great integrity and they have all you need in terms of products and marketing collateral it is really up to you though if you want to succeed. Learn your trade and it will pay you back.

If this sounds too hard, don't do it.

In short, if you treat NuSkin like a big opportunity with your sights on the long-term and not as a get-rich-quick scheme and you are willing to work hard, very hard, educate yourself, get out of your comfort zone, and become an expert on the company and how to be a network marketer, you will over time have yourself a great income stream.

If you are not willing to treat it as a serious business and put in the time, money and effort then just sign up as a distributor buy the products and enjoy them at wholesale pricing, refer friends make a little cash to pay for your products and enjoy the tax break.

NuSkin products really do what they promise, they are a very good company in business for 25 years with business in 48 countries around the world and that in itself is a lot.

I like them!

I started to use Nu Skin products about one year ago. I like them very much, and the best thing is that I don’t have to spend a lot of money on them. I must admit that becoming a distributor for them sounds good. I know they ask you to buy a certain amount of products. That’s ok for me because I use them anyway. If I don’t want to use some of the products, I just try to sell them. I hope this can bring me some extra money every month.

Before I decided to subscribe to be a distributor for the Nu Skin company I did a little Google research. I must say that I didn’t find one negative thing about them. They seam to be legit and they really pay people selling for them.

This is a teenager's lifesafer

My mother used to buy Nu Skin products for me when I was in high school. Yes, I'm a guy but I had a terrible time with acne for a while. Some products worked for a little bit but it was not enough. I tried some of Nu Skin's products and it did wonders for my face. I was so happy that my face was clear that I decided to help others by selling these products.

I really like that it is fairly inexpensive to get started in a business opportunity like this. Since I already knew how the products worked, I took my products that I ordered and started promoting them at high school fairs and carnivals. They actually sold themselves once they were able to try some for themselves. I had more parents coming to me for further details and actually ordering the products.

I think Nu Skin is one of the best companies out there. Their products are absolutely great and I've never had one complaint. I'm able to make a nice income doing this. I would recommend this to everyone.

Customer Service woes

NuSkin has fabulous products. They work and they're worth the money you invest in them. That being said, I appreciate the opportunity to warn future reps that the Customer Service (and I use that term loosely) department leaves a lot to be desired. I joined NuSkin at the company's inception, but drifted away for many years. When I was re-introduced to it, it took them months to process my application properly, even though they had no problem processing the orders I was submitting. I didn't receive compensation because my checks were returned since NuSkin still had my old address from 20 years prior on file. Instead of contacting me, they just held the checks. I may have been able to overlook that if the gift package from my upline that contained at least one Galvanic Spa had not been delivered to the old address and left in front of an empty apartment without a request for a signature. My gift and my upline's money are both history because the package was taken by someone other than me. My position is that NuSkin is a great company in many ways, but you better be prepared to take a tiger by the tail if you ever have an issue with them, and never ever ever have a conversation with anyone from the company that's not in writing. Not that you'll win, but you'll be proud of your fight. I still have a file with all my correspondence with NuSkin.

Nu Skin equals great skin

My skin has always been full of acne. I tried every cleanser out there and nothing really helped it out like Nu Skin did. I just love all of the products. They are on the pricey side, but well worth the money. I just love the Clay Pack. It makes my skin feel great and tight.

Now selling these products is a breeze. If you use them yourself you can point that out and let your customers know that. If you are able to give first hand experiences people are more likely to buy them. They will be able to actually see the results. If they are worried about the price, just let them know that the product lasts forever because it is made of only quality ingredients.

Nu Skin was great for me in both product and productivity

In high school I was so obsessed with my skin. So I used product after product trying to find something right for my skin [oily and porous]. Nu Skin did indeed help. So after a while of using it--I decided to help sell it. I was working with my mom and the products were great. High school students are great with buying them. To my surprise my clients were mostly guys. I could not believe how obsessive guys were over their skin. They would pay a large amount just to look better. But the products worked for them and I was their savior. It felt good to help people and earn the commission.

Nu Skin has been around for such a long time

Nu Skin has been around for such a long time. I used to sell Nu Skin years ago and the products are of such high quality. It is a great company to work for. I'd compare it to Avon, but the products are higher priced and you get more for your money. I have sold Avon recently and it was much harder to sell Avon than Nu Skin. The Nu Skin items always just seemed to sell themselves. The company has grown so much since the days I used to peddle their products. To this day I still use Nu Skin facial cleansers.

One of the Pioneers of Network Marketing

My experience with this company dates back to over 15 years ago. My cousin was involved with Nu Skin, and was successfully selling both the products and adding new 'affiliates' to his downline. I decided to give it a try, with nothing to lose other than the $150 to buy the kit. Remember, this was pre-internet and pre-cell phone days, so network marketing meant trying to sell to your friends, relatives, neighbors, or anyone else that would listen. They used 'meetings', which Amway made famous, to build your team and keep the interest in the products high. I soon found that this was not the right opportunity for me, but the products that I did manage to sell received mostly good reviews. Here it is 2009 and the company is still going, so I think that speaks to the loyalty of the customers to this company. I see they have updated the original program with products like videos to build a web presence, and from what I can tell they must be having some success. But, as with any network marketing outfit, it's far from a fast payout, more like a slow grind. Plan on testing a lot of cosmetic products to get familiar with the product line!

Very nice and effective products

I have been an independent seller of Nu Skin since 2007. I was invited by a friend to join, and I immediately grabbed the chance. At the time I joined, all I shelled out was about $250. It sounds a lot, but I got a personal kit with it. I could sell it or use it for myself. I decided to use it so I could test the "science" of the products and it would be more effective to be a living testimony instead of relying on hand outs and such. I liked the products because they really cared for the skin. Based from my own experience, they are effective and are worth it. As for the Nu Skin, I liked that I wasn't confined to earning on selling the products alone but that I also earned if I refer people to sign up under me as a downline. This made earn back the initial cash out easier, and I was able to earn back my $250 in less than 6 months. This is still slow, some people earn a lot on their first few months. But for me, it's OK as long as I was able to earn it back and that I kept earning in the months after. This is a great company and they really give people earning opportunities.
