Surprised?  I might do a top 25 article marketing section since those seem to be so popular, and there appear to be several great options for learning more.

Article marketing isn’t for everybody, but maybe it should be! The IMRC community loves article marketing so you should too. Pick a product above and give it a shot. You have to try stuff and see what works for YOU! Always be testing something new. Speaking of testing something new . . .

Monetization tip of the week: We’ve also been tinkering with our Google AdSense for Content settings and trying out image ads as well as text ads. So far, showing images and text for a given ad unit has improved the click-thru by about 15%. If you have a website and you’re using AdSense and not showing images, you might want to test it out and see if you also get an improvement. We haven’t tried the Adsense for Search yet because most of the chatter I’ve read says you will get a higher CPC with Adsense for Content on your search result page. So – I added adsense for content on the search result page yesterday and will let you know what happens!

I’m still working on the status icons for those of you with over 2000 credits, and I have some cool images to use I hope you will like. I’m shooting for next week on that update.

We’re testing out a new way to monetize the site using Vibrant Media’s PPC technology. The double lines are ads. We don’t control the ads – Vibrant does. Stuff like this helps keep IMRC free for you. But if it’s really annoying let us know and we will take it down. Tell us what you think!

We have had a lot of people asking us how they can get more bonus credits.  Well, we’ve added a way to get 1000 bonus credits!  We aren’t sure if you will like this or not, so please comment to let us know.  If our members like it we’ll keep it.  If they don’t, we’ll scrap it!

As IM Report Card gets more popular, we’re starting to see signs that product owners are paying attention to what people are saying about their “stuff” at IM Report Card.

This is a good thing for everyone, and we’re happy to see this.

We never meant for comments on the review pages to turn into full-blown discussions or back and forth “arguments” between customers and product owners … and we don’t want to play “mediator” in the event of a dispute (at least not yet!) …

However, lately several product owners have expressed concern that their only way to combat inaccurate statements made by users about their products was to post in the forum thread for their product, where it’s less likely to be seen.

We agreed that this wasn’t quite fair, so we’ve implemented new functionality that allows product owners to submit a “rebuttal” to specific user comments if necessary.

Upon receipt of a rebuttal from a product owner we’ll simply attach it to the applicable comment, and you’ll see a little alert icon next to that comment.

Further discussion will still need to take place in the discussion forum thread for the particular item in question, but at least this gives product owners a chance to respond to comments they feel inaccurately portray their product or the users’ experience.

If a product or site owner posts a response to any of your comments you’ll receive an email notification letting you know they’ve responded, with a link to view it.

You can also search the IM Report Card site right from the toolbar, and even submit Internet marketing sites you come across with one click.

We’ve changed the default sort order for comments on reviews to the “Most Recent First” option. This will allow new comments more exposure and as more and more comments are added it should result in relatively equal exposure for all comments.

We’ve covered considerable ground in terms of reviewing most of the extremely popular Internet marketing products and services on the market right now.

Next we’re going to be reviewing some of the newer and less popular products and sites.

Effective immediately, any Internet marketing related product/site with an Alexa ranking of 300,000 or less is eligible for review (and submission).

We’ve also raised the credits you earn from submitting sites from 75 to 100 credits.

Please note that the added “restrictions” on certain types of sites are still in place and have not changed ( “get paid to” sites,  “paid survey” sites, etc.)

Stay tuned for a BIG update within the next week or so. We are working on something very cool that will make it easier for you to earn credits from submitting new sites for review, and extend the usefulness of IM Report Card in general in a big way!
