Private Message notifications
We are working on more tightly integrating the forums with the rest of the site, including merging the currently separate profiles, etc.
One little feature we’ve just added is a notification at the top of your Profile page if you have unread private messages, to make sure you don’t miss them.
The default setting (which you change) is that you’ll receive an email notification any time you receive a Private Message, but we added the additional notification to the top of your Profile page just in case you miss that email for some reason.

That is a good suggestion. What if someone gets online and of course logs in to IM Report Card without going to their e-mail. You never know that message could be very important. As Always, Roger Taylor
Most people check their profile page almost daily it seems, so we added an alert to the top of your profile page if you have unread private messages.
