Looking for some extra cash this week?  Today marks the start of IMReportCard’s very first Biggest Commenter Contest.  IMRC has posted almost 4,000 reviews of Internet marketing products, services, biz-opps, people and more and we want to know what you think about them!

Here are the contest details:

- Contest runs for 1 week only (6/7/11-6/13/11).  You can see where you stand at any given time by going to the IMRC homepage and viewing your ranking in the “Most Active Users” section.

- Comments must be approved in order to be credited to your account.  This means that you still need to submit comments that are specific, helpful and based on your personal experience with the reviewed item your commenting on.

- The ten winners will be notified via e-mail once the contest ends and all submitted comments have been approved.

- The cash prizes are as follows:  1st place: $100; 2nd place: $75; 3rd place: $50; 4th place: $25; 5th place: $20; 6th place: $15; 7th place: $10; 8th place: $10; 9th place: $10; 10th place: $10.

- Cash prizes will be paid via Paypal.  Once IMReportCard contacts the ten winners with a Private Message through IMReportcard.com, they will be required to reply to the notification e-mail with their Paypal address, so that prize money can be paid directly into each winner’s Paypal account.

Facebook just launched their social plug-ins so we had to be among the first to try it out.  Now if you go to any product, service, person, or bizop you will see the familiar Facebook “Like” button.  And if all works properly, you should be able to see how many of your Facebook friends like that product or service too!

This is just our first stab at Facebook integration. Next we’ll try to get something extra cool like a page where you can see all the sites your Facebook friends like from within IMRC.  One of the best implementations of this if you want to see the potential is on www.levis.com where they have a “friend’s store”.

Did you ever notice that review pages with hundreds of comments took a long time to load?  Well now we have added pagination so we only show 50 comments per page, and then you can go forward or backward to the next page. That has greatly improved our page load times.

What we’re working on next:

The next big change is to add more categorization to IMRC.  That way you could see all the Article Marketing sites, or SEO sites, or SEM sites, in one place. It’s a big change because we have to categorize the 3000+ reviews, allow reviewers to select the categories, and then give you a way to use the categories to find what you’re looking for. 

But sit tight, we’re working on it, and you’ll love it!

Now the world will know your credibility at a glance with your shiny new IMRC status icon!  Icons are earned at 2000, 3000, 5000, and 10,000 credit thresholds – and that means only the top 5% of the IMRC community currently has earned this esteemed award. 

Next to the avatar image for each comment you will now be able to see the commenter’s IMRC status icon.  The icons are also available when reviewing a member’s profile page.

All comments, grades, and bonus credits count toward the status icon. Referral credits currently do not count toward the status icon award.

Surprised?  I might do a top 25 article marketing section since those seem to be so popular, and there appear to be several great options for learning more.

Article marketing isn’t for everybody, but maybe it should be! The IMRC community loves article marketing so you should too. Pick a product above and give it a shot. You have to try stuff and see what works for YOU! Always be testing something new. Speaking of testing something new . . .

Monetization tip of the week: We’ve also been tinkering with our Google AdSense for Content settings and trying out image ads as well as text ads. So far, showing images and text for a given ad unit has improved the click-thru by about 15%. If you have a website and you’re using AdSense and not showing images, you might want to test it out and see if you also get an improvement. We haven’t tried the Adsense for Search yet because most of the chatter I’ve read says you will get a higher CPC with Adsense for Content on your search result page. So – I added adsense for content on the search result page yesterday and will let you know what happens!

I’m still working on the status icons for those of you with over 2000 credits, and I have some cool images to use I hope you will like. I’m shooting for next week on that update.

We’re testing out a new way to monetize the site using Vibrant Media’s PPC technology. The double lines are ads. We don’t control the ads – Vibrant does. Stuff like this helps keep IMRC free for you. But if it’s really annoying let us know and we will take it down. Tell us what you think!

We have had a lot of people asking us how they can get more bonus credits.  Well, we’ve added a way to get 1000 bonus credits!  We aren’t sure if you will like this or not, so please comment to let us know.  If our members like it we’ll keep it.  If they don’t, we’ll scrap it!
