Brighten's comment on Renegade MLM Success ...
Never got the information and no refund
I joined and could never log in. I emailed, called and emailed and I was finally called by a sweet sounding girl that said she couldn't find my account. When she finally did, she said I was too late to get a refund. I told her that I had emailed several times to let them know my problem with logging in (he didn’t have CS ticket system then) and that I received an email back letting me know that someone would contact me. After several calls and emails to them, I finally received her call. She apologized and said they were just setting things up and had been too busy to call (ok…I can understand that) I asked for a refund because at this point I had no trust left. Again, she said it was too late… No need to tell you where this crazy cycle went from there…This went back and forth for 3 months until I just gave up... I was referred to him by someone who recruited me to an MLM biz op. She said she had only seen his promo videos and they looked interesting so she didn't have any real experience with his product either... thanks a lot... Anyway... I suppose it's pretty unfair of me to give it an F since I didn't have any experience with the actual product, but customer services counts too does it not?
Brighten's comment on Tellman Knudson ...
Just Curious
I'm curious... For those of you that are complaining about all the email that you receive from Tellman Knudson... How did YOU make Your $800,000??? Personally... I can't get enough of his "stuff" and I simply delete any affiliate endorsements if they aren't for me. I also think his "personal" customer services staff is amazing. I don't have any experience with the services that he outsources which may be what people here are upset about.
Brighten's comment on Shawn Casey ...
If you're not an agressive marketer, you may not like Shawn Casey
I have purchased several of Shawn Casey's products. He is one of the most Aggressive marketers online and that is exactly what he teaches. His methods may be difficult or impossible for some people to apply but they absolutely do work. I agree that he teaches simple systems that you can learn other places online free. (He even calls one “Simple, Sharp, Short”) However, having a "system" (which most people don't have) is only one component to building a business model. Methodical, traceable application that is constantly being adjusted to meet current market conditions and company goals (which most people never set) is an imperative that most businesses ignore. No wonder 80% (I'm being conservative) of businesses fail every year. Like his methods or not... I challenge you to make a valiant effort to truly apply just ONE of his own systems (not an affiliate product he endorses or an advanced course that some marketing company is selling for him) Use one of his free offers if you don't want to buy anything... but full out apply what you're learning. Go on... Amaze yourself…. and NO… I don’t work with or for him. He has no idea that I even exist. I’m just appreciative of what I’ve learned from his products and what they have done for my pocketbook.
Brighten's comment on Jeffrey Lant ...
Good Grief NO !
I was up late one night looking for a new opportunity when like a “Rocky Horror Picture Show” up pops a live feed that was dark but intriguing. I have since made a rule for myself that I will NEVER make a purchase when I am sleep deprived. I can’t even blame it on the monitor. He was a drone that never deviated from his programmed script. Once I “blew” my money, I jumped right in and ... in the dawn of the following day… YIKES! I met “The Wizard”. There isn’t enough room here to tell all the crazy stories and events so I’ll summarize it with the following:
There was a time when bullies were thought to be people with low self-worth. New studies show that most bullies tend to have a highly inflated ego and are completely self absorbed. Bullies have an over developed need for control which makes them feel powerful over their victims. Sadly, many bullies get away with their cruel behavior because it is reinforced by people that mistakenly perceive it as an authoritative quality. With the abundance of better qualified mentors that have integrity and treat their students with dignity and respect, not to mention, at considerably less cost and in many, many cases, FREE…WHY do people continue to subject themselves to someone as obviously broken as Jeffrey Lant??? Obviously that is a question for a qualified psychologist and not for a nice place like this. Worldprofit(Not) is proof positive that there will always be plenty of people that will drink the cool-aid.
Brighten's comment on Mike Glaspie ...
Bad customer service. Old information
I ordered what sounded like rather substantial products from Mike Glaspie. It actually was a huge file... full of rubbish. It became painfully obvious that he must have been cleaning out old junk courses that he bundled together in order to appear that it had value.
He even had a long tutorial on using the Overture Keyword tool. Most of the links to sites he referred to were either broken or no longer used by the people he recommended. I thought it had to be some kind of mistake. Surely someone that has been around for such a long time wouldn't be this clueless... ? I called, I emailed, and I tried the contact support that I was provided with... Nada... Not one response.
His original sales letter goes as far as saying that he will return more then you paid for the course. (I don't remember the percentage he promised right now) I do remember that he offered a rather long term as well. Oh... Here's a good one... One month and many failed attempts at trying to reach Mike or any one that would return my money, I received a call from a sales guy pitching me on "Personal Training" from Mike. You've probably also heard the spiel... "He will only work with you if you are REALLY serious about succeeding" Yeah. That and paying the hefty price ranging from $5,000. - $15,000. I thought, oh great. I'll let this guy know that I want my "guaranteed" money back on the purchase I had already made. Never mind the "extra" money that Mike promised. Just make good on the "guaranteed money back” Pushy sales guy quickly changed his tone and said he didn't know anything about that and that his company didn't have anything to do with other courses and that they were just concerned with selling "Personal Training" for several internet marketers... and was I or was I not REALLY serious about succeeding in my business. I had to laugh. I asked him to please take me off of their list... Two days later... I get another call with the same pitch. I stopped him as quick as I could and politely asked him to PLEASE remove my name from their list... One week later... You guessed it... I get yet another call with the same pitch. Does anybody know how old Mike is? I'm thinking he might be losing his mind. There is a possibility that he has just lost control of his business or he doesn't care. In any case, he's looking pretty shady to me.
Brighten's comment on Chris Farrell Membership ...
Quick... Name your favorite teacher in Grammar School
Do you remember your favorite teacher in Grammar School? For some of you that may not be a long memory but for me it's been over 40 years and I can still tell you the name of my 5th grade teacher.
It was Mr. Katchadorian. He changed my life. He made learning an experience that I didn't want to miss. I went from being a mediocre student before him to graduating with honors after him.
There is no doubt that teaching is an art form. You can be brilliant and still not be able to convey ideas and thoughts in a manner that are simple to understand and implement. A good teacher must also inspire his students and make them feel as though they are capable of excelling with what they are learning.
I have been spending ridiculous sums of time and money trying to learn how to develop a profitable website for 18 months now and each course and guru leaves me even more frustrated then the last.
I didn't think Chris Farrell was going to be any different. After all, he is pretty new to the scene himself. However, lots of incredible testimonials and a $4.95 trial made it easy to take another shot. This was right before Christmas.
I have since become a member and all I can say is...
Chris Farrell may very well, one day, be my next Mr. Katchadorian.
Chris. If by any chance you're reading this... Thank you sir, for turning on the light.

P. S. The "Grade" system didn't show an A so I selected A- only because it was the highest grade available.
Brighten's comment on Jason Fladlien ...
Great Instructor, Great Customer Service
I have purchased several of Jason's products. He is a master at making things seem simple. He makes you think fast and act faster.
Whenever I see a big product launch that I like, I go to WSO to see if Jason has created one too. If he has, it's always much easier and a whole lot less expensive. He also has great customer service. He has even answered his own phone and called me back.
Brighten's comment on Michael Rasmussen ...
Great Instructor
I find Michael's method of teaching simple to follow and implement. Although I think all sales copy leans towards hype, Michael explains the psychology behind using the correct and compelling copy that drives people to take action. If you aren’t making any sales, you may want to take a look at whether you are adhering to the principles that Michael teaches. It's as though he gives you the design of the process so that you can easily fill in the blanks. I also purchased a “Sales Letter Creator” authored by another guru mentioned in this site. I love the software and wouldn’t want to do without it; however, I know that had I not received a foundation such as I did from Michael’s tutorials, the software would be like having a great automobile without fuel. I learned more about setting up mini sites from Michael than any other instructor. I recently subscribed to his Autoresponder and I am finding it a breeze to set up my campaigns because he included 50 samples that I refer to over and over again. I have not become an affiliate of his yet because I have been too busy creating my own products in a field not related to internet marketing. If I ever decide to promote IM products, Michael will be one of the first that I will include in my portfolio.
Brighten's comment on Dave Ramsey ...
I live in Nashville - Dave's home base
Since I live and work in Nashville, I have many friends that have used his products and also have friends that either currently work for him or have worked with him in the past. One of my current business associates was his partner when he started his radio program, and I've heard him say that he wishes he had stayed with him. The worst thing I have ever heard said about Dave is that he sure has a big ego. The people I know that work for him love him and the way he treats them and they rave about how much they are learning while earning. Dave can be harsh and loud but if you hear him talking to people, you realize, many of them aren't listening so he may have to raise his voice to get their attention. Although there is no such thing as one size fits all... Dave has it, hands down on what most American's miss... How to live within your means... AND... increase your wealth while doing so. He was one of the founders of the first and largest real estate investment association here in Nashville of which I am an active member and we still ask him to come back and speak to our group. Like most "gurus" Dave has a variety of courses and books at various entry levels so no one needs to be left out. Catch his energetic radio programs and give him a call with your story and he may just send you one of his books or courses free. If you do have it all together financially, you may not need him. If you can't figure out why you can't make your next mortgage payment and this isn't the first time you've struggled... I suggest you make it a habit of listening in to his program regularly.
Brighten's comment on Michael Gerber ...
I worked in his company
I titled my comments: "I worked in his company" because Michael did not have many "employees" but did have many "associates" working in his company. I'm not sure what his current structure is, but at the time this was quite innovative in that we were all "independent contractors" paid on performance. Although I wasn't there for long, the experience was pretty incredible and one that I carry with me to this day (and it's been over 20 years). Working in Michael's company is even better than reading his books or attending his seminars. Michael's company was a walking, talking example of what he preaches. I doubt that Michael would remember me since it's been so many years and he has probably had thousands of people working with him since, but I will always remember him and his leadership style which continues to inspire me. His ideas are simple, yet some of the hardest to implement, mainly because of the stubborn human spirit of wanting to, right or wrong, "do it my way". Michael's main focus hasn’t seemed to change; which is to create and implement clear and simple "Systems" that are "duplicatable" and "quantifiable" (that anyone can follow and that achieve results you can easily track, tweak and make changes to as the target market requires, in order to maximize profits). You would think everybody in any business would have that as their goal. The horrifying statistics of annual business failures prove that is not the case. Ultimately, I believe most entrepreneurs really DO want a better understanding of how to control the outcome of their business. However, most of us either don't know how to go about creating then implementing such an environment or are just too busy trying to figure it all out alone. Since my last acquaintance with Michael Gerber, I have had several of my own business successes as well as some failures. I have also met and promoted hundreds of business consultants and teachers from a platform of being a programs director for a large investment association. Some of the last words I remember from Michael are that I would one day regret leaving his company… I do not regret going out on my own. I do regret that I still don’t always follow what I learned from him. Almost every speaker quotes him and I still get a kick out of the admirable comments I receive when I mention that I was, albeit briefly, in any way associated with him. In conclusion: Even after all these years, and many other courses and mentors that have influenced my life, I still believe that there isn’t a business that should open it's doors without first consulting with the concepts that Michael Gerber so consistently teaches.
Brighten's comment on Internet Entrepreneur Club ...
IEC - Extensive and reputable but one warning
IEC is a part of the Internet Marketing Club (IMC) I joined over a year ago. The company was formed by internet legend Corey Rudl that had developed a loyal following before he met with a fatal accident. The company continues to thrive under the new leadership of Derek Gehl. Google searches will show you endorsements from some of the most reputable online marketers and successful devotees. The courses and services available under the IMC umbrella range from rank beginner to a pretty high intermediate level and advanced marketers can and do profit from affiliation with IMC. I am no longer a member nor an affiliate of IMC. I even asked for a refund and (although I now realize I didn't deserve it) they granted it. Writing this comment caused me to review my reasons for quitting that I should be embarrassed to share with you but in the interest of being helpful... Here I go... 1. I was too new to know what to select, from all that they offer. 2. I wanted all the information at once and therefore I grabbed everything I could get my hands on and completed nothing. 3. I didn't listen to the counselors that called me several times to check on me and try to give me direction and continually asked me to shut out all the other internet noise and take it one step at a time. 4. I allowed myself to be overwhelmed and distracted which led to the "internet jitterbug" for months before I finally settled down. In retrospect, I wish I had paid attention. My final note: Don't buy into IMC (or any other service of it's kind for that matter) unless you are ready to FOCUS.
Brighten's comment on EZ Wealth Solution ...
EZ Wealth Solutions - The book is definitely better then the cover
I am a member of EZ Wealth Solutions. I have to admit that when I was initially invited to "tour" the presentation, I was less then impressed. It isn't polished but upon closer inspection, I knew this biz op had it's perfect place. I have found that three of the reasons that most people don't start their online business is 1. They don't know how to get started 3. Most programs online have to many parts 2. They are afraid of spending money. EZWS is as the name implies... EZ... It allows you to start for a measly $10. per month (for their web hosting) and if you play it right, that is the ONLY cost you will ever have. There isn't enough room here to explain the program entirely (that's what the tour is for) but I can say that it is possible to make profits of up to $997. per sale without spending anymore of your own money. There is very little ever said about the massive amount of products that are included. You can sell them or give them away. As with most of these type of programs, If you're a newbie, the key to fast success is in which group or sponsor you sign up with. There are some pretty successful folks in there that provide lots of encouragement and support although they don't benefit directly from it. Don't give this one the brush off until you check closer.
Brighten's comment on Wealthy Affiliate ...
Wealthy Affiliate very disappointing
I've been a member of WA for 3 weeks and I am very disappointed. I had seen lots of good reviews. I later found that they were all from members trying to sponsor you into the program. Some of the reviews I read were quite proud of the fact that WA has a record of no refunds. Of course they don't... They don't offer one. They claim that it's because they have allowed you to download so much "valuable" information. You can find most of the information free or quite inexpensively elsewhere online. I can see how the site would be overwhelming to newbies. It is quite busy and does look like there is a lot there but nothing really spectacular once you look closer. Some of the forums are ok if you are new but there are some GREAT forums online that are free that have a MUCH higher quality. The STF forum (Strip That Fat - Kyle and Carson's personal product that they encourage you to promote) is quite depressing. Months of posts complaining of their lack of success. Kyle and Carson seem quite sincere and they are adorable but that doesn't make me any money. Senior members seem to stick around to encourage those that they have sponsored and they are quite nice as well but that doesn't make me any money either. Final note: I have heard that Kyle and Carson have not been in the forums much lately and that they may be revamping and perhaps upgrading the site. I would hope so. All in all... Nothing terrible to say about WA... Just nothing terrific either and certainly not worth $39. per mo or $348. Per yr. Fortunately I only blew $39. They do occasionally offer a 7 day trial. You may want to be on the look out for that if you still want your own look see.
