SuzanneMorrison's comment on Free Traffic System ...
Good for Building Backlinks, Bad for publishing content on your blog
I've been using this service for about a year now and I've found it to be a very easy way of getting some good backlinks to my site, especially deep links and getting pages ranked for less competitive keywords.
Pros:
- 60 links per article submission for free members
- You can choose the blog names and categories to publish your articles on
- Quick publishing of your articles
- Bonus links and commissions for referring people
- Good training videos and guides in the members area
- Free!
Cons:
- If you want to publish content on your own WordPress blog I suggest using another service as at least half of the people submitting to FTS can't string a sentence together in good English, so you'll get poor content on your blog
- Slow at paying commissions (although they did pay after I emailed them to ask)
- You can't see the URLs of the blogs that you are publishing on (although if you have a WordPress blog you will get trackbacks)
Overall I give this service the thumbs up if you are building backlinks, but the thumbs down if you are using it for blog content.
SuzanneMorrison's comment on Plug-in Profit Site ...
Some positives and some negatives
I joined PIPS way back in 2004 and it was my very first venture into the Home Business World. It taught me a lot, helped me get my first website off the ground and helped me get to where I am today (full time internet marketer working from home).
In my opinion there are some positives and some negatives about this program. You should be aware of these so you can make a fully informed choice about whether it is right for you.
First the positives:
- Super fast website setup
- Great support from a helpdesk and a supportive member forum
- Integrated with a pre written 400 day autoresponder series
- reasonably cheap to get started
- long standing program with a great sales page that converts well
And the negatives:
- the site is looking a bit tired as it is the same design as it has been for many years now.
- To modify your site you need HTML experience, in particular a good understanding of tables. The site has changed over to WordPress now, but you still need HTML experience as it is not widget enabled
- costly advertising programs such as the PIPS co-op and Guaranteed visitors are recommended in the training, even though results from these are poor
- The core programs are changed around pretty frequently - the most recent changes that I can recall in the last 6 months include Lawn Chair Millionaire (added in twice and removed twice), Cash Crate (added in twice and removed once), Empowerism (removed), Peoplestring (added then removed), Traffic Wave (added), Bon Voyage(added then removed), Traffic Swarm (removed). Change is a good thing, but not when it happens so frequently
In summary, a nice program to get stared with but you do need to learn some HTML and make your site more unique to get search engine traffic.
SuzanneMorrison's comment on Submit Your Article ...
Excellent way to speed up your article submissions
I've been a member of Submit Your Article for a few years now. They previously limited you to just 8 articles per month, but that limit has been lifted now which makes the service much more valuable.
The thing I like best about SYA is the article leverage. It takes only 10-20 minutes to add in a few alternative sentences, titles, paragraphs and resource boxes and it will generate lots of random versions to submit to directories. This makes a big difference to how many times your article will get indexed in Google on the directories.
They don't submit to a huge number of directories, but because their own directory has a high number of visitors and they email your articles to a mailing list, this greatly increases the number of websites that publish your article.
Overall an excellent service that has saved me thousands of hours of time (compared to doing manual submission).
SuzanneMorrison's comment on WebProsperity ...
Extremely poor product makes this a questionable business opportunity
I was a member of Web Prosperity for a few months when it was added to the Plug-In Profit Site.
I have to say - I was extremely unimpressed with the product they were offering. A contact manager/address book application, a way of putting videos on your website and a graphical way of viewing your downline (surely not a product, but they were saying it was!).
In my opinion all of these "products" can be found for free on the internet, so for this reason I didn't promote this opportunity. I just received some signups as part of the Plug-In Profit Site promotions.
The commission plan for Web Prosperity in my opinion was very poor. For this reason and the poor product and lack of decent marketing materials I decided to quit the opportunity after a few months.
The only good thing that I found was their support desk was responsive with my cancellation request, and I didn't have any problems with being charged after I canceled.
SuzanneMorrison's comment on easyClickMate Pro 2008 ...
Great Software - Does what it says on the tin!
I use this software on 3 of my sites and love it because:
a) affiliates can use a link containing my URL rather than a hoplink (= backlinks for me)
b) I can advertise multiple products using multiple pitch pages (something that you can't do with Clickbank alone)
The software was relatively straightforward to install. If you can create a databases, upload files and edit a text file then you will be able to do it.
Once it was installed it did exactly what it was supposed to do and I've had no problems with it over the two years that I have been using it.
I've also used the support on a number of occasions to ask questions and always found Adrian to be very responsive and professional.
SuzanneMorrison's comment on Success University ...
Great until they merged with World Ventures
I was a big fan of Success University up until they merged with World Ventures. Until this point I had been a happy SU member for a few years - enjoying the commissions, the training and the CDs sent by post and earning over $500 residual a month.
Soon after they merged with World Ventures (a travel MLM) my residual commissions fell off a cliff, they stopped doing their $2 14 day trial, which more or less caused my signups to stop. I found the new compensation plan too complex and the support ticket answering very slow and unhelpful. I also found that I was often unable to login to their website.
At that point I made the decision to discontinue my membership.
SuzanneMorrison's comment on Stone Evans ...
Good way to earn residual income, but it does take time and effort
I've been making an income from the Plug-In Profit Site now for more than five years and it provides me with a good residual income.
On the plus side I like the majority of the programs that are currently included in PIPS and I receive commission from them on a regular basis. It is an excellent way to promote multiple programs with one link. I also find that when people signup, their website is built promptly as promised and the support is very good (via help desk & forum).
The main problems I see with PIPS are the high drop out rate (most people stay for 2 or 3 months at most). The 30 days to Success Training recommends expensive advertising that doesn't work well (e. g. Adminder Guaranteed visitors, PIPS Co-op, Pushbutton leads) and the site can be difficult to update for new people with no HTML knowledge.
This is a good opportunity as long as you are in it for the long term and are willing to wait a few months before you become profitable. It is also worth remembering that there are plenty free ways to promote a website and you don't have to buy all the advertising recommended in Stone's training.
SuzanneMorrison's comment on SFI Marketing Group ...
Good Training but the Commission Plan Sucks
I joined SFI way back in 2004 -it was actually the first business opportunity that I joined.
Their commission structure is pretty terrible. They change it practically every year and it seems to get worse each time.
I've appeared in the Top #20 and sometimes the top #10 sponsors a lot over the past couple of years and I am also a member of the President's club, but my commission is usually only a few hundred dollars per month, which is not very much for being that near the top of SFI.
On the positive side I have been earning commissions with them since the first month I joined, they always pay on time and it is relatively straightforward for a new person to make a small amount of commission with them. People can sign up for free and they also have very clear and easy to follow free training, teaching internet marketing basics.
So I continue to remain a member, but I do not promote this as heavily as I would if the commissions were better.
They have just changed to yet another commission structure in the last month, but only time will tell if this results in a commission improvement or not.
SuzanneMorrison's comment on Wordtracker ...
The best way to brainstorm for keywords
Wordtracker is one of the best tools I have used for brainstorming keywords. You start by entering some keywords and then you have the option of using their built in thesaurus which suggests a whole bunch of related keywords. Wordtracker then returns big lists of keywords which you can then "add to your basket". Once you have a few 100 keywords or more you can then do competitive analysis on your keywords.
The competitive analysis shows you the total number of daily searches for each keyword phrase along with something called the KEI. The KEI is the Keyword Effectiveness Index and is a measure of how good the keyword is (good being lots of searches and low competition).
It is very quick and easy to build massive lists of keywords using this tool and the KEI is a neat way of helping you to choose the keywords.
The only downside to this tool is the accuracy of some of the data, in particular the number of searches per day. On many occasions I have found the numbers to be vastly underestimated or overestimated and they never seem to match up with the Google Adwords Keyword tool. I think the reason for this is that they get their data from a meta search engine and then calculate the results based on this. The meta search engine probably doesn't have quite enough searches to be totally accurate.
On the upside though, you will probably find some keywords that you never would have come across on your own!
SuzanneMorrison's comment on Lawn Chair Millionaire ...
Good commissions but product is questionable
I joined Lawn Chair Millionaire (LCM) a few months ago purely because I have a Plug-In Profit Site and as I regularly get around 10 or so new Plug-In Profit signups every month it made sense for me to join this program.
On the positive side I am still a member of LCM and the main positive thing is that they are paying commissions on time with no problems. I've consistently received a few hundred dollars each month over the last few months and this is paid directly to AlertPay.com when you request it.
On the negative side I am not keen on the "product" which is a vault of business opportunities and instructions on how to make money from them. Some of these are Forex based or sports betting based and they are just not my cup of tea.
So I stay with LCM for the commissions and because it is part of the Plug-In Profit site but I do not personally promote it.
Here are a few positives and negatives:
Positives:
* $20 commission per signup and $15 per month residual
* Payment is reliable and on time
* Bonus received every month for the first 3 months regardless of whether or not you sign anyone up
* Good banners, splash pages and marketing tools
Negatives:
* Not a great product unless perhaps you are into sports betting
* Unrealistic claims of how much money you can make
* So many menus inside the members area that it is easy to get lost
SuzanneMorrison's comment on StatCounter ...
Fantastic Free Tool that lets you "spy" on your visitors
I don't know what I'd do without StatCounter. I've been using it for a few years now and have it installed on all my websites and blogs.
It provides up to date and very accurate tracking of your visitors. It is quick and easy to install and there is a wealth of information including the keywords that visitors used to find your website, the country and city they came from, the site that referred them, the length of time they stayed on your website, which pages they visited and more.
The log file has increased recently to 500 for free members, but you can add as many sites as you like and the upgrade fee is reasonable if you need a bigger log file.
