mousepad's comment on BlogOverdrive ...
Basic package gone up to $2.99 and doesn't work with blogspot.com
I learned about Blogoverdrive on this site sometime in December 2009 but didn't actually try it until July 2010. I wanted to make sure how it worked exactly so I asked a few people who have had commented here and were claiming this and that. But weeks have turned into months and I never got a reply from them. So I tried to purchase the basic package to find out myself. Two pieces of painful truth struck me.
First, the basic package has gone up to $2.99 but nothing has changed when it comes to benefit. You still only get one site and one rss feed but with 60 posts a month I thought that was good enough and was hoping that the adsense income might compensate anyway.
However, after setting everything from the control panel, I couldn't get my blog accessible which is my second concern. I sat for three days to wait. Although the report said it had posted 2 or 3 but nothing was coming up. I started to worry. Then I sent a support ticket and within 24 hours I got a reply saying blogspot has disabled the automated posting.
In other words, it will only work with a self-hosted domain. They are very helpful anyway and the quick response was very much appreciated. They also refunded my money back so in the end I was very pleased with my experience with them although it didn't come out as expected.
mousepad's comment on TrueRevShare ...
Not as lucrative as they said
I joined TrueRevShare when it was fairly new and upgraded because they said that they were accepting only 500 upgraded affiliates. So I paid the minimum $20 before they closed the proverbial door. That targeted 500 went a little over 750. I thought it was going to be a lucrative site for me. One month after, I got my first rebate--$2.65 but I can't request cashout until I reach the minimum $10. There is no option to wait till you accumulate $10 before you can request cashout and after a couple of days the cash request button will be deactivated. So what else can I do but to roll it over.
The monthly rebate will cap at 20%, but if it's a slow month then it will be less. I wonder how long will it take to get the 240% rebate.
As a pro member, I can only submit 25 sites to be shown on the rotation. The script is like the old A4U but I like it better because it doesn't cause surfing problem like A4U and every surf I make is credited.
However, the hit allocation for each site is a bit of a hassle because I have to monitor it every once in a while. Well, the site sends a warning anyway letting me know that one of my urls is running low of hit allocation.
And I also like the idea that I can only surf once a week provided I surfed the minimum 90 sites in order to qualify for the rebate.
So if you are looking for a revenue share with this site, then it's too late for you now. But if you are only looking for a traffic exchange, then go ahead and try it.
mousepad's comment on You Cubez ...
PTC's just don't work for me
I joined You Cubez when it just started and it was really an innovative type of Paid to click (ptc). It looked so simple but when I got in I found it a bit puzzling. However, after a few days I learned my way around, and it sure is a good thing to drive traffic to your site or affiliate links whatsoever.
Initially, I joined Youcubez to earn some cents but I couldn't get many paid cubes. Also the competition was too much for me because others have thousands of points while I only had less than a hundred. So eventually I veered away from cubez, including all other PTC sites I joined, because I myself got tired of clicking.
mousepad's comment on Join Earn Refer ...
Cycling takes ages
I have just joined Join Earn Refer about 10 days ago and that time this review was not available yet. But credulous and stupid as I am, I wanted to try it to see how fast my money would grow. Their marketing pitch sounds very simple--everyone gets into the cycle and so it's a win-win thingy.
However, I never thought that the cycle would take ages. I wondered why there are testimonials in the site saying they cycled more than once a day. Well, as it appears they have got more than one positions. And another thing since I joined my position has never advanced--well, what do you expect with 27,000 positions in line?
I really should have waited till this review came up before betting my hard-earned $$ on that site.
mousepad's comment on E-Junkie ...
Pays instantly
I joined E-Junkie as an affiliate when I was setting up my blog that I got from Blogging To The Bank (BTTB). Rob Benwell has a review of the product that I posted in my blog. After changing the code I forgot about it. Two months later, I got an email saying I made a sale. A couple of days later, I received the payment from my paypal. I was so ecstatic.
E-junkie has lots of product for affiliates small and big time. From ebooks to softwares, CDs to t-shirts to Blackberry themes, there is practically anything for anyone to sell. It was a little bit confusing when I first arrived in the site, but after sometime I found my way around. Like clickbank and other affiliate market places, it's free to join and choosing a product is also very simple.
mousepad's comment on 70Cents ...
Too good to be true
I joined 70cents believing I would make easy money by just investing less than a dollar. Well, I was goofed. I mean I didn't really expect to earn a million but at least to get a few dollars would be good enough. I understood the part of getting referrals to get the maximum earning but even it it's only 70cents people are not willing to invest. Or probably they are just smart enough not to believe such lies like I did.
I also thought that one referral would make met get back my initial investment but I was also wrong because I got one referral and got nothing back until now. Lots of ambiguity in the introduction page really.
By the way, you have to pay a dollar and not 70 cents in contrast to what they say.
mousepad's comment on Smorty ...
I thought I was the only one
So I'm not the only one who didn't get any task from Smorty? I thought Smorty was very good at the beginning when there were only a few members. But when bloggers flocked the site, the tasks got less--more supply-than-demand kind of thing.
It wasn't easy to get accepted by Smorty. Well, I supposed most paid to posts platforms require at least 90 days for a blog to be approved and there should be frequent updates within that period. So I had to wait for a couple of months before I finally got approved. Unfortunately, there were no tasks available every time I logged in. I think some people just stayed on the site and when a task is posted they grabbed it instantly.
It was a good site with at least $6 per approved task, and you could get paid fast IF you get at least three tasks and you're lucky IF you get one.
mousepad's comment on Laura Childs ...
She's my heroine
I learned about Laura Childs through this site. When I was browsing for people I randomly clicked on her name and went to her site to see what she has to offer. What a luck I got that day because I found in her the ideal internet marketer that I had been looking for, someone who would give me the best training I need in order to be a successful blogger and Laura Childs is the perfect person.
You see, most internet marketers talk like magic to me. Their methods are too complicated for me. For one, I don't know how to market a product. I may have a knack for writing, but marketing is something else and as far as I am concerned marketing is not my cup of tea.
I do know that blogging can be a profitable hobby but I needed a guide on how to do it. Gladly, I found Laura Childs on this site and her blog is the most helpful one I have ever visited. Laura Child's blog contains very handy guides on how to do article marketing. Her blog posts are to me a blogger's bible.
So if you too are struggling with article marketing, I highly recommend you visit her blog and learn from her as I do.
mousepad's comment on Isabel Marco's Money Maker ...
I was so disappointed with this site
I was with IM Money Maker when it was very popular. My referrer, Qiwoman, even made a rap song for the site and it was quite entertaining. At first, the site was doing really well so I bought 6 referrals and in 3 weeks requested my first payout.
However, I began to notice a gradual decline in the site performance. I think it was too many clickers and not many advertisers, so the demand got higher than the supply. Then my referrals were also getting less and less and so it took me another month to reach my 2nd payout. Well, I had to click about 150 ads myself to qualify for the next payout.
But things turned from bad to worse. The admin suddenly announced that members had to upgrade in order to qualify for payment, otherwise their credits could only be converted to ads. That was really bad news for me because I already reached payout. In other words, I had to pay them $75 in order to receive my $10 earnings. So I turned my back on them and never visited the site again.
mousepad's comment on Ad Ventures 4U ...
Some are lucky, some are not
Before I started with Ad-venture I monitored the site for several months and after 5 months of seeing only positive results I decided to put my right foot in. I started with $100, end of April 2009, and by July it had doubled. I wanted to wait till my ventures multiplied tenfold before I start cashing in, but by the end of August Steve Smith announced they are discontinuing the revenue share. I told myself, "There goes my hundred bucks!" However, through a series of newsletters, he reiterated that those who were not in profit should request cashout and it's the final cashout.
This "Final Cashout" caused confusion among many, including myself. We thought that we were going to get back our money and not get involved in the revenue share anymore. Some didn't want to request cashout so they could continue with the Revenue Share, and some wanted to get their money back. However, Steve Smith eventually made it clear that for the sake of those members who had never cashed out, he is doing this Final Cashout to make sure all members profit. Also the site is not accepting anymore members or upgrades from free members.
This clarification gave me some rays of hope. However, a problem occured when alertpay froze their account. Apparently, some furious members filed a complaint to alertpay against Ad-ventures4U. But Steve assured he had settled with alertpay and their account would be unfrozen so he could carry out with paying his members. Obviously, this caused so much delay with the payrun. September 8 and 9 I received emails saying payments are going out. September 10 his email indicated they have with alertpay and have revenue shared with 99.9% of the members. Unfortunately, I think I belong to the 0.01% because I didn't receive anything in my alertpay.
Also during last week, Steve mentioned in his newsletters that they are moving out to a new office due to threats to his family. His last emails were promoting the new gold site where existing members can continue revenue share. He stopped sending newsletters Saturday, September 12.
At this point, I don't have a final verdict on the site but if anything comes up I will post an update in the forum.
mousepad's comment on Instant Banner Creator ...
A free tool that's worth everything
This is indeed a must-have tool for people who want to have a personal touch with their website banner rather than just use the ready-made templates provided for them. Whether you want to use it in your blog to make an advertising banner for an affiliate product or service you want to promote, Instant Banner Creator is indeed an indispensable tool. Since it's free, you really got nothing lose but much to gain.
I am ever thankful to the creators John and Soren for allowing people to use the software for free and even lets you make money by referring other people to use it. But of course, you only earn if any of them buys the product they are selling which is quite common in the world of internet marketing really.
mousepad's comment on Hits2u ...
Definitely not for me
I joined Hits2U earlier this year and at first I thought, "wow, free traffic for my site" but then I found out later that they only give 7 days free trial and if you want to extend that to 365 days you have to sign up to Global Domains International and My Power Mall. Since both require monthly payment in exchange for a free traffic, I said to myself that it's not practical. I could have just submit my site to traffic exchange sites and pay less than I would for paying GDI and MPM monthly.
But this is how internet marketing works for other people. They make you gloat at their free offers and whet your appetite and then they offer you other products that you have to pay in order to get the free ones.
mousepad's comment on Joel Comm ...
Two thumbs up
Struggling with adsense? Joel Comm is the man you need to go to. His knowledge about adsense world is quite impressive. In his book Adsense Secrets he really spilled the beans on how to maximise your profit from adsense. How he managed to collect all that information is something I can't imagine. But one thing is for sure, he is a very focused man and he is always thirsty for knowledge until he mastered his subject. I don't know how long it took him to gather all the important info but to give them away for free is quite impressive.
The instructions are very easy to follow and he even takes your hand to guide you through it starting from building a site to setting up an adsense account and how to strategically put the ads across the pages in your site. Not only that, he also teaches you how to track which keyword is most clickable and so much more.
mousepad's comment on Jason James ...
His technics are topnotch
When I read Jason James's free report on "Untold Marketing Secrets" my eyes were opened. There are a couple of things that really caught my attention and keen interest. One is to include other successful Internet Marketers in your report. By doing this you will get them to promote the report for you because they are part of it.
Another one that sparked interest in me is the idea of "Reciprocation" or simply put, "I'll scratch your back and you'll scratch mine" which I believe is a powerful tactic because you get others to do the work of promoting for you in return of promoting their product.
There are many more great tips or secrets he uncovered in his report. I suggest you go and have a look especially if you are new to Internet Marketing.
mousepad's comment on Seth Godin ...
Not from humble beginning
Since I am also a squidoo lensmaker I have met Seth Godin through the site which I have a great admiration for. Squidoo is a great place to market ebooks and other products online because you can directly put your referral link in the page you are creating unlike in ezine. Therefore I am thankful to Seth for providing the platform for people like me who can't afford otherwise to pay for advertising cost.
Great as he is, Seth is a lucky man to have the right skill to be successful online. He has degree in MBA and therefore he is very knowledgeable and he's got the right tool. But his standards are high.
This is why I can't relate to him because he started in the middle of the ladder. I, on the other hand, had a few more steps to cross before I got to the first step. However, I have a great admiration for him as already mentioned. Reading his thoughts through his blogs, one can gain knowledge and somehow make you want to raise your standard.
mousepad's comment on ShareAsale ...
Not for people who are not good at advertising
I found ShareAsale when I was looking for a beauty product that I wanted to be affiliated with and to market with my ezine article. However, unlike Clickbank, ShareAsale requires a site that you associate with your account. But submitting one isn't difficult, as they accepted my blog even if it was fairly new and not much content because it focuses only on one topic.
Unfortunately, I haven't made a sale yet because obviously the product I chose does not have a high demand and I am still establishing readers for my blog even if my ezine article gets top spot on google.
Regardless, I can say that ShareAsale staff are easy to deal with and they act fast.
mousepad's comment on Joel Christopher ...
Great lessons from a great mentor
What I like about Joel Christopher is the simplicity of his method. I absolutely agree he is the king of list building and he emphasizes that mastery is by doing the same thing over and over again.
His blog is a must read especially for people who are struggling to make a list, which is the core of Internet Marketing. He is a man of vision, and his principle in life is simply to help others.
His 3 Steps to build and profit from your list are the most important information I have ever learned as a newbie on internet marketing and I highly recommend them.
mousepad's comment on Christopher Knight ...
Great writing tutor
Who hasn't heard of Christopher Knight, especially if you're an Ezine expert author? Well, it doesn't take much to be an expert really as long as you can spell correctly and write proper grammar, right?
Anyway, so that's how I came to know about Christopher Knight because he sends newsletters to all Ezine authors. The writing tutorials he shares are very compact and straight to the point. He really is an expert author. I do like his writing style and I'm not surprised he has so much success.
mousepad's comment on All Solutions Network ...
If it costs you nothing it probably is nothing
I got my ASN site in January 2007 when I first learned about making money online. That time I was just an infant and still learning to crawl. I signed up here and there as long as they are free even if I didn't exactly understand what affiliate is. Now that I have gained more knowledge about this stuff I went back to my site and check what is has to offer. I was overwhelmed. The site practically contains everything a consumer wants and needs. The instruction was to sign up for the free trials until you get enough credit and then you will get paid. But considering I was in Thailand that time I wondered how true could it be since the offers are from the States mainly. Nevertheless, I told myself that they are free anyway so I've got nothing to lose. Unfortunately, I also gained nothing and so the saying "if it costs you nothing it probably is nothing" applies in here.
mousepad's comment on Michael Rasmussen ...
Another great Internet Marketer
I've been following his blog for more than 6 months now and throughout those months I have learned so much from the newsletters he sends out. I am really amazed at his capacity to attract readers and I think he owes it to his great success and generosity as he willingly shares his tips on on how to succeed online.
Although I never bought any of his ebooks but his newsletters I receive regularly are the silent teachers as I observe how he sell a product to his readers. I read his newsletters from beginning to end and therefore I have learned a few of his technics.
mousepad's comment on Rob Benwell ...
Actually he was my first mentor
When I took advantage of his free "money-making website" which I obtained from Blogging to the Bank, I learned a few steps on internet marketing. The blogposts he shared opened my eyes and I learned how to use Clickbank and what it means to be a affiliate marketer. So through Rob Benwell, I unlocked many doors of opportunities on affiliating. However, driving traffic to my blog proved difficult and I thought there's no way I can even earn a tenth of his earning.
He may have tricked me into taking advantage of his free "money-making site" which I had to host in his hosting site but at least I learned important lessons.
mousepad's comment on John Chow ...
One of my first mentors
When I learned about blogging and internet marketing, John Chow was one of the first people I looked up to for guidance because of his great success as a blogger. His free ebook "Make Money Online With John Chow" available in his site is full of profitable tips and information through it I unlocked vast resource of how to earn online. He claims he makes money by giving away free ebooks but those ebooks are full of backlink to his website where he gets constant flow of traffic.
He's got simple but great techniques on how to attract followers on twitter. He gives away gadgets like iphones if you retweet his tweets that contain links.
mousepad's comment on Paydotcom ...
Never made a money from it yet
A friend recommended this site to me and since I got a blog I thought it would be a good way to monetize my blog aside from Google ads. But again it's more complicated than I thought. I've been seeing people promoting paydotcom as it allows them to earn a decent income but affiliate marketing seems very illusive to me. I can't make it work. They say it's easy but they don't consider the rest of the population who know little about internet marketing and stuff. Adding the gadget in my website was easy yea but until now I haven't figured how to choose products that match my blog content. So I'm selling cameras and other gadgets but they don't really appeal to my readers. Then I realize that having a blog is not enough to take advantage of generating income from services like paydotcom. You get to have a skill in order to utilize it and benefit from it. It's a good service, it just doesn't work for me.
mousepad's comment on Entrecard ...
Entrecard drops don't mean they visit your blog
I liked the idea that when you put entrecard to your blogs you can multiply visitors to your site. But it wasn't as easy as I thought. You need to establish yourself and have lots of followers to get more visitors to your blog. Just because some people regularly drop entrecard to your blog doesn't mean they visit it. You don't need to visit a blog in order an entrecard. You can do it in your entrecard account. In fact it's the only way you can drop. I have feedjit live in my blogs and I don't see people coming to my blog through entrecard. So it's actually useless.
mousepad's comment on LinkBucks ...
They're getting in the way
When I first heard about this service I paid no attention. But soon many people talk about it and I thought I'd give it a try. Signing up is pretty simple and once you're done with the links you don't have to do anything else. Most twitter members who post only links use this to rake in page impressions. Since I'm a blogger and I thought this would be a brilliant idea. I put the linkbucks ads to all the links in my blog. But when I noticed how annoying it gets to click on a link that diverts you to the adpage and unless you click skip you will have to wait at least 30 seconds before you can get into the real page you wanted to see. This gave me second thoughts. If I am getting annoyed, I'm sure others are too. So I went to my blog and revert to the original link without the adpage.
mousepad's comment on Jeffrey Lant ...
Absolutely not for newbies
I watched Jeffrey Lant's video several times when I visited the site World Profit. At first I was impressed by the presence of live people talking to you who will then instruct you to watch the video. After that you will be transported back to the live customer service who will then persuade you to buy the pack and they do have a persuading power. The pack includes a site with 50,000 guaranteed visitors. I thought it would be good to expose my existing site. But I was wrong. The site is a new one which comes with the pack and then it contains marketing products etc and you have to drive the traffic yourself.
One time I was talking to one of the live representatives and Jeffrey Lant himself was there and I heard him say to one of the viewers, "If you are not going to buy we will delete you in the system. " I was stunned. Why does he have to treat people like that? $99 is not a small money to risk and if you don't know what to do next where will you be? But to make things clearer to me I dug dipper into their FAQ and realized it's not something a newbie like me would want to start.
mousepad's comment on Bum Marketing ...
Perfect for Newbies
My most favorite of internet marketing method, the instructions are easy to follow and sometimes even spoon feeds readers which is why it's perfect for complete newbies.
Of all the other Internet Marketing methods, Bum Marketing is the only one that has worked for me because there are no hypes and best thing is you can get all the information for free. They arrive in your mailbox once or twice a week and they are jam-packed with useful and profitable tips without persuading you to buy this and that ebook. You don't get inundated emails promoting softwares or ebooks made by other internet marketers.
Two thumbs up! Very highly recommended!
mousepad's comment on APSense ...
Can't get help from anybody
I have been a member of Apsense for two years now but still haven't got the hang of it. The admin seemed approachable but when I actually asked for assistance on how to use the site I never got a reply. So I looked at other people's "business center" to learn from what I see. Some are doing quite well. But for a sparrow to compete with eagles and hawks, I found it a futile effort to promote my products because everyone has got a better product to offer.
I don't know how they can say it's a great place when everybody is competing for everyone's attention.
But lately they have added new service by sending out paid solo ads which is 5 cents. Good way to earn a few cents but it's taking forever to reach minimum payout of $50.
mousepad's comment on Pay Per Post ...
I can't get approved
I have been trying several attempts to submit my blog to payperpost but every time they reject it. First they said there was no monthly archive shown and therefore they couldn't tell how long the blog has been set up.
The next thing they said, my blog was fairly new.
And again, they said my blog couldn't be approved because it was hosted by wordpress. And each time they took too long to respond.
So now I give up. Although I know there are a number of people who did get the thumbs up shortly after and are now making money from it.
The only thing negative about payperpost is that if you are using blogger platform, Google penalizes you for posting sponsored blogs especially from PPP (payperpost). I have seen many people complaining about this especially those with high page rank already.
mousepad's comment on Article Submitter ...
Helpful for newbies
Article Submitter is the free version of the software but of course with limited function. But it's pretty good for article marketing newbies to start with. Article Submitter lets you submit an article to multiple article directories with just a few clicks. Some of the caveats I found from the free version are
a) you have to submit each article one by one but since most of the fields are already filled you only have to hit the submit button.
b) Sometimes you have to enter the category again.
c) The software doesn't save login details for some directories that require login.
With the platinum version you can submit the articles to all directories listed in the software in just one click. This is going to be useful and helpful only for big-time article marketers. But for me who is still new to the industry, the free version is already good enough.
mousepad's comment on Blogging to the Bank ...
Not for newbies
I first read about Blogging to the Bank from one of the get-paid-to-click sites that I was a member of. But I never really looked into the product until I joined a site where I was reviewing websites. I took advantage of his "free money-making website" only to find out it was only blogs that you can post in your site. I had to buy a domain and spend monthly hosting which came out to be his hosting site.
His claims are so hyped. He tells you that you can start making money from the website in the next 24 hours but it was just a trap. He said it's better to host your own blog so you can take full control of it but I was stunned at the overwhelming information I had to know. I was so confused and later on I lost my password for the site and the cpanel. Those were my fault of course but I realized that it was more difficult to do things for myself because I know nothing about html. So I switch back to my blogger blog where almost everything is just a mouseclick away.
I'm sure the techniques and tips he shares are useful but to host a blog is for people who already know much about html.
mousepad's comment on Rich Jerk ...
Don't be fooled
When I started looking for opportunities to earn money online, The Rich Jerk was one of the first sites I bumped into. Having learned previously from another Internet Marketer a trick they all have to use--offering a "free money-making-site", I signed up to his offer to examine what's the dirty little secret inside. True enough, in his additional information he then honestly said that there is no such thing as free. The website he's offering has to be hosted and have a domain which you will have to spend some money before you can earn. And of course that's where their trick begins because he then points you to an affiliate hosting site where he earns commission from your monthly hosting payment.
It was not easy for a newbie like me. Things like SEO and traffic and promotion for the website, they are just overwhelming information.
And of course once you opted in to his newsletter he will send you emails convincing you to buy more ebooks about Internet marketing. This is how he gets filthy rich.
mousepad's comment on Ewen Chia ...
Great SEO tutor even for newbies
The best thing I like about Ewen is that he shares really useful tips even if you don't purchase one of his ebooks. I learned from one of his newsletter reports how to get your website or blog indexed by Google in less than 24 hours. His instructions are very easy to follow and true enough when I applied them to my blogs they appeared on Google in less than 2 hours. And I'm a complete newbie or even idiot on Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
I like his simple but useful approach on utilizing google tools and take advantage of their free products. His newsletters don't always contain sales pitch on this and that ebooks. He also shares important tips on how to begin with Internet Marketing.
