tsherrod's comment on Gary Halbert ...
Gary Halbert is irreplaceable
I have followed Gary Halbert for so long it is ridiculous. He did this teleseminar with Michael Fortin and John Carleton, and when he came on the call his knowledge just oozed out the phone. He might as well have been the only one on.
Just google the coat of arms letter, or the Torva perfume ad, or even his personal full page ad in the LA Times.
He was a colorful character, who I had a dream that I was going to one day meet. A true reminder why you have to take advantage opportunities when they come. His Fusion seminar and Root Canal Seminars were both seminars I planned to attend and did not go for whatever reason.
His website is a PhD in marketing, soak it all in. Look for the Water Ad and Starving Crowd Letter (he was the first to coin that phrase), and be inspired.

He just rubbed me the wrong way
I have to first say that I admire that he actually answers the phone on his website. I thought that was really cool.
One day, after reading his materials and following his advice on joint venturing, I called him. I was really nervous, and I was brand new. I told him how I was new, but I was willing to do whatever he told me to learn the business, and if there was someone way I could work with him. He would not have to pay more or anything, I just wanted to learn. And if there was anything he needed help with.
Now, I know that being completely new there was not a whole lot that I had going for me at the time (I am trying to make a full disclosure), but I think he could have handled our conversation differently.
He coldly said that he did not need anything, but someone to help him sell more products.
I don't know, it just seemed really rude, inconsiderate, and not at all like someone that looks for win-win situations.
He just rubbed me the wrong way, and for that I don't know if I would ever support a paid program of his unless I was thoroughly convinced it would help me progress.
He does give out a Christmas giveaway called 12 Days of Christmas, I haven't even supported that like I used to, but there are usually some quality things if people want to check them out.
tsherrod's comment on David Garfinkel ...
Great teacher of marketing and copywriting!
Often times people who are great at their craft are not great teachers of it. They know how to work hard at it until they get good, but they do not know how to explain what it is that makes them good. They just find something that works and stick to it.
That is absolutely not the case with David Garfinkel, he knows how to break down what makes copy persuasive and teach it in a way that is a neat formula that anyone can follow.
They may not become GREAT copywriters of his lessons alone, it does require work and practice, but they will know what great copy is.
His blog is extremely entertaining and informative, it is a must for anyone that is serious about studying marketing.
My first experience with David was with him and Jim Edwards' Immediate Money, and the Immediate Money Matrix alone was worth the entire product for me.
tsherrod's comment on Jay Conrad Levinson ...
Anything that has Jay Conrad Levinson's name attached to it is gold!
I have had the great fortune to be on conference calls with Jay Conrad Levinson, I read all his books, and listen to all of his audio interviews.
There are very few of the old, or traditional, style marketing legends that have been able to translate their marketing methods from offline to on. I have heard some people say that his actual online marketing knowledge is extremely limited, but he has a talent for surrounding himself with bright co-authors. I might be jaded, but that has not been my experience.
My experience has been that his knowledge of complete integration marketing, using offline and online marketing seamlessly together, is completely unique.
For example, making sure that you follow up with customers online with email, but send them thank you notes through traditional mail, while it seems like it is common sense it is often overlooked.
But, everything about guerrilla marketing is subtle, and seems like it would be common sense, but as usual common sense isn't always that common.
tsherrod's comment on Keith Baxter ...
I'm not technical savvy enough... but, he is great
If you ever want to learn new ideas about traffic or have a different take on CPA networks, listening to Keith is great. He had a great technique for searching out wordpress blogs with do follow links, but I wasn't technically savvy enough to make it work. His kingspoint project was definitely great information, and I'm glad that I got to be a part of it.
tsherrod's comment on Andrew Lock ...
Fortunate to meet Andrew at Underground Seminar
I was really fortunate to meet and hear Andrew's presentation at Yanik's Underground Online Seminar. His use of eBay for lead generation is fantastic.
I thoroughly enjoyed learning from him and look to see his response to eBay's not allowing digital downloads outside of the classified area. He is also a great marketer in general not just on eBay.
You really should check out his online show Help! My Business Sucks...
tsherrod's comment on Yanik Silver ...
The Best Marketing Seminar I've ever been too!
I am a marketing junkie, so I study and learn from everyone that has done or is doing what I am trying to do. My first introduction to Yanik was buying the Underground Online Seminar II. The content was so amazing that I was determined to go when he had it the following year.
He did this private seminar on marketing and copywriting along with Ted Nicholas, and I took 5 pages of notes. Yanik also has a who's who of marketers that are part of his Maverick Business Adventure. I follow whatever he says and try to catch his public domain goldmine products, but it is always tough.
tsherrod's comment on Ken McCarthy ...
Internet Marketing Pioneer
There are few legends of the internet. If you like following people who seem to be doing things before everybody else is doing them, then Ken is the one. His system seminar pre-calls are better than most full $997 courses. Ken was doing the system seminar before seminars were the popular thing, and even to this day, his seminar is all content where a lot of seminars are pitch fest.
He is already talking to experts about mobile marketing which is really going to be the next big thing.
tsherrod's comment on JP Schoeffel ...
Good recommendations are hard to come by
I am on his mailing list, and I really appreciate the information he shares. He doesn't email a whole lot. If you want to try his products, and you are on the mailing list, he sends out huge discounts and 30-day free trials. His software was a little technical for me, but I am still in the beginning of my learning curve technically.

Creative and Generous
If you want free step-by-step traffic generation ideas and strategies, you have to sign up for her newsletter. I find myself constantly going back and watching her videos. She doesn't have all the videos up on her blog that she sent out in her newsletter, and she doesn't send out a whole lot of emails, but I definitely look forward to whatever she puts out.
