American Consumer Opinion Description

American Consumer Opinion is an online survey membership program run by businessman Jerry W. Thomas that compensates members for taking surveys that are conducted by various companies. Through this program, companies can conduct market research to find out what consumers are looking for in various products and services. Despite its name, this program has members from all over the world.

American Consumer Opinion Detailed Overview

American Consumer Opinion offers from $2 to $50 to its members for taking surveys. Of course, most of the surveys will be in the lower compensation range, but even $2 is not bad as far as taking online surveys goes. The program costs nothing to join, which is a good sign, since those survey sites that charge a membership fee to belong to them are almost always scams.

One of the things that make American Consumer Opinion lucrative for any member is if they can qualify to take a large percentage of the surveys offered. This isn’t always easy. When one of the participating companies conducts a survey, they are looking only for certain people to take it. Most of the time the people they are looking for to take their surveys are between the ages of 25 and 45, with children still living at home. This doesn’t mean that people who don’t fall into this category will never qualify to take surveys; only that they might not qualify for as many.

You don’t pick up the surveys from the American Consumer Opinion site itself. When a survey comes through the program that you might qualify for, you get an email from company vice president Ann Parks. In the email, you are given a link to the website that contains the survey. If you qualify and finish the survey, you get credit for it. Payment is sent by check, and minimum cash-out is $10. American Consumer Opinion also has an affiliate system in place where you get paid $.50 for every qualifying member that you refer to the program.

American Consumer Opinion Reputation

American Consumer Opinion seems to have a decent reputation among people who take surveys online for extra money. It doesn’t claim that membership will make you rich, which is a good sign that it’s an honest enterprise. Members report that the company does indeed pay, although there were some complaints that available surveys were few and far between.

Legit survey site

American Consumer Opinion is a great site for taking surveys. The one downfall, which I think is with most survey sites, is that you don't always qualify for the surveys that they send you.

One great thing about this site is that they pay decent amounts for each survey that you do complete. Unlike other sites you're most likely going to make at least a couple of dollars for each survey that you take. Because of this, payout isn't too difficult to reach. I would recommend American Consumer Opinion to anyone out there that enjoys doing surveys. It's definitely one of those sites that is legit and worth a try!

Its alright

I have been on this site for about a year and they do send surveys but it's just a matter of getting qualified to take them. I did a $12 survey from them but they still did not give me credit for it. The site design is user friendly and is easy to access. A few bad points to this site is that they don't send out that many surveys. You will probably only get around 1-3 surveys a month. So a grade for this site is about a C. I would probably recommend this site to a friend.

Legitimate Survey Site

I have been a member of this site for about a year now. I get many regular screening surveys each month, and although I do not always qualify for the follow up survey for payment, I have qualified for a few.

The site is very upfront about letting members know that in order to get paid for a survey, you have to complete the entire thing. The screening surveys are very short and basic and can help members to reach the next level.

I have actually been paid by the site, so I can honestly say that they really do pay their members. This is a nice change from many other survey sites I have tried in the past.

Overall, I would highly recommend this survey site for anyone who is ready to try their hand at taking surveys for pay.

Not many surveys

I've been a member for a few months. I've only received one screener and one survey. It seems like it'll take a long time to reach the $10 payout. I think there's plenty of alternatives to this site, but it's decent to have as another survey site to be a member of.

I cashed out 2 days ago

I have been a member at American Consumer Opinion Panel for about 4 months now. I do not receive a lot of survey invitations from them and I do not always qualify for their surveys either. I like this particular survey opportunity though, because you get to test new products that may or may not be out on the market yet.

I gave this survey company a grade of a "B", because I recently cashed out. I feel that for the amount of time I spent on the actually surveys that I did qualify for was sufficient, even though I did not always qualify for each one they did send.

My cash-out request was entered into the system. They said I would receive my check for $14 within the next 3-4 weeks. The minimum cashout is $10. I like not having to wait 4-6 weeks or even worse 6-8 weeks for my payment.

I would recommend this survey opportunity!

Never Got A Survey

I joined this site 2 years ago and was a member for over a year, but during that time everything resulted in waiting for a survey and I never got one. NOT ONE!

I like that the site has a professional look and that they are legitimate, however I don't feel this site is for everyone. I didn't like that I was a member for so long and never once received a survey.

I would have wanted to know why some people get surveys and others don't. I do feel I wasted time, a LOT of time. If this works for some people then great! As for me, not so much.

Very few surveys

I get less than one survey a month from this site. They send survey invites to your email and in the past 3 months I've gotten two emails.

The surveys are similar to any other survey site - meaning that out of all the surveys I get, I will only qualify for a few of them. Even though I've been a member of American Consumer Opinion for quite some time (more than a year), my balance remains a big fat zero. I doubt I'll ever be able to cash out, even with their relatively low cashout threshold. I've had much more success with other survey sites that provide surveys with higher frequency. ACOP is probably legit and all, but it would take a long time to accumulate any significant balance there. There are many better survey sites out there.

ACOP Is AOK

As an ACOP member for a year and a half I usually receive about one survey per month. Unlike most other survey sites which allow to visit the site to see if there are available surveys, you must wait for an invite from ACOP. I am always glad to see in my inbox their next survey for me to do because I have always qualified for their past surveys and know I will be making money from them again. I have done several in home product reviews and most recently finished a chocolate eating diary. I had to keep track of the different chocolates I ate over a four day period, then do a ten minute survey each day and I earned $8. I always request a check once my account is credited with the reward and each time (15) received payment quickly. Even though you will probably receive fewer surveys from ACOP then other sites, this is a must to add to your list.

Cool survey site

I have been a member of this survey panel for about 1 year now. I receive survey invites via email once every few weeks but because of my busy schedule I don't have much time to reply to them and take the surveys. My advice for this website is to be sure to check your junk email because you may find some invites end up there. When I do take surveys I enjoy taking surveys with this company because they are very fun to do during any downtime and for me personally I usually qualify for each survey that is sent to my personal inbox. I have received one check for reaching the payout quota of $10 so I can confirm that they do pay and you will get your check in the mail which takes a few weeks to process and send out.

American Consumer Opinion

It's a decent survey site, and I've been a member for over two and a half years. Like some of the other posters I have received checks for under $10, as it's been my experience that they send you a check after each survey that I've completed. That being said, they rarely send me any surveys to do, which is a shame because they do pay more for completing their surveys than many other similar sites. The good thing about the surveys that they send is that I pretty much will qualify for them, their screening process in that regard works really well. I don't have to waste my time filling out the initial qualifying questions only to find out I won't be able to finish and get paid. I think it's worth signing up for, membership is free, but don't expect to make a consistent amount of money with them. When you get the surveys they send, do them and be happy to get a little bit of cash. I wish they would send out more opportunities. All in all this site is pretty good, the opportunities are pretty good and you can make a lot of extra cash over time. So if you just need a little extra cash then this site is for you!

6 to 10 emails a year

Not sure how to grade this site. I just started and have not received any surveys. I sent the company an email asking if this was normal and the reply back was within 30 minutes and was pretty much this:

You will get 6 to 10 emails per year. Emails are selected randomly according to your profile. Incentive checks range from $2 to $50 depending on the length of survey.

According to the redemption policy you can not cash out after each survey, as listed above. The min cash out is $10. Hope this has helped.

Great survey site but not many surveys

This is a good survey site because they do pay. The only thing that I would say I don't like about the site is they do not send out very many surveys. I have been a member for over two years now and the most surveys I have gotten is probably about fifteen.

You also have to wait until you have ten dollars in your account before they send you a check. They used to send out the check after each survey was completed but I believe they changed that because check amounts were so low. The lowest amount I received for a survey was three dollars.

They also have an affiliate program that pays you fifty cents for each referral sign up, and once you have accumulated ten dollars in your account, they send you a check.

I would recommend the site though because the surveys are not very long so the amount they pay for each survey is good.

For those who work on survey sites, any amount of money that comes in for short surveys comes in handy.

How I'm earning FREE from home as a SAHM

Never Receive Any Surveys

I'm a member of American Consumer Opinion and based in the UK. So far I have been a member for 9 months and still haven't received a survey from them.

The Panel says it offers International Surveys for members outside the US, however they are nowhere to be seen. Other American based panels actually send out surveys, and I have withdrawn rewards from them. So if they can do it, why can't ACOP.

Also, I contacted the support team of the site and they gave me no help. The only reply I got was "We will send out surveys when we have them" which is really no use at all.

In my opinion this panel is not worth the effort to join, if your not based in America, compared to the other survey panels out there.

Find Out Which Sites Pay And Which Don't At Legit Sites

Love this survey site!

I've been a member with American Consumer Opinion for about 6 months, and they have been fantastic to deal with. First off, the surveys usually pay $ 3-5 and are not too time consuming to complete. They pay by check which you can request with any balance, and it arrives as quick as any survey company I've dealt with (1-2 weeks). They usually will send you a quick pre-qualifying survey, which takes a minute or two a few days prior to the actual survey, so if you qualify, you know you will be taking it and getting paid for the regular survey.

Anne Parks, who is the survey administrator, is great to deal with. She is always responsive to your needs (the way survey sites should be). I only wish the surveys were more frequent but I'm thinking as they grow the survey offers will increase also. Overall, great site, highly recommended!

I Like American Consumer Opinion

I have been taking online surveys for over 3 years and I feel that this is one of the better sites. I have been paid by them several times and also have been offered product testings as well. I like the fact that I do qualify for most of the surveys that they send to me. I also like the fact that they have added a more personal touch to their surveys because the surveys are coming from Anne Parks. To me it personalizes it much more. I like the fact that they do that.

I guess the drawbacks would be that you don't always get offered many surveys, and I have learned that this is typical for most of the survey sites out there. At least you know that this site does pay and is legitimate. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to earn some extra money with surveys.

Good... but with some downsides

I do really like this one and it is one of the more established paid survey panels out there. They also pay pretty well... when you are able to actually qualify. Unlike most survey sites, they send out a separate screener (and sometimes more than one) before they even start the actual survey. Sometimes these screeners take a while and you do not get paid for them. Sometimes I have even qualified based on a screener and a week later there's a longer follow-up screener that disqualifies me from taking the actual paid survey. It is an awful lot of time just to find out you don't qualify.

So what I've learned is it's best to just do them in your spare time. That way, you don't feel like you just threw your time away and if you happen to qualify, the pay is just an extra perk.

ACOP Be Prepared to Wait

I like this site and have been paid by them a few times. I have made usually six or eight dollars by doing the initial screener and follow up surveys that come along. The problem with this site is that

I don't qualify for many of their surveys. They are honest. You will get paid if you take the screener and are accepted for the follow up survey, but I haven't qualified for one of their surveys for at least six months. It is frustrating to have to wait so long to take a survey. They also pay by check and do not pay by PayPal.

I don't tend to like survey sites that don't offer a PayPal option. Overall good site.

Good but could be better

I have belonged to ACOP for 2 years now. The majority of their surveys pay very well. While they used to mail a check for each survey a few weeks after completing the survey, they have recently switched to crediting your account and holding the money until you request a check. There is no minimum to cash out and they pay very quickly (the last time I cashed out was on 7/28 and I received my check on 8/1). Their surveys are interesting, but unfortunately they are infrequent. I still recommend joining though.

Good site. Wish they'd send more surveys though

I've been with ACOP for a couple of years. I don't get that many surveys from them, but I tend to qualify for most of the ones I do receive. Each one pays me £2 to £4 and I get a cheque in the post weeks later.

I really don't recall there being a minimum $10 payout, unless it's a recent implementation. My cheques have always been below that.

The one gripe I have with ACOP is that I wish they'd pay via Paypal, not by cheque. Getting a small amount of money via snail mail is a bit of a drag, but I guess they have their reasons.

Just OK Site

What would've been nice to know before joining is a bit more detail about getting paid to take their surveys as what they have about it is very vague.

I like that none of the surveys I've completed for them have been worth less than $4 and that I can bring up a list which shows the dates taken and dollar amounts earned for each survey.

I also liked one of the surveys I did for them in which all I did was keep track of the snacks I had for a week, record them on their form and see $8 posted to my account afterward.

I don't like that you can't take any surveys unless they send you an email invitation and that those are far and few between.

My specific results from being a member for over a year are that I've only been able to qualify and complete 3 surveys and have a total of $17 in my account. I haven't requested a check yet (there's no minimum amount to request one), but probably will once I have $20 or more in my account. I wouldn't recommend this one to anyone unless they don't mind making money easily but very slowly.

ACOP Is Good

This is a nice site to belong to. As a member for about six months, I have requested three payments and have received all by check. The above review states a minimum payout of $10 but I have received a $6 check most recently. I don't receive many invitations to do their surveys, but when I do I know I will qualify and make some money. I have never not qualified for a survey they sent me. Recently I did a diary type of survey where I had to record my snack food consumption over a five day span and made $15 which I requested payment for. Candy never tasted so sweet! This is definitely a good survey site to belong to.
