ChaCha is an online program founded and run by Scott A. Jones and Brad Bostic. It employs guides to help people find information on any number of subjects. Guides are paid by the program for every question and answer transaction that they do with customers. Questions are asked through mobile phone texting, and customers are promised that whatever they ask will be answered within minutes.
ChaCha is a unique program; one that has grown in popularity since it was launched in 2006. When it first started, it was only internet-based. People would come to the website, ask their questions, and guides would research and provide the answers. Now the program is strictly for mobile phone users. The guides still research the answers on the internet (or simply provide the answers if they know them already), but to ask a question you must text or call through your mobile phone. The service doesn't charge to answer questions.
You can apply to become a guide for ChaCha, which is a paying position. Requirements are that you must be 18 or more years old, have an address and be authorized to work within the United States and have high-speed internet. You must speak perfect English and have good writing skills. All guides must pass a qualification test.
ChaCha guides don’t have to work a certain amount of hours each day or week; they can basically work whenever they want. There is no hourly pay, only pay per question and answer transaction, so the more a guide works the more money they make. Guides are independent contractors, and are said to be able to make anywhere from $3 to $9 per hour or more, depending on how fast they work and how busy it is.
There are different guide roles in ChaCha. The highest role that can be achieved is Expeditor. Expeditors oversee the whole process, making sure that all questions are answered in a timely manner and delegating them to the right guides. The next role is Generalist. These people have achieved this status because they’ve shown the ability to answer questions on a variety of different topics quickly and efficiently. Specialist guides answers questions on certain topics of which they have expertise, and Transcriber guides transcribe voice questions to text.
ChaCha has a fair reputation among the people who have worked for them as guides and the people who’ve used the service to get answers. Becoming a guide with this service isn’t easy, mostly for the fact that it’s hard to find a time when they’re hiring. They usually have all of the guides that they need at any given time, which is understandable with all the people who are looking for ways to earn money on the internet.

ChaCha is Wonderful I am a current Expeditor with ChaCha, I started out as a Guide and within 3 to 6 months was invited to apply for the role of Expeditor. I have to say that this site is wonderful because you for one get paid instantly by just clicking the "pay me now" button, and the money is instantly on your Visa Debit card which is issued by First Internet Bank of Indiana. Although they have revamped their payout policy, whereas when I first joined the payout was 20 cents per question answered and it has since dropped to 10 cents per question answered, but it has also implemented the performance payout where if you answer at least 300 questions within a given time frame you can still earn the payout of 20 cents per question answered. However, when I crossed over to the Expeditor role the payout for each question sent to the Guides is only at a rate of 3 cents. In spite of this I still commend this site because it is an easy way to earn extra income from home by just answering questions from your computer. Hooray for ChaCha!

I still haven't grasped the interface You know I have been making money online forever but two years ago, I ran into ChaCha. Mind you I found them when they were first really getting started. I was around when the interface was hard to learn and difficult to operate. I was also there when they were extremely slow. So mind you I have a bit of knowledge about how they work. I thought the concept of ChaCha was really neat, since I had experience with answering text messages online. When I first joined, I was invited by a chic. I signed up and looked around. I read over their tutorials and waited and waited for my practice message. I only received one. I was suppose to complete ten before I could actually take on paying messages. I never got those ten. The system was slow two years ago. Now Chacha has advanced and is actually making progress. I like the new set up and I like the fact that they send you through a class to learn the system. I don't like that the system is still flawed, and I was still stuck hanging a few times, even after completing the long and dreadful class. I've now moved on from Chacha because I came across another opportunity that works a lot smoother. For the most part though Chacha is hanging in there. I only earned . 10 whole cents with them and that was far from making payout. |

Not worth the effort ChaCha is a wonderful idea if your just looking for information. I love using it. Now if you want to become a guide... that seems to be impossible. I myself have tried several times to become a guide and I keep getting refused. I know I have passed the test. I have spoken with several of my friends and other people around the internet and they have also failed the test. I know someone that is a chacha guide now and she says she is not making any money. So if you're looking for information chacha is the place for you but if your looking to become a guide to make money find something else. |

This is decent I have found that ChaCha is very helpful and informative. I have used it not only for personal inquiry, but also as a helpful business tool. I have sneakily used it to find information about my business rivals. I discovered the products that my opponents use to enhance their customer satisfaction, and I use those secrets to my advantage. After putting what I learned into my business, my customer satisfaction increased by 72% and my profits increased by 26%. The only problem that I have experienced with ChaCha is that with a growing number of users, my questions are often unanswered. I would highly recommend any larger business owner trying this service.

ChaCha Started Out As a Great Thing I joined ChaCha back in 2007 soon after it was created and in the beginning it was one of the greatest ways to earn money online that I could find. I easily made $100+ in just a couple days with no problems. Fast forward to the present and things at ChaCha are much different now. With the 3 separate Guide Roles you can choose different jobs that you would like to do, but computer generated answers have cut way back on the amount of questions you receive. The traffic also tends to have dropped off quite a bit since those original days. I know SMS Guides that are barely breaking $1 a day in earnings. And that is working all day just to get that. They pay scale has dropped several times over the past few years as well leaving most Guides unhappy, but I suppose everyone finally adjusted and lived with it. There is never an issue getting paid. On the rare occasion you didn't receive your money as promised you can email them and they will quickly remedy the solution. While they don't offer Paypal as an option you can choose a monthly payout once a month to your bank account or get a FIB account so you can choose payout when ever you like, no matter the amount. The downside to the FIB option is the $2 fee per transaction that is charged using this method. Overall, ChaCha is a pretty descent work at home job and I do know people that earn upwards of $1000 per month this way because they use it as a full time job. For me their just isn't enough traffic to earn this type of money without being online all day long, which I don't have time to do. It is, however, a pretty easy way to make a few extra dollars while your online. |

Neat site! Among all the money earning websites I have joined, ChaCha was one of the websites I have used. ChaCha is a website where it works similarly to Yahoo Answers, but instead, you get paid!I joined ChaCha about 5-6 months, hoping to explore new ways of making money, and ChaCha was the right place to start! Guides can make at least $3 per hour just by answering questions. One thing I did not like about ChaCha was the fact that they had to pay you by direct bank deposit to your bank account, and this only would happen when you have at least $100 in your account balance. I personally preferred Paypal, but overall I did not really mind about being payed by direct bank deposit, all I cared about was getting paid! Overall, I think ChaCha is a very good website to make money in exchange for a little brain power, so join when they're still accepting Guides because if they have enough, they will not accept new members! |

I Love ChaCha ChaCha saved my life! I signed up for ChaCha in September 2008. I became a ChaCha Guide the following month, after a series of tests (wow, it's already been a year). I remember jumping up and down when I got my acceptance email. I had lost my job of four years. I went from $18 an hour to $10.45 an hour. I was struggling to pay my bills. Every week I was falling more and more behind. I love ChaCha because you can log on anytime of the day and work. I bring my laptop to work and ChaCha on my down time. It has more than supplemented my income. It has given me a peace of mind. Can you type fairly well? Can you follow direction? ChaCha might be the answer for you too! Right now they are experiencing a hiring freeze, but keep checking back. They will be hiring again soon.

Great site I have been a chacha guide for a while now. I make good money from it as well. I would recommend them to anyone, because they are legit and have paid their guides including me. It's pretty much easy money. At first it may be kind of hard when you first start out but after you get the hang of it you will see that your earnings add up pretty quick. Alot of people say the test they give you before you can become a guide is hard, but it was quit easy for me. I like the fact that there are always questions for me to answer and that I never have to wait a long time to get one. Chacha has proven itself over and over again, and I believe they will be around for a long time. Even before I became a guide I used their system and I got some pretty accurate answers.

ChaCha is COOL! I have never come across something so unique as ChaCha... i did ChaCha for about two months... they pay monthly on time as promised... the only issue I had with them was the pay per question was too minimal... you spend 4 or 5 minutes researching and posting a question, and they reward you a whole 10 cents... you literally had to answer a ton of questions for it to be worth it... i learned a lot though... people would ask the strangest questions... my favorite were the questions that there are really no answers for... it gave you a chance to be creative and witty... i would recommend ChaCha to anyone needing a few extra hundred dollars a month with quite a bit of time on their hands.

ChaCha rocks! I am a ChaCha SMS Guide and I love it! I have been with ChaCha since 05/20/08 and my boyfriend has been with them since 12/11/06 (2 months after they first launched). Working with them is great because on average they receive 600,000 text messages a day. Of course there are some bad Guides, but most likely they are new. ChaCha is a fun, easy way to get answers on the go! They are definitely my mobile BFF as well! Being a ChaCha Guide is a great way to make extra money from home. I have been paid well over $2,000 just this year. So far my lifetime completed searches is at 15,634.

Great if you managed to get hired For me getting hired was the biggest obstacle of all, and I still am not hired. I consider myself a pretty knowledgeable person, and I am the type of person that loves to research things I am not sure about. Seeing that Chacha was looking for people like this, I decided to take the test to see if I qualified. I passed the first time, but never got hired. I waited a couple months before I finally gave up on this site. Maybe they have a list that they go by, so whoever passed the test before me, has more priority over the job. That is my guess though. If you get hired by ChaCha, consider yourself lucky. Currently they are not hiring any Cha Cha guides, so right now may not be the best time to hold your breath for them. |

ChaCha is a great place to work I had to applied twice to ChaCha before I was accepted. The reason is because I did not pass the qualifications test the first time around. After the second time I passed. I am currently working as a specialist. I enjoy the flexibility since I can log in and out whenever I want. Sometimes the questions people can ask can be on the strange side, but my suggestion is the keep it professional and try your best to research or give the best response you can. ChaCha pays on time. Depending on how busy is it and how fast I can get answers done, I make pretty good extra money. I average about $100 a month with them and I love it!

Good For Some But Not For Me Cha Cha is perhaps one of the sites that will work for some people, not all. I tried to get in as a guide and I took the pretest and everything came out well. However, I have yet to be hired. I've been trying for 7 months and still no luck. Sometimes they hire and sometimes they don't, but even when they were they just never asked me to work with them. I'm not saying they don't hire, but I am saying not everyone will get in right off. I don't like waiting, and I admit it's frustrating. I do like the outlook of the site and the welcoming atmosphere it gives out. It screams friendly. Now if only they'd hire me. I'll recommend this to anyone that wants to try it out, but I warn you, it will be a long waiting process to get hired here. |

Still Trying To Get Hired I have been trying to get hired with ChaCha for quite some time. Each time I go to the site and re-apply, I take the little test that is required, pass with no problem, then I wait, and wait, and wait. Still no response and I have not been hired with them. I have heard a lot of good things about the site; thus, my interest in it. I am now really having doubts as to whether the site is still legitimate or not. I would like to think that there are people still getting paid and eventually, I can join them all. Unfortunately, with the length of time that I have been trying and the fact that I still have not been hired, I am beginning to believe that it is a waste of time. |

Chacha is a great program! I have been with ChaCha for so long, and I absolutely love it. Being a guide is really fun and you make pretty good money. Also it's fun to read some of the questions people ask you. Being a ChaCha guide is so fun because you work from home and pretty much whenever you feel like working. It is also a really easy job (if you know how to type and answer questions fast). ChaCha is my favorite site and would recommend it to anyone/everyone. It's a good job to have! |

Really great if you work at it! I have an account with ChaCha as an expediter, which is basically rewording the incoming questions to send to the guides, or answering the questions from a pre-determined list of commonly used answers. It's very easy to learn how to navigate the site and it's a great way to make some extra cash while you're watching television. I received about $. 02-. 03 per question I expedited, which can really add up if you're working during a high volume time. ChaCha will send you emails notifying you if they need help during times when they're getting a lot of questions. If you can get a job with them, do it. They're a great company and provide great support (and their training program and reference guides are great). |

Looks fantastic---now if only I could get in I'm a grad student and a teaching assistant, so I'm both incredibly busy and incredibly poor, and picking up something like this on the side where I could earn easily whenever I want to would be awesome. Too bad ChaCha never seems to be hiring. That's understandable, since loads of people probably want to sign up for reasons similar to mine, but it's a little frustrating anyway the way the site's presented. Click on information about becoming a Guide, and it says "Wanted: Brainiacs" and similar taglines, but of course when you click "Get Started!" the site tells you that no, actually, they don't want you: they're not hiring right now. I couldn't find an option to be e-mailed when they do start hiring again, either, which seems like an easy and useful feature to add.

Never Got In! I heard of people making decent money, even had a few run ins with a few guides! I asked how they got hired? What's the secret? But no one knows! I applied a few times, took the little pretest and passed every time, just was never hired... hmm? I even got an email from them stating their now hiring guides, still didn't get hired! I heard the pay per answer was lowered and now they have a freeze on hiring! You can try and get hired, it just may be your number today :) |

Cha Cha Trouble in Paradise I was initially excited about signing up for ChaCha. I had heard of people making good money on the site and I wanted to be one of them. When you sign up you view a videotape and then take a test on the organization to prepare you for guide duty. To make a long story short, the video never played all the way through and I could not take the test even though I called them for help repeatedly on their 800 number. I never got a human voice. I also sent in my W2 to the agency and never got an acknowledgment. I also tried for an Expeditor position and did not have any better results. Since that time I have heard of guides being fired by ChaCha for unhelpful responses when they were trying the best they could. They also were not paid well when they were paid. I wouldn't trust this site.

ChaCha is pretty good I have applied to become a guide for ChaCha a number of times. I think they find a certain number of people that they need at a certain point in time. I have a cousin that works for ChaCha answering questions and she makes around $7 an hour. Although I have yet to be accepted as a ChaCha guide, ChaCha has provided me with answers to many questions that I have had. I will definitely keep trying to become a ChaCha guide. I recommend ChaCha to anyone who is in search of answers for a certain topic or who wants to make money and pretty much choose when they want to work.
