Hostmonster is a web hosting company managed by the same people from Bluehost. They offer competitive rates and a wide range of features. There service is used by over 600,000 customers, and the company has been around for many years. Their hosting plans are most suited for small business owners and individuals.
There are many web hosting companies out there and so many to choose from. Hostmonster is one of the more well-known hosting companies in the list. But the question is if their service measures up in the competitive web hosting market. Let’s find out.
Hostmonster offers unlimited space, bandwidth, FTP accounts subdomains and domain names. This is helpful for the marketer on a budget who wants to put multiple domains on one hosting account. Hostgator uses Linux and allows you to manage your site with cPanel, which is the best control panel in my opinion. They also support SSI, SSH, PHP5, Cron jobs, Ruby On Rails, Perl, Python and Front Page.
The few ecommerce benefits it comes with is the OS Commerce Shopping Cart, Agora Shopping Cart, and SSI secure server – all useful if you’re planning on setting up an online store. If you want to run scripts, you’ll have no problems because the account comes with 100 MySQL databases.
All accounts come with Wordperss, b2evolution, bulletin board script, poll/survey software, Moodle, Drupal, and Joomla. Most people will probably have their own templates and plugins for their content management system of choice but the tools are convenient if you’re starting from scratch. A basic log file and site stat script is also included (accessible with Cpanel).
Now let’s move on to their hosting plan. It costs $7.95 a month for 12 months or $5.95 for 24 months. Although this is an extremely cheap package, I don’t like the idea of being locked in for 1-2 years. The shortest plan is $7.95 for 3 months, but you are charged a $30 set up fee which makes the service more expensive than others in the short term.
How does Hostmonster’s uptime performance fare? Based on 3 different independent studies, Hostmonster delivers an average of 99.3% or more uptime during a period of 30 days. This is 1-2% higher than other popular hosting companies.
Customer support is a not a problem either. They offer a 24/7 toll free number offering multiple departments you can call so you don’t have to keep getting transferred to reach the right department. Their support is well-trained and was a pleasure to work with. If you have a minor issue, you can go to the knowledge base or submit a ticket while you work on something else.
To sum up, Hostmonster is a solid host. They have the best uptime of all the different hosting companies I’ve researched and used. Their servers also did not slow down my site and their customer support is solid which is very important as a web host customer. The drawback is their rigid hosting plans. I’d rather pay a little more to try out a web host for a couple of months rather than stay in a cheap annual plan. I would rate their overall package as a 7 out of 10.
Most of the reviews for Hostmonster is positive. But if you get thousands of visitors per day and use a lot of scripts, Hostmonster is not for you. For some reason, users report that their site gets taken down for extensive resource usage despite the fact that they advertise unlimited bandwidth (the only negative). For a basic website, Hostmonster is highly recommended but for a highly trafficked site, I recommend you look elsewhere.

Awesome hostings This is one of the best hosting services I have ever used. I don't use it now because I have switched to their other hosting company - Blue Host. Both of them are managed by reliable people. I got enough space for a very good price. They have a nice 24/7 support. They answer in just a few minutes. Their uptime is very good. Hostmonster supports PHP, Perl, MYSQL and this was good for me because the site I hosted there was PHP coded. You can register as many subdomains as you want. It is good that you can cancel when you want and you don't pay fee for this. They have an awesome offer - they give you 50$ Google voucher and do a free search engines submit when you buy a host. If you are searching for a good hosting service, try Hostmonster - you will be satisfied.

Great Service A+ Hostmonster is a great service and I am pleased to be one of their clients. I have never had any problems with my website and it is working at 100% capacity always. I don't know much about their customer service because I've never had any reason to contact them. I also love the fact that after buying the account I got about 175$ worth of advertising coupons on Google, Yahoo and other such services. I would defiantly recommend Hostmonster to anyone looking for reliable and professional hosting.

Hostmonster Is Reliable The only paying host I have registered with so far and use their services. The services they provide are quite impressive. Their customer support is active unlike others where you wait for 1-2 days for the reply. And talking about their hosting, my site has always been up and it never went down because of this reliable hosting. Otherwise if the host goes down it’s a big problem for the site owner. Also it’s a total loss for that period when it comes to internet marketing. Their fees are also not much for what they are offering in return. I would recommend it to the users who need this kind of cheap and reliable hosting.

It was pretty good I joined this webhosting website about half a year ago. My experience with it was pretty good. I didn’t have many problems working with it. It gave me a various amount of different packages that I could use. It was about 2 days before my website was up. I used one of the packages for a short time and figured afterward that I could use a more complicated package because I was getting good. This is a good web hosting website and I’m really loving it! I would definitely recommend it to everyone who is looking for a web hosting website.

Very Good Web Host! This is no doubt a very good hosting. This hosting provides many secured SSL services and a variety of different packages. It fixed the DNS pretty fast as well. Within 12 hours my website was up and fully functional. That was just the setting it up part. Now it came time to see if the website’s cPanel and Linux config were good. Turns out they were always updated. They had Fantastico Deluxo so I could download WP and other blogs on it easily. And their server was really quick, which I enjoyed a lot. Overall this was a great web host. I spent $50 a year on it and it's worth every single penny. |

Hostmonster not much of a host Have been using Hostmonster for my work at home job for a 1 month. I have had no issues in using this service. But, I do know people who have and that are not happy. I think the service is good if you have a lot of people who need to get a lot of emails. Horde is confusing to me because of all the features it has. Squirrel mail is a simply yet, fully functional email. Roundcube is also simple to use like Squirrelmail. I would recommend using Hostmonster for a short period because the server gets busy and people can not access their email. |

So good so far I joined up with Hostmonster a month or so ago. I like it. I had never used a hosting service before so I don't have anything to compare it to, but anytime I have asked a question I have received an answer back rather quickly. I think their customer service is pretty good.

Wasn't too good for my business site I joined Hostmonster when I was scouting out different hosting companies. I will say that the signup was relatively easy but after that, the site itself was a little difficult to navigate. I had a hard time trying to find what I needed. I had two sites at the time. I had one business site that generates a lot of traffic and a personal site that does not have as much traffic. What I noticed right away is that my business site was having problems. I was encountering server errors constantly. Support was great, but they could not always help with what I needed. My personal site, however, is still with Hostmonster. I have had no problems whatsoever with server issues or anything. It has worked great for me. I would have to say that if you have a site that gets a great deal of traffic, you might want to try something else. If you just have a personal site with limited traffic most of the time, this is one of the best. I feel that you do get what you pay for with Hostmonster. They are a great company and real easy to work with.

Hostmonster is not bad I have used Hostmonster in the past, it's not the best, but not the worst either. There are better host companies out there like HostGator that provide more for the same price. The Customer Support wasn't that great either. The overall flow and layout of the site is much to be desired.

It will work if you are into the website thing Hey, I tried this site but had to cancel because it was nothing like what the tutorial explained. I just wanted a way to start earning online, but I guess it did not work for me because I was no computer genius. The support team were there 24/7 to help, but they could only help to a certain limit, then you were on your own. The great thing was that I got my money back 100%.

My time at the site was great, but had some flaws Upon finding hostmonster, I found signing up and paying for my service very easy. It was a simple process. But I found myself in an issue with getting support with a few issues. I signed up and was notified I would receive some information to login within 24 hours of my purchase. I waited a full 48 hours, and contacted their customer service, in which took me a on a long trip of redirecting and such, and getting a new person. This made me very frustrated. I finally got my information and got all setup. What I am getting at, is the site has poor customer service, and doesn't get to the point of what I need. |

Not the best one Guys, to be honest, I do not like using Hostmonster as my primary host. The main reason behind this is that I run forums and you must know that forums require great servers with 99.9% up-time or we get different types of errors. From the very beginning, I experienced great difficulties with Hostmonster. I don't know whether it is good for a normal website or not but I had many problems with my forum. Most of the time, I got MySQL database error whereas there was no problem with it in reality. This was only due to server downtime. Moreover their price is also not really reasonable as compared to their service. I guess that it is a bit expensive. I have found many other hosts which are ten times better than Hostmonster and they are even cheaper than it. So I prefer using other great hosting services instead of Hostmonster. |

Highly Recommended for Personal Hosting! I've used HostMonster for a personal website some time back (although I switched later on to a much cheaper web host) and found it to be a pleasant experience. Never a down time in all my six months of being under them (I guess it's because I never exceeded my bandwidth during that time). Support is great as well. They never failed to reply to my queries within 12 hours, which is rare for web host support anywhere. No hidden costs to jump at you from nowhere as well. What is advertised at the site is what they will charge you. But I found an offer that's less expensive than HostMonster's package and almost the same service (a local web host) so I switched to it. If only the prices of HostMonster were a little closer to that of my current web host, I would definitely switch back because HostMonster has never given me any problems. Price aside, I think HostMonster has one of the most reliable web hosting services around! |

Average host Not a bad host, but not outstanding. My website seemed to have a 99% uptime, so it was up most of the time, although it did go down for a short period of time. However, if this does happen, there's 24/7 live chat available if you need help with anything.

Good host for a personal website I signed up for a year of hosting a while ago and basically just used it for a personal site for my friends and I to mess around and test some code on. The overall experience was good but I really never used it for much more. I'd recommend it for people who are the same situation as me, using it for a personal website. I've read a few other comments about them cutting off your host but this never happened to me. Overall great experience.

It was good, but there are better ones This is a good hosting site and it has worked. For me, my blog sometimes got errors when I tried to visit it, but it didn't last that long. The problem that I have is that it costs a bit more than other web hosting sites and I decided that I wasn't going to use this anymore when I can get it for cheaper somewhere else.

It's awesome! It's not that bad of a program for web hosting. I do use Hostmonster as a web program for one of my websites that I have created. Like most people, I was hesitant on joining, because I wasn't sure if this web hosting was a scam, since it isn't really a famous out there web hosting website. I then found out they have over 600,000 members that are happy with them, so I decided to give it a go. The one really good thing about it is that you have unlimited bandwidth transfer and unlimited storage space! If you ever have any problems with the web hosting, you can contact them on live chat, which is on 24/7. That's a great thing, as If I'm having problems, I don't like having to contact through e-mail and wait two weeks for a reply. It's easier and simple this way. I recommend this program for web hosting! I just found out that if you join now, there is a promotional offer for only $3.95 a month! I would definitely give it a go if I were you. |

Good Hosting Service, Too Much Cost I looked into HostMonster to provide web hosting for my blog (I wanted to make it into a domain). The features looked good and it seemed to have a fast, reliable server. I purchased a three-month hosting service package but didn't purchase a domain from them. I decided to try HostMonster out as a web host as I liked the amount of amount of gigabytes they offered and the unlimited bandwidth. I was hesitant at first because of the price, but decided to try it. My service was okay. It wasn't as fast as I had thought it would be and there were a few times that I saw a "webpage could not be found" error message (that only lasted a few minutes). It's decent service, I will say that, but I chose to go back to Yahoo's web hosting for a much smaller price and slightly better service. |

Not recommended for sites that get a lot of traffic! Even though hostmonster is one of the top hosting sites around today, I have tried them before and actually found my site down for a few hours. When contacting them, they said that I had a surge in traffic and their bandwidth was down and they apologized. Being that my site is a money making site, I didn't appreciate this because it cost me a few hours of money! After that incident I chose to switch to GoDaddy for my hosting needs. This may be a good hosting site for small sites, but when it comes to getting a lot of traffic, I surely do not recommend it.

A pretty Okay sort of host. My experience with this host was rather short-lived, but that was mainly because I found bigger and better companies out there. I was new to this arena when I found this Host claiming to offer one of the cheapest packages around and with boatloads of features but a long-term contract. I didn't really like the host even at that time but my business partner was all over it so I gave a try. We had to signup for a whole year's contract! The kind of website we were looking to build was an average one but we WERE expecting the traffic to grow, so the Host suited us, or at least we thought. Everything went well for the first couple of months, but as soon as our traffic got really well and we started earning good money from AdSense, out site got taken down for 'extensive data traffic usage' even when they advertise 'Unlimited Bandwidth' ! Even the Customer Support, which was so friendly and helpful at other times, didn't have any answer. In the end, I'd only recommend this for a small website with less visitors, and still you should be ready to move to another host as soon as your traffic peaks. |
