Opinion Bar is a free online survey site owned by European company Metrixlab. Metrixlab has offices in Rotterdam, London, Paris, Hamburg, and Madrid. Members of Opinion Bar can make money by doing surveys, product testing, taking game-like surveys, sorting through images, and being the first to view new websites and television commercials.
Members of Opinion Bar will make between $1 and $10 for each survey they complete. Then members have the choice (once they reach the $10 payment threshold) of making a payment request or of donating the money to one of the charities that Opinion Bar supports. The names of the charities which are supported are not listed on the website. If you decide to request a payment they are sent out on the first of the month to your bank account by direct deposit.
To be able to take the surveys you must download the Opinion Toolbar. This toolbar will stay on your computer and track which sites you are visiting (though you do have the option of turning it off when you desire). When you come across a website where they are taking opinions you will be asked if you would like to take part in the survey. The terms of service for Opinion Bar states that the toolbar is downloaded AS IS (yes, they had the emphasis placed on the AS IS) and that Opinion Bar assumes no responsibility for what happens from usage of the toolbar.
Signing up for the program is fairly quick and easy. You just fill out a basic information sheet, then you will confirm your email. After you have verified your email address you will be asked to fill out a profile survey, this survey will help you get approved for other survey opportunities. Then you just watch your toolbar for surveys or wait for invitations to arrive in you inbox.
If you're looking to earn money online taking surveys, you will want to check our top recommendations for Legitimate and FREE Paid Survey Companies
Opinion Bar appears to be a reputable company. People are getting paid for completing surveys. But, a lot of people have trouble with the toolbar and from what I can see it is a little difficult to remove if you decide you want to get rid of it. Another concern of some members (and potential members) is the fact that they only do payments via direct deposit. A lot of people are uncomfortable giving their banking information to an online survey company. But, if you don't have any problems with the toolbar or the direct deposit aspects, then Opinion Bar is a site where you will be able to generate some revenue or a great way to support a favorite charity.

I like the revenue from this site I signed up for Opinion Bar a few months back and am having good success with it. I liked the fact that the toolbar was so easy to download and it works like a charm. I will have to say that at first I wasn't getting many surveys because of my surfing habits. Then, when I became more and more involved in sites like Amazon, Ebay, Craiglist, etc. , the surveys really started coming. I figure that it must have liked the things I was looking up on those sites. Anyways, I have been able to cashout several times. Instead of giving them my main bank account, I gave them the account number and rounting number to one of my prepaid debit cards... Netspend. This is where all my payments go to and they have always been made with no hassle. I really like this site and it is bringing much needed income in to my bank account. I would give this a try.

If you want to reach payout you need some extreme patience! Another survey site that is a let down. I cannot comment how well this site works for US citizens, but if you are like me living outside the US I wouldn't even waste my time with "Opinion Bar". I will tell you the reason why. It's simple - they make it out that you will receive regular surveys to participate in and how it's so easy to make money. Nothing could be further from the truth. When I first signed up I received a few surveys after about a week, and I thought this would be a gold mine. However after that, I haven't received anymore. The worst part is - this was 4 months ago. At this rate it will take me 2 years to reach payout. Pointless.

Impressive, technically Here, you gain a toolbar that does it's thing whilst you surf the net. You do earn from your opinion, most of the time related to your interests, as it's triggered from the specific websites you visit, albeit only the ones they deal with. That in itself is very clever, and so for anyone still a bit skeptical about paid survey sites, at least there's no cost and it's not the same old boring drizzle every time! My only worry lies in that.. Well, is this secure? I found no problems with it whilst I used it, but as I couldn't guarantee my detail's safety, I decided to withdraw. Worth a go though, I'm just over-cautious personally!

Needs some improvement As a memmber since Feburary 2009, I think this site is just ok. It could use some improvement. I do not like that you have to give them your bank information for direct deposit. They should issue checks or pay pal payments. It would be more secure and safe for members. The toolbar is difficult to uninstall as well. I am not happy with it so far. If they do improve on payments, then I may continue to stay a member.

Epic Fail! After a friend recruited me to opinion bar, I immediately signed up for this. The site pays you about $2 a survey which I find helpful since I am a student and I need a lot of money for my school works. Every time a survey comes, they will email you about it if they think you are eligible after you customized your profile which includes information about yourself. At first, I was really amazed by this site but when I tried to contact them and still they do not respond, I became really frustrated and immediately ended my connection with them.

I like this survey site! When I joined OpinionBar, I was immediately invited to 3 of their surveys but when I went to the site, the survey was already closed. I didn't know that paid surveys have a limited number of participants. Once this number has been reached the survey will be set to closed. I like the fact that when you reach the required minimum of USD 10.00 you can receive the rewards in your bank or donate them to a charity of your choice. I invited my friends and relatives to join OpinionBar because you will receive one entry in the prize draw for each invited person. The prize is a Dell mini-laptop. I would definitely recommend this site.

A lot of good features OpinionBar is a decent survey site with a lot of great features. I've been a member for less than a month. Some of the good features are: 1. There is a bar status during the survey that shows you how far you are close to completing the survey 2. A low payout, only $10 3. Paypal payments (no waiting on a check) 4. Donate your earnings to a charity 5. Payments processed during the 1st week of the month To increase your earnings simply fill out the 9 profile surveys. They use the profile surveys as general information in their database to send you out the paying survey invitations. During my time here, I have found that the surveys that are sent to you are really redundant, meaning the basically ask you the same exact question, but in different ways. I don't like that aspect of the survey process. Another thing I don't like is the limited number of responses to there survey invitations. Basically as soon as you get an invitation, you have to quickly respond or else you might miss out on that survey's cash reward. This site is pretty good in my opinion, if you like taking surveys for additional income. |

Not worth it Well I am an international user and I can say this site isn't really good for making money. I get like 1 survey every week, the surveys usually give $1-2. For all the wait I don't recommend it. You might get better results if you live in the US, but for international members it's not worth it.

Just like the rest... This site is just like the rest of them. They claim that you can make all this money. I have a lot of time and they used to send me surveys all the time and now I don't get any. I recommend researching before using this site.

A Good Survey Site I was a member of Opinionbar back in 2000. The surveys they sent are worth $2 and with a payout of only $10, it's not to hard to reach. I received 2 payouts from this site and both reached within a month. So that, I liked. However after awhile the surveys became less, and the earnings became a little more difficult to reach. The site is laid out pretty well, and everything is easy to understand. I love that the site also allows you to view surveys that you have already taken. It is a great site for steady earning. I truly have no complaints about this one. |

Not so good experience with this one I signed up after reading the rather positive comments here, but I was rather disappointed by the actual execution on their site. You get surveys as promised, but some of them are totally worthless or redundant (as they are clones of each other). More and more people joined and the actual payment per survey went downhill pretty fast, making it near impossible to get to the actual cashout threshold. I gave up on this one pretty fast as there are other methods much more interesting. |

A not bad survey site I have joined OpinionBar for a year, which is just OK. It is a pretty legitimate survey site that you can get payment with PayPal. The surveys are really easy and interesting and each one is $2. You can also choose to donate your earnings if you’d like. Unfortunately, they do not give me a lot of survey opportunities since I have joined so I give it a C.

Surveys should be more frequent Even though I give them a just OK rating, I think that Opinion Bar is pretty good. The site does need some work, such as sending out more surveys. I do think that the pay they give for surveys is great. I am tired of making peanuts for the time I give survey companies, but Opinion Bar pays good, from $1 on up. I also like the fact that if I am in the good will mood I could decide to donate my earnings if I choose. Filing out the profile questions is breeze and does potentially help you get more surveys so they can match you up better. I think it is a good site and would recommend anyone joining it. |

I think this is a pretty good survey website I was very nervous to download the toolbar because I did not want it to damage my computer in anyway but it did not and now that it is installed I don't have any problems with it. I get survey opportunities every now and again which I enjoy taking them and the pay is pretty decent usually between 1-10 dollars and sometimes they could worth more depending on what the survey is about and how long it will take to complete it. I have am uncomfortable with having the money sent directly into my checking account because I have 3 free separate checking accounts so I had the money deposited into the account that I rarely ever use. I have made a total of $32 by taking surveys over the last few months and haven't had any major issues. Except one time I was in the middle of a survey and for some reason I was logged out when I was almost done and I never received credit for it. I emailed support and I got a general response that they received my question but I did not hear anything back after that so bugged me. But overall, I think it's a pretty good website.

Not the right survey site for international members Opinion bar was one of my favorite survey sites because they allow international members like me from Germany and pay with paypal. The earnings were at least 2 dollars per survey, what is reasonable. In the beginning I got some surveys frequently, about 1 every 2 weeks, but unfortunately since the beginning of 2009 this has decreased to now literally zero surveys. I don`t know if this has something to do with the economic crisis, or they prefer giving surveys to US members first (or both), but as an international member you will for sure not get rich with them, at least in the moment. However, if you get surveys, they pay correct, and the surveys have no technical issues, are interesting about daily issues and can be done in a timely manner. So I give them a just OK.

Used to be better When I first signed up I noticed that there were a lot more survey opportunities available than there are now. I agree with the other comments as this is actually a legitimate site and it does pay out (and it's a nice option to be able to donate to charity too), but lately it's been lagging in that there are not as many surveys that there used to be. The toolbar thing was annoying at first but it's not that big of a nuisance, so that hasn't been much of a problem for me.

Can't really complain Although the idea of completing surveys for money doesn't seem all that appealing, this site gives you option of doing surveys suited to your individual interests. Doing ones based on sports or game related things managed to grasp my appeal and keep me occupied longer. Although, after a few weeks I noticed a drop in the opportunity to take more surveys (less emails from them about surveys that is). They need a little improvement, though, before they can earn that letter B grade they are close to earning. I'd say it's great while it lasts.

Great pay out amounts but nowadays non I signed up to opinion bar after it was recommended to me by a friend. It pays you about $2 a survey which is great and a lot more than other survey sites I'm with pay. They send you emails of surveys they think you are eligible for after you complete their short online profile which includes normal basic info about yourself, shopping habits etc. At the beginning I really did think this site was great. I was getting paid on average $2 or more to complete a short survey. But now the surveys are much less frequent and the contact team isn't very responsive and still haven't got back to me about my enquiry into the frequency of their surveys.

It needs to be worked on When I first signed-up, I thought their surveys were pretty decent and I liked them fairly well. However, a few months ago I noticed that there was a problem with their security certificate on some of the surveys. I immediately left the site because I didn't want my information to get stolen. Still, I don't think this was their fault and I would be willing to give them another go in the future. They just need to improve their site first. I'd give it a few months. Basically, if you join, just be careful and pay attention to anything strange you come across.

Pretty good Everything is well laid out and easy to understand. I like how you can check on the site for surveys as well as getting emails about them. I also like that you have a choice to donate your earnings or receive them through PayPal. It's really nice that you can see a list of what surveys you took, when you took them and how much you made on them. I can't really say there's anything I don't like about the site. My results so far are pretty good, so I'd say this is a decent survey site that would be worth joining.
