Subvert and Profit Description

Subvert and Profit is a service that helps marketers get more exposure in popular web 2.0 sites. It also offers an opportunity for web 2.0 users to make money by voting sites and helping these marketers get the traffic they need. There has been some controversy about the effectiveness and ethics of using services like this. Let’s see how the results have been.

Subvert and Profit Detailed Overview

Getting your websites on popular web 2.0 sites like Digg and StumbleUpon can really get you the exposure you need. However, your story or site must be in the top lists in order for you to get the traffic, press, and backlinks you need.

Subvert and Profit is a solution to this problem. Because it’s really difficult to get your listed in the top, you can use the service to get votes or bookmarks on these sites. You can buy votes/bookmarks on Digg, StumbleUpon, iLike, Newsvine, Mixx, Kongregate, BlinkList, Delicious, dzone, Diigo, Propeller, Sphinn and thesixtyone.

You can also get votes for video sites like Youtube, LiveVideo, Metacafe, MySpace, Flixster, Bebo, Dailymotion and imeem. You have to make sure you know what you’re doing when using video sites as you can waste your budget if you’re looking to convert the traffic into direct sales.

Most of the votes cost $1 each. I actually found this a bit on the expensive side as you need a large number of votes on some of these sites to get the exposure you want. For example, you may end up having to spend hundreds of dollars in order to get your site in the top 100 of Digg.

There is a bit of controversy using this kind of service. You have to ask yourself if you are cheating the system by using a fake voting system. This is obviously a blackhat strategy, and you risk having your sites banned if you are caught using this strategy.

The site Digg has actually put Subvert and Profit on their ban list and is on watch to see if their top stories are being manipulated to the top. Despite that, marketers who’ve used Subvert and Profit have gotten the results they have wanted on other sites.

The other site of Subvert and Profit is being a voter. You will earn anywhere from 40 cents to 60 cents every time you vote for an advertiser. In addition, you earn 5% of the money spent from referred advertisers. According to the site, they protect you from being found out by web 2.0 sites. There have still been reports of user bans associated Subvert and Profit, so it is not without any risks.

Note:  If you're on IM Report Card because you're looking for a way to make money online, then you should check out our top recommendation.  It's the best method we've found that anyone can use to earn income online.  Click here to learn more!

Subvert and Profit Reputation

In conclusion, many marketers have used Subvert and Profit successfully, but you will need to know what you want from the service as it’s not easy to turn votes into direct sales. Many people have used it for backlinks, press, and getting subscribers to their email list. Just remember that you are always running the risk of getting your site banned on these web 2.0 sites by using a service like Subvert and Profit.

Users who’ve gotten involved with Subvert and Profit as a voter have reported that the earnings can be very low. On average, earnings can be $2-4 per week. While this isn’t a lot it only takes a few minutes to vote or bookmark stories on web 2.0 sites so you’re making a lot of money for little effort. Subvert and Profit does pay out and can be a source of extra spending cash but remember that you always run the risk of getting your account banned.

You wont make much

The payout is 10$, you would think that it is pretty good because it's low. But honestly.. it takes weeks and maybe a month just to reach that payout. They do not scam, I have gotten paid once so I can vouch for them. The tasks on the site are rare to me. It would take a while for me to get tasks, sometimes I had to wait 2-3 days. So I would recommend to stay away from this site unless you have the patience. The site also has viruses that I am aware of, so that is another reason to stay away from the site. But if you have the patience and are not concerned about the viruses give it a try.

Looks fine to me

I was searching for a site to advertise an article I was promoting on Digg when I found Subvert and Profit. Their prices for advertisers are unbelievable high and I didn't consider, even for a second using them. But I saw they had an option to join as a voter, so I figured I could give that a try, make some extra money.

I registered, I installed their toolbar, I submitted and verified my Digg account and I waited. And waited, and waited. It was a long wait until finally the toolbar informed me that I had a task to perform. It took me 5 minutes to complete the task and I was rewarded with 60 cents. In three months, since I'm a member I was asked to perform only 4 tasks. My bet is by the end of the year I'll make the ten bucks I need to withdraw them.

Two weeks ago they sent me an email informing me that they have introduced Facebook fans and I should submit my Facebook id because they need workers. I did that, but when I perform the task and I push the "Verify" button it tells me that the task is not complete. I don't understand why that happens. I informed them about my issue but I haven't received any answer yet.

Not making too much

I have at least a month since I joined Subvert and Profit. As a voter, of course, because it’s way to expensive to advertise through them. I installed the toolbar and I submitted first only my digg account. During two weeks I received only two task,s each one of 60 cents. Then I thought that maybe I should trying adding other accounts as well. I put up Twitter, Mixx, Delicious, Facebook, Youtube and Stumble Upon. Still nothing. After a while I received another digg task and just two days ago a Facebook one. The withdraw limit is at $10 through Alert Pay, and if I keep it up like this god knows when I’ll make the ten dollars I need.

Though it’s not time consuming, and the toolbar announces when there is a new task so I don’t have to check daily.

It's a good chance to make money

I am a user on this site and it is a good chance to make some extra money. You must register to some advertisers and after that you will receive a task from them. The most important advertisers are twitter, facebook, digg and youtube, but if you register other advertisers you can get more tasks and you can earn more money. You can install a toolbar if you use firefox and you will know at any time if you have task to do. They pay very good and the tasks are not heavy.

I think that this is a good opportunity for everyone.

Is not easy to make money, but is easy to try ....

Love this site!

I love this site! It was really entertaining for me in the past. You make money by digging, clicking, etc. I had doubt about this site but it has now become one of my favorite sites. I do not promote this site because I heard that the outcome for each user is unpredictable and I do not want to set up one of my referrals to get their account deleted or to get frustrated. I found that I was able to make money easily, usually cashing out about twice or thrice a month. I made about a total of $150 from this site before I quit. I moved on from this site to make money on better sites. I eventually got tired of clicking myself around. You can always try it and see if this works for you. I cannot suggest it or suggest for you to try it as I know different things happen to different people. As for me, it went really well.

Make money online with help from:

Some Poor College Kid's Blog

Another face of PTC

I found this site while I was trying to get an article from my blog in Digg’s Top 100. For each vote you get between 40 and 60 cents depending on which site you cast the vote. To get a vote for one of your pages is double. So to gain one vote you have to vote two times.

Sooner I realized that this site isn’t going to help me get where I wanted. I did receive stuff to vote for, and I did gain some votes for my article but the process was long. In a month I managed to rise as much as 6 votes.

I was very disappointed and I just gave up. I could have stuck with it for another month to make 10 bucks and withdraw it but I didn’t.

Great potential

For the time it takes to actually complete the tasks, the payout is really good. It also has a very high efficiency as viewed from the advertiser's perspective, as it actually gets the votes rather than just views that might lead to votes. So I believe it is actually more cost efficient too for the advertisers.

I have been paid four times so far, a total of 50$, so scam is not an issue. People have been speaking about the moral issues, but then again advertisers have been paying to get their ads to the public through every channel imaginable, so why would this be any different?

I believe people will see the huge potential this type of marketing possesses and it will eventually become mainstream. For now, the developers should focus on becoming user-friendly, since there are some difficulties the user must face when having to complete a task.

Definitely worth trying

I have been a member of Subvert and Profit for quite some time now, maybe about an year. The site is definitely legit, since I myself have been paid 6 times. I'm not talking about some big sum of money, just about 62-63$ in total. The question is, is it worth the time stumbling and diggin websites just for some cents (0.40 to 0.60 $). If you have the time, then some extra money are always welcome, even if they are 10$ a month (or two).

Now a word about the payments. I've personally waited for a payment from 3-4 days to more than a month and was never able to understand why sometimes you almost don't wait for your payment and others it takes more than a month.

The site support also is at a very respectable level. Your questions or problems will most likely be solved within 2 to 12 hours (at least that was my case).

My conclusion is that it's worth checking the site out. You decide whether it works for you or it doesn't.

It's ok at least they pay

From my personal experience I can say that Subvert and Profit pay, I have been paid 3 times. However, it has taken me weeks to accumulate $10 to payout. Subvert and Profit only pays by Alert Pay, which is a minor annoyance because I prefer Paypal.

I'm not aware of any virus' linked to or related to Subvert and Profit directly in anyway, but on very rare occasions my browser has frozen though I cannot be sure it's caused by Subvert and Profit's toolbar. The issue I have is lack of tasks!

So therefore it's ok, but need lots more tasks a week. This site is certainly better than most PTC sites, that's why I'm willing to take the risk and continue using it.

Mylot - Better than 99.9% of forums, it pays you. Peoplestring - Better than facebook, it pays you. EasyHits4U - One of the best traffic exchanges, highly recommended for promoting. Just Host - One of the best/cheapest site hosts.

Not worth the time, effort and unethical tasks

I believe this one is really a slow earner site. Tasks don't pay that low, but you get barely any tasks here and there. After you do get any, if you don't act quickly you will miss your chance. I really don't think their tasks are ethical because they would ask you to vote on a variety of well know social networks like YouTube, SumbleUpon, Digg, etc. You can get your accounts banned because it goes against their rules to buy votes from people. Another thing I don't like is that you have to download a toolbar and have it there in your browser 24/7 if you want to make any money. This site also carries a lot viruses that can harm your computer and lots of people claim that they have never received any payment from them. When I found out what was this site was up to, I didn't bother to go there again. My recommendation is to do proper research first before falling for scams like this one.

Beware of Viruses

I joined this site because I heard that it could help me make a little extra cash. I didn't make a lot here because I was one that actually read things rather than just clicking on everything for monetary gain, as a matter of fact, I never did reach payout.

After being a member of the site for a month or so, my computer kept freezing up while I was on the site. At that point, I did a complete virus scan and found that my computer was getting viruses from that site. I am sure that these viruses were not something that the site owners were aware of, so I do not blame them. However after the third time of having viruses come from that site, I uninstalled the toolbar and never returned to the site.

Pretty Good,

Not a bad site, not anything you can put work and sweat into to bring out some really nice profits, but after a few months with it I made $16 for half an hour max of work. Pays directly into Alertpay in around 3 days and I didn't find anything too bad about it. The best thing you can do is refer yourself, and if you have the time just log in to all your accounts through out the day. To avoid getting their members banned, they don't give the same tasks to all the members, so you'll usually get separate tasks for each member. Then just send your alertpay money from the accounts you referred yourself with and you can be making an easy $30 a week with a little initial setup and doing tasks a few times. I just check once a day and some weeks I get tons and others not so much. I suggest having Digg, SumbleUpon, and Youtube accounts as I get a lot of tasks from those three.

I have come across better

I was a member of this site for a little while when I found out it just wasn't worth the time. I did download the toolbar but I had a problem with it locking up my browser. I was able to contact support and with their help, we got it fixed. I will say I was happy with the customer service as they were very helpful and quick to address my concerns with the toolbar. What I didn't like about the program is that after all the time I was a member, I only made $2.40. This is a ways from payout. I didn't like that I hardly ever had any tasks to do. I would not advise staying away, but there are better programs out there.

Just wasn't for me

A friend of mine was a member to this site for a few months, and since things was going pretty good for her at first I decided to join. I participated on the site for about a week. In that week I was able to earn $1.80. After voting and completing tasks for a week I decided to let the site go. I started hearing from people about their accounts getting canceled, so I just stopped because it was too risky. My friend is still on the site and is still making money and is getting paid, so they do pay. I wouldn't say this site is a scam but for me it's not worth the risk. I wouldn't personally refer anyone to the site. With this site I think you will have to experience it and then make your decision from there.

Another way to gain some extra cash

I really can't understand why some people are having negative reviews to this program.

I joined it couple of months ago and I got paid from them 3 times already. Sometimes the tasks are rare but at other times I found 2 or 3 tasks at the same time. For me I like it and I encourage people who have some free time to give it a chance.

Annoying toolbar and task notifications

A lot of people claimed to be making good money from this site. I signed up as a social media user. I was told to download their toolbar and I did. I went through the painstaking task of verifying my social media accounts and it took so long coz I was constantly getting errors. I had to uninstall and repeat the download process of their toolbar. It kind of looked annoying up there but I thought I would bear with it if it would bring me some cash. Sadly, it didn't. The notice below my browser always says "there are no tasks for you". I put up with it for over a month, and I got fed up and uninstalled their toolbar. I don't know how it worked for everybody else, but I wasn't happy with the program at all.

Making Money Online Tips !!!

We're not gonna be overnight millionaires by working online, but e few extra Cash, would be great!

This is a good Site

I enjoy earning with this Site. You earn by voting and digging and stumbling on stories. I have been paid many times. I downloaded their Toolbar which notifies me when there is a new task to do. You get paid around 60cents for a list of stories but this only takes a few minutes to do. The payout is at $10 but I manage to reach that roughly every three months. The trick is to do the tasks as soon as possible as they do go fast.

I do recommend this Site as it does pay and though not a fast earner, it is easy to earn with and it is a site that pays.

Stay away!

I joined this site called Subvert and Profit as they supposedly pay 40-60 cents per every vote on social sites (Digg, Youtube, Bebo etc. ). So I created accounts on those sites they offer, and even downloaded their toolbar. I waited and waited, days and days, but I never got any tasks to do. Finally, I did some research and found out that the site is possibly a scam or something.

I agree with people who say that the idea is unethical. Just think about it, people buying votes from us. For example Digg doesn't like that kind of behavior, it's against their Terms of Service and you could get your account banned.

Waste of time.

Pretty Lame

I joined the site about a year ago to add to my then-increasing list of Paid To Clicks. This one was a bit different. They pay you to vote for their advertisers on Social Bookmarking sites like Digg and Sites like YouTube and Metacafe. Although at first glance 40-60 cents may seem like quite a lot for just a vote, it's not that easy or simple. First thing, there aren't many jobs available. Secondly, the voting process is way longer than PTCs.

And lastly, it's just the thought of doing something so unethical that keeps many people away from it, and it also paved the way for me going out the site after two 'votes'. I'd just recommend to stay away from something like this!

Have heard it was a scam, but the hits aren't worth it anyway

I joined this site about a year ago, in order to gain a little cash, and to promote the few things I had on Digg and StumbleUpon. I didn't stay long because even though the clicks were worth more than a regular PTC (. 30-60 cents), I really didn't earn much because I only clicked on the stories that actually interested me.

I found quickly that I was one of the few that actually did reading, many of the members there are only members for the fact of earning, so when you submit your links there, they more than likely aren't getting read, just clicked.

After leaving, I also started hearing rumours about this site being a scam, because it is against the sites they list TOS to have a paid service for clicks. I did read into Digg's TOS, and it does state that they will ban accounts that they find to have used paid services in order to gain votes.

This service is very unethical, and although it does get the post counter clicking, whatever you place in there isn't getting the attention it deserves.
