Survey Spot Description

Survey Spot is a subsidiary of a larger market research firm, Survey Sampling International. It is a membership site that is free to join, and members can take surveys within the site. Compensation to members who take surveys can be cash, prizes or entry into weekly and quarterly program sweepstakes.

Survey Spot Detailed Overview

Survey Spot is one of many internet membership programs that work with outside companies to gather opinions from the public on a variety of things. Companies want opinions on products and services, or want to ask specific questions about consumer interests. The internet has made this easier, and sites like this one are taking advantage of it and profiting.

Survey Spot offers rewards to members who take surveys through their site. Though they do claim to pay cash for some of the surveys, most of the time it seems like they simply offer entry into sweepstakes. Prizes for sweepstakes run from $250 for winners of their weekly sweepstakes, to $25,000 for winners of their quarterly sweepstakes. You also get to play an instant win game when you finish a survey, and there’s a possibility that you could win an instant prize—usually cash.

If you do earn a cash incentive at Survey Spot, it usually takes about 4 to 6 weeks for it to show up in your account. The reason that they do this is because nobody gets credited until a particular survey has run its course and the required number of participants have taken it.

Joining Survey Spot as a member is completely free. You take surveys when you want; you’re not required to take a certain amount in order to qualify for compensation. Surveys can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 20 minutes.

Survey Spot Reputation

People who take surveys through Survey Spot report that the company does indeed pay when cash is owed, even though it can take a while to be credited and to be paid after that. The program always pays their sweepstakes winners, and rewards the people who take surveys for them regularly by offering them the most surveys. It’s not a lot of money, but it’s a legitimate program.

Decent, but I wouldn't recommend it

I have used this and I have to say it paid off reasonably well. Although some surveys wouldn't allow me to participate, those that did had extremely low payout. I probably wouldn't recommend this to a friend, and I think I'll just use other survey panels that have higher quality, payout, relation, and are shorter in length.

Really nice paying site

I joined Survey Spot about 2 years ago, so I could make a little bit of extra money. On the first day of joining, I received a lot of surveys to complete. There are non-paying and paying surveys. Although I do like to just complete the paying surveys, there were a lot of non-paying surveys and not enough paying surveys, which I disliked.

What I did like about Survey Spot was the fact that they were legit. I've seen a lot of payment proof and I have personally received payment from Survey Spot twice, sometimes it may take them awhile to process the payment, but they will eventually pay.

Overall, I think that this site is not a bad site, a lot of surveys to complete, some competitions and they actually pay, so that's good. I would advise people who are in desperate need of a little extra money to try this website out because it has a lot of surveys, even though there can be a lot of non-paying, there can also be a lot of paying surveys too!

SurveySpot is Fun

I joined SurveySpot since summer this year. They have a lot of surveys and whether you qualify or not for the survey, at the end you are directed to a page where you can play two "mini-games". One is a scratch type, where you hold the mouse and "scratch" to see how many entries into their $25,000 sweepstakes you've won. The amount is 5 entries, 25 entries, and 100 entries. And the other game, is a slot machine type, where you win entries, and on the rare occasions you actually win a prize.

Personally, I've only earned $1 in cash, and perhaps over 1000+ entries into their sweepstakes. For the most part, you don't get paying surveys when you're new to SurveySpot, and the only thing you can earn is entries until later on, they slowly start sending you emails to paid surveys.

However, overall, the site is pretty good; I would recommend the site. The surveys range from a variety of topics, and most of them average 10-20 minutes at a time. There are a handful that take less than 5 minutes and more than 30 mins. So, I do recommend SurveySpot as a site for people beginning to take surveys as a way of earning money.

It's ok, but there are better

I have belonged to this site for over 2 years now. In the beginning, I received mostly sweepstakes entry surveys. Then I learned if you went directly to the site, you were more likely to find the paying ones. For well over I year, I did paying surveys quite regularly. I received a fairly large amount of product tests. When ever I cashed out, I received my check rather quickly. Then for some unknown reason I stopped getting surveys sent to my email. I noticed it when I completed a product test and didn't receive the follow-up email. After some research, I discovered that the follow up had been sent but I never received it. I emailed Survey Spot but never got a response. I haven't been banned because I can still log in and take surveys. I am concerned about not receiving another product test follow up though. And that is one of the biggest downfalls; the site doesn't list available surveys. Instead it just rotates through surveys you can take. Unlike other sites, you can't log in and take a specific survey. It's ok, but there are better ones out there.

Survey Spot Is Good!

I have been a member of Survey Spot for a few years and it is one of my favorites out there. I have been paid many times and I have been picked numerous times to test products and be paid as well. I have received full size laundry detergent, socks, cereal, seasonings, refrigerator pastries etc. It is so much fun to try these products out and get paid to do it! They send me more surveys than any other site that I belong to.

The only drawback that I really see is that there are a lot of surveys that I do not qualify for and I have never won a prize from my countless tickets into their drawings. Maybe I will someday! :) I highly recommend Survey Spot to those who want to make a little extra money and try out some cool products.

Pretty good

There's nothing I would've wanted to know before joining that wasn't available via the home page.

I like that they send me emails for surveys and that I can log in and click on "Take a survey" whenever I want.

I don't like that they only show your current list of completed surveys and that those disappear when you cash out, but that's really not that big of a deal. Also that they don't show up at all until they've been credited to your account.

My specific results as being a member for a little over a year are that I've made a total of $87 doing surveys but have not won anything (cash or prizes) even with LOTS of entries. They do show proof of people's winnings, though, so the possibility is there. I'll keep my membership with this one.

Rarely Got a Paid Survey

I joined this site in hopes of earning some money by taking surveys. I received many of invites for surveys that only get you entered in something to win a prize. It wasn't worth my time to take those surveys. I rarely received an invite for a paid survey. I quit my membership on Survey Spot because I wasn't making any money there. Survey Spot is not the site to join if you are trying to earn money.

Can never qualify

I thought at first that I would love Survey Spot. But since I have joined about eight months ago, I have never qualified once for a survey. I did like the fact that after I was rejected from the original survey, they found another survey for me to do, but then again I got rejected by that one as well.

In my opinion, I do not feel like it is fair. I feel that they have me answer the questions that they need from me, then say that I did not qualify. I find it odd that I have never qualified for a single survey. I have not visited them for about a month since I find it to be a huge waste of time.

Survey Spot Was Great At First

Online surveys were what first got me interested in earning money online. I went through many scams to find a legitimate few and Survey Spot was one of the better ones I found.

It took me about 3 months to earn $20 to cash out with because a lot of the surveys offered were for sweepstakes entries or I just didn't qualify.

After I finally got my payout the number of money based incentive surveys from the site became non existent. I'm still a member, but it has been well over a year since I have seen a survey offering more then an entry. There are sometimes weeks that go by that I don't have any surveys available at all.

Now this all could just be from the fact that I am just not matching any profiles based on the information I gave and others may have had far better luck with them they I have. After all, this is only my own personal experience.

Pretty good survey site

I found that Survey Spot is a pretty good survey site, although, for me, it is difficult to qualify for surveys. They will allow me to attempt to qualify for other surveys if I do not qualify for the initial one, but, in my experience, it is difficult to qualify for many at all. They do offer an instant win game whether I qualify for a survey or not; usually I get an option between a slot game or a scratch off game. Overall, I enjoy this site.

Lots of survey opportunities

They send a lot of paid surveys, but most of them are for sweepstakes entries. But it's still a good idea to do them since it seems to help you get more surveys for cash. After doing a few surveys for sweeps, I got quite a few surveys that paid really well. I even got one that paid $6 for 15 minutes!

Overall, it's not the best survey site, but it's definitely worth a try. There are so many survey opportunities that you're bound to qualify for a good amount of them. And it's also very easy to cash out. I'm not sure if there's a minimum, but I was able to request payment when I had only earned $6. Definitely a good source of extra cash in your spare time.

This is a great paying site

This is one site that I recommend to everyone to try. I have been a member there for 5 years now. The payout is 5 to cash out. How it works is that they send invites to your email box for the surveys. I have gotten as many as 5-7 surveys a day to do. Some of the surveys you get cash for completing and some you don't, but you do get a chance at the end of each survey for a chance to win an awesome prize or get tickets for a cash drawing that they do. When you make payout you do not have to cash out if you do not want to. I have made over 200 dollars so far from them. I also have gotten many checks from them too. They say that it takes 4-6 weeks for the check to get to you but I have had mine in as little as 6 days. So the delivery is fast. I give this site a A+++ for their great work.

Good Survey Site

This is a pretty good site, I have won 50 on one of their instant win games and they paid me pretty quick through PayPal. They send you a lot of surveys to do with some of them attached with a 2-3 pay as well. If you qualify for these and complete them, they will deposit it into your PayPal account. At the end of all of the surveys they do have a scratch off ticket also with the possibility of winning more. That is where I won that 50. Don't get discouraged, most of the time the scratch off's are entries into their sweepstakes.

Survey Spot Too Many Non Paying Surveys

I like Survey Spot to a certain extent, because they almost always have surveys to take. The problem I find with them, is that 90% of the surveys I get are non paying. I try to take only the paying surveys.

They pay by check when you have at least $5 in earnings, and I have been paid a few times, but you have to wait several weeks for the check

to come once it has been authorized.

Too many unpaid surveys

I have been a member of Survey Spot for over a year now. The number one thing I've noticed with this website is that 75% of the surveys are nonpaying surveys. One positive side is that Survey Spot does send you an average of at least 5 surveys a day - it's just a matter of which ones pay and which ones don't. Then once you weed out the ones that don't pay you just have to cross your fingers and hope you qualify for the surveys that do pay!

Being a member for over a year, I've only reached payout three or four times. And each time was around $5-$10 dollars. Surveys are typically worth a dollar or two for about 20-30 minutes of your time. Not much money at all. Once in a while you'll find a survey worth a little more like $3 or $5. Payout is done through a check in the mail. Unfortunately they don't offer options for Paypal or Alertpay yet.

Survey Spot does send a lot of surveys. It is also legit and will pay you, but you have to be patient and willing to weed through all of the surveys to find the ones that actually pay. Which is very time consuming! Overall, I don't think the site is really worth all of the work for such little pay.

One of the best survey sites out there to join

I have been a member of SurveySpot since I first got a home internet connection in 2003, and it still holds today as one of my favorite surveys sites. I get 1-3 surveys from them daily. Sure, many of them aren't paid surveys, but what most people don't realize is the more short unpaid surveys you do, (these are called "screeners" in the industry), the more paid surveys you will get in the future.

And although payouts are low most of the time ($1-3), this is the only survey site where I have earned $50 for one survey. That one was a study about schizophrenia, where they actually came to my house and drew blood.

Finally, the site continues to improve. Now, instead of sending checks, they have listened to their membership and added PayPal as an option for payout. This will decrease the time it takes to actually get the funds that you have earned, and it costs less since you don't have a physical check to cash.

No, you won't get rich with this site, but you won't get rich with any survey site for that matter. SurveySpot is reliable, has plenty of survey opportunities for members, and is very attentive to it's membership, as Paypal is an option suggested by members. All in all, this is one of the sites you should really join if you are into taking surveys for money.

Decent Survey Site, but there are better ones out there

I've been a member of Survey Spot since April 2009, and have made a small amount from doing surveys for them. They pay by check (low cashout of $ 5), but it takes quite awhile to receive it after requesting payment. Survey Spot is obviously a large operation, as they have lots of surveys in their system at any one time. Problem is, many will only reward you with sweepstakes entries( I strongly prefer $$$), and the higher paying ones either I haven't qualified for or are not available when I try to access them. The ones I have qualified for tend to be long, so don't expect quick money here. I keep hoping that the survey payouts will be better if I stick with them and improve my standing with them (this can happen), but I'm not holding my breath. So while this site is definitely legit, you can do better at many of the other similar sites, in my opinion.

Paying survey site

I love survey spot. This was one of the first survey sites I joined. I get on average about 9 or 8 survey invites per week. I have been paid by them twice. The compensation for most of the surveys that they send is $1 to $3 per survey, sometime more. I also get quite a few surveys that have no cash value, but enters you in a drawing. I would recommend survey spot to others because I have been paid by them twice. The only thing that I don't like about survey spot is they pay with checks, which took about 3 weeks for me to receive mine. They don't have a paypal option. I also like the fact that they have been around for a while, so I know that I will get my money. I would also like to mention that I qualify for a little over half of the surveys that I am invited too.

I have yet to qualify for a survey

I've been a member of Survey Spot for a little over 2 months and have yet to qualify for a survey. I've spent a lot of time answering questions only to be told that I don't qualify for the survey. Frankly I began thinking it was a scam until I read some of the other comments that said they were actually being paid. All I can say is that I must be in a very undesirable demographic because this site has done nothing for me but waste my time and clutter up my in box. I belong to several other survey sites also and while they don't pay much I at least qualify for a reasonable number of their surveys.

It doesn't cost anything to join Survey Spot so you won't be risking your money but if you value your time I would recommend that you not waste it here.

It's Just OK!

Upon first look, the site is a complete mess. It's mainly the layout I'm talking about. There is no place to look at your earnings thus you have to keep track of them all by yourself.

Then, the surveys are not rewarding enough considering the time you spend. I only get about 2-3 surveys each month. They mostly just offer you entries into their sweepstakes and competitions which I have never won. Nor probably will.

Shortly, there are other Survey sites which are far more rewarding with more surveys and a better layout! There is no doubt that they pay, though!

Not the best survey site out there, but not bad either

Pluses:

-If you don't qualify for a survey, you get to play an instant-win game for chances to win some bigger prize. I've never won the actual prize, of course, even though I usually win 25+ entries into the drawing or whatever it actually is, but it's nice to get something instead of just "sorry, you don't qualify. "

-Regular e-mails with survey opportunities; if you're like me, there are a lot you won't qualify for, but you get enough chances that you'll be able to make something. Plus you won't forget about the site since the surveys come right to your inbox.

-Cashout threshold is only $5, one of the lowest I've ever seen, so it's very easy to make enough to cash out. Can't remember if there's a sign-up bonus, although with a payment threshold that low, I'm guessing there's not.

Minuses:

-A lot of the surveys aren't for money but only for the instant-win thing, which... I mean, that's great if you win, but are you really going to slog through a 20-minute survey for the same "prize" you'd get for disqualifying on a paid survey? I'm sure not.

-Overall site setup is kind of clunky.

-Can take a long time for payments to show up in your account, and you have to keep track of them yourself, since there's no place for pending payments.

It Is What It Is, A Site that Offers SOME Cash Surveys

I've been a member of this site for more than a year and have received payout a few times. If you are strictly taking surveys to make money only, then this would never be considered to be one of your main survey sites. But if you like making money from taking surveys, then you can earn a few checks each year with this site.

Survey Spot's points survey to cash survey ratio is probably about 10:1 and the amount they are paying for cash surveys have gone down quite a bit. In the last several months, the top cash survey that I was offered (but didn't qualify for) was $5 surveys. Most recent cash surveys fall in the $1-$3 range.

Survey Spot pays via check and the checks usually arrive in about 4 weeks (they say to expect checks in 4-6 weeks). Survey Spot always cuts a check upon request and I have almost always received the check within 4 weeks.

SS also has many surveys everyday that are good for points that go into bi-weekly drawings for gift cards and you also receive these points when you don't qualify for a survey and at the end of cash surveys too.

If you are a member, check out the site soon. They are running a football pool with weekly, monthly and seasonal cash prizes for the winners.

Survey Spot is what it is, but they are 100% legit, and they pay on time, every time!

At Least They Pay

If you decide to join this site be prepared to get a lot of surveys to do. Although most will be non-paying some will be for pay. I don't like that it takes so long to receive payment, but they have said that they will be paying through Paypal soon. Getting to play their instant win game at the end of each survey makes it a little more fun. If you want to make money doing surveys at this be prepared for the long haul. This is not a bad site, it is just not one of the better ones in my opinion.

Survey Spot Is OK

I think Survey Spot is a good site. I have been a member for over a year, have requested and received three payments so far. Even though most of their surveys do not come with a cash reward, I have completed several surveys ranging from $7 to $10. I personally find that the more free surveys you do, the more surveys with cash incentives you will receive. Each survey, even those that pay are followed by an instant win game, a scratch off, and a slot machine. By playing the game you will earn entries into their current sweepstakes. Today I received an email from the site saying they just started a new Football contest, where the member who picks the most winners each week will win $50. There is also a $100 and $500 prize to be won. Even though it can take quite a while to be paid, overall this is a good site to be a member of.

Survey Spot has gotten pretty cheap with their paid survey offers

I have been a member of Survey Spot for quite a few years. I have been disappointed with their "rewards" lately. They will send you an email that you qualify for example, a $3 survey, but then most of the time when you click on the link, it says you don't qualify and they will search for a new survey for you. Usually it's for a chance at their drawing and an instant win game, either a scratch off or spin a slot game. I never have won on either, although some people claimed they have.

They also do not make it easy to see if you do have any money in your account. (cash out is $5)You have to actually go out of the site, then search in your browser for surveyspot.com then log in and go to your rewards.

I have made money, and they do pay, It's just becoming a lot less lately.

Sometimes the merits of an item reviewed are pretty cut and dry, and/or there's only so much that can be said about it. When most users are all saying the same things about it, we will sometimes disable further comments on this review page.

If you have an opinion about this site or want to continue discussing it, please post in the Official Survey Spot Discussion Thread in our forums.
