When the New York Times called Joe Sugarman the "maverick of mail order marketing", it was actually an understatement. Joe Sugarman is a trailblazer, a visionary, and a brilliant marketing genius. His groundbreaking innovations completely revolutionized the world of direct marketing industry. With all the accomplishments and successes on his belt, Joe Sugarman remains a very engaging and warm teacher that has the passion to share his knowledge with other people.

Joe Sugarman was born and raised in Chicago. He was an Army man with a degree in electrical engineering. He was drafted in 1962 and eventually became a CIA operative in Germany.

Joe Sugarman’s baptism in marketing came from his experience selling Austrian ski lifts. He marketed these products to resorts in the United States. From ski lifts, Joe Sugarman ventured into pocket calculators. He was instrumental in popularizing these mini mathematical devices. He then proceeded to sell cordless phones and digital watches. These are all items that have become part of everyone’s daily life.

He took the challenging task of marketing the BluBlockers sunglasses. Through Joe Sugarman’s marketing strategies, twenty million pairs of BluBlockers were sold. In marketing these sunglasses, Sugarman used a unique advertising method called candid public demonstration. This method has since become the basis and model of modern infomercials.

Joe Sugarman was also instrumental in the use of toll free numbers for taking credit card orders over the phone. The concept was unheard-of before 1973. His company pioneered this method and has since then became the standard for the catalog and direct selling industries. The use of toll free numbers for taking direct orders completely revolutionized the marketing world.

Joe Sugarman was the recipient of the Maxwell Sackheim Award for his valuable innovations and significant contributions in the marketing industry. He was also the Direct Marketing Man of the Year in 1991.

Obviously, Joe Sugarman understood the importance of writing high quality and compelling sales copy. He is still considered as the foremost copywriter and his techniques and styles are still relevant today. He's a genius

I've bought one of his books when I had some problems with making money. My cousin recommended this book, because he bought it himself. I looked first who the author was of this book, and I checked him up on the Internet. On different forums I saw that Joe Sugarman had a very good reputation and his books had a good reputation. So this was enough for me to buy his book.

When I used the methods in his book to generate money, it helped immediately. Now I know why he has such a good reputation.

Nowadays, I still use some methods to make money that he has written in his book. I say that he is a genius, because his methods are really good and help you out if you are stuck.

Joe Sugarmen brings it in his insightful books

I purchased his book, "advertising secrets" for a friend also struggling with profiting successfully and I ended up reading it myself, then wrapping it up and giving to him for Christmas. Anyways, I'm glad I took the time to read it because it holds perspectives of consumer expectation and wants that I never even considered seriously. I could finally stop guessing at what people liked and was told how to make my web-shop accessible and appealing to provoke more conversions into sales. His book also taught me about how to optimize my SEO to get the best flow of traffic. Great guy, buy any of his books and you'll bounce back quickly.

Pretty Good

I found myself going nowhere in sales and I was seriously considering giving up on it. It was killing me financially, I really couldn't close a door. Mr. Sugarman's book was amazing for me. It turned me around and I wish I could thank him for that.

The biggest thing was learning the specific points of what makes people buy and how to actually pique interest. Most of the time before I was really just guessing and giving people mediocre presentations. His book helped me realize it was much easier than that.

Anyone who wants to stay in sales, but is having trouble, check out what Joe Sugarman has to say. It's not hype, it's just a real way to improve your sales skills and as a result, your cash flow.

THE greatest adman of the 21st Century

I’ve had the good fortune of buying both “Triggers” and “Advertising Secrets of the Written Word”. Both are great books, and if you are an aspiring copywriter or want to take your marketing career seriously and to the next level, you can’t go wrong with getting his best “Advertising Secrets…”.

They both pretty much say the same thing, the only difference is that “Triggers” is a short hand version of “Advertising Secrets…”.

If you want to get into the mind of the guy who sold over 20 million sunglasses and practically invented the pocket calculator – you can’t go wrong with studying Joe.

Very good!

A friend of mine gave me his book as a gift, without much understanding of who Joe Sugarman is, and before I read it I’m afraid to say I had never heard of him before. Well now I have and I’m seriously glad. This guy has clearly superior communicative sales skills and experience, and following the way he writes about techniques and then how he has used them successfully really got me thinking about the finer points of the psychology of making sales. If you are in the field, then I would recommend looking into what this guy has to offer, and I found that doing some research on NLP complimented his book for me excellently.

Buy the book!

Sugarman lives up to his reputation if you ask me. I bought his book some time ago because I was interested in how some people try to manipulate others in buying their products. In the end I wanted to give it a try myself to see if it actually worked.

The book I'm most fond of is the one about communication techniques, it contains detailed information about what you have to say when, how to anticipate questions from possible buyers and change their minds so they actually buy a product. I found this particularly interesting and luckily the book is somewhat of a step by step guide on how to increase your knowledge on this subject.

I've seen the TV advertising book and it looked very promising as well. I love the fact that Joe's books are extremely well written and thought through with care.

Definitely worth the money if you ever see his books in a bookstore or online.
