Buying and Selling Websites Description

Buying and Selling Websites is a video, audio and written transcript tutorial course created by internet marketer Max Davis that provides instruction on how to purchase websites for very little money and sell them for large profits. Through this program, Davis promises to show even beginning internet marketers how to go through a step-by-step process that will almost guarantee they’ll make money through site flipping.

Buying and Selling Websites Detailed Overview

Among a certain crowd of internet marketers, site flipping is a very popular way of making money. You build or buy a site, fix it up a bit and give it a good page ranking in Google, preferably get it making a little money, then sell it, hopefully for a handsome profit. In the Buying and Selling Websites tutorial course, internet marketer Max Davis promises to show you how to run a lucrative full-time business flipping websites.

The Buying and Selling Websites course is not for people who want to dabble a bit in site flipping and make $100 here and there. Davis doesn’t bother with the small stuff in this tutorial; he talks about buying websites for at least a few hundred dollars, putting hundreds of dollars into them, and then selling them for thousands of dollars. Not for the faint of heart.

In Buying and Selling Websites, Davis goes into detail about what types of websites to look for if you’re going to buy one that has already been made. In fact, he tends to encourage buying a website to sell for profit rather than building one. He delves into what it takes to build up a website to make it profitable, and also talks about what types of sellers to look for and which ones to avoid.

The price for Buying and Selling Websites is $97. Along with the videos, audio tapes and written transcripts, you also get access to Davis’ exclusive membership site where you can get ongoing help with your site flipping.

Buying and Selling Websites - 2011

I picked up this course about a month ago and think it has probably changed a fair bit since the original review.

After being created by Max, BASW was bought by Kyle Wakefield (an successful affiliate marketer) who added a number of new videos about building websites. The site changed hands again, and is now owned by David Gass and Chris Yates (experienced investors in this field) - both of whom are actively working to raise awareness of the business model (buying and selling sites for profit).

Currently there is only one membership option available - $297 for lifetime access.

After joining BASW, there is an option to join a mastermind group for $97.50/month. This is separate from the course and is not actively pushed or promoted. I have the normal membership (didn't join the mastermind group) and feel that the information in the BASW course is self contained (I was never led to feel that there was any important information withheld and only available through mastermind group).

The course teaches a path of long term arbitration - buying sites that are already making an income but where there is also an opportunity to increase their value, improving their monetization and traffic, and selling after a year or longer (for MUCH higher than purchase price).

Also included is access to a private forum (containing some great info) where both Chris and David respond to questions, and some sample contracts created for the purchase and sale of websites (these are worth thousands of dollars by themselves).

A bit about me:

I started off completely new to this field, having never created, bought, or sold a website before. I became interested in it because I was looking for a way to invest some money that would generate some passive cash flow (for this, there is nothing I know that gives better returns than buying an income producing website - but you have to make sure you've chosen carefully). I haven't picked up a site yet, but am quickly approaching the point where I'll be ready. During this time I've learned a great deal and Chris has been extremely helpful in answering my questions on the forum.

I was a bit apprehensive about buying the course because of it's cost, but don't regret it at all.

My favorite parts of the course have been:

Learning the price levels a site should be bought and sold at, and the type of sites to look for (so that you make your profit when you buy).

Market research.

The technique it teaches for locating deals.

Getting inside Max's head to see how he thinks when he is evaluating a site.

The tip for finding ideas for new businesses to create.

Learning where to sell sites for maximum profit.

With that said...

The specifics mentioned in some of the videos can become dated (for example, using Yahoo Site Explorer for checking backlinks, which is going to be phased out soon). On the other hand, the underlying principles are timeless.

It's important to note that this is not a course in quick flips (buying an undervalued site and reselling it within a few hours or days). While the information on building websites is good, it looks at it from a higher level, not going into the nitty gritty of building a site optimized for SEO. I wouldn't recommend using it as a sole guide for building a site intended for making money in a particular niche (though I did find the sites in the "Building" section to be very good).

If you have some money available to invest in this business and are looking to buy established websites or online businesses to either hold or resell later for profit, this is an excellent course. The videos are of great quality and provide valuable tips for saving money, market analysis, and finding good sites to purchase.

The course is somewhat expensive, but is well worth it if you plan on making money through this business model.

It actually works... but

Me and a friend decided to buy their bronze membership (since it's kinda expensive we both chipped in some). We both wanted to make some quick cash. There's no such thing as that.. It takes a lot of money to buy sites, money we didn't have. We bought a site for $140 following their steps, after site traffic grew, about 4 weeks later we sold it for $350.

Yes you can make money using these methods, but in my opinion it's only worth it if your buying high and selling higher. The members on the site are quite helpful, but in the end I decided it took to much work and I only made $210 in profit. I recommend giving it a try, as other people had more success than me.

Flipping and Earning Well in a Short Time

I was looking for this exact guide because I have read on an IM blog that site and blog flipping earns well. This training program helped me to find profitable domains and sites that are for sale on a small price and tweak it for a more bigger profit.

At first, I have no idea on where to start but by following the steps on the site and talking to other members, I was able to find the perfect site to buy. I bought my first website from a very trusted (& recommended)auction site for $120 and have sold it 3 weeks later for $400. I was amazed at what I did, and when I told Max about this he told me that I should have sold it for more than $1000!

I was shocked about that but what the heck, I made a profit and that's the most important. On the second time I bought and "renovated" my second site to sell, I made more than before because of the consultations I have made and the help of other members as well as Max the trainer himself.

Totally a very great service. Very much recommended to everyone.

Teaches you how to make the "big bucks"

At first when I came across "Buying and Selling Websites" I thought 100% scam because of the $97 price tag to join. I was not about to go and throw away that much money and hope that I could make a profit. I walked away from it after he claimed I could make hundreds of thousands of dollars.

A couple weeks later after I first saw it, I accidentally stumbled upon a discussion for it on an online forum. A couple people had claimed that they had actually made some money with it.

After several agonizing hours, I finally decided to give it a shot and sign up. From the get go, he had detailed videos and articles about site-flipping. I am hoping that the site I am currently refurbishing will be worth the 50k. That would definitely be worth the $97!

100% recommended
