Newbie, I Am

I am such a newbie with my website that I even scare myself! However, Socrates Theme has been not only a blessing, but a blast. I have now added some plug ins, and tags are no longer to be equated with the monster under my bed. The videos have been so helpful (sure, the pause and rewind are my close friends) and I am starting to feel like I am not only learning, but my web page is improving every day. I only purchased the $47 package, but with the way it is working out for me, their 60 day refund policy is moot!

Works as a charm

Socrates theme is a really good thing for people who are new in wordpress. If you don’t know anything about this blog system it will help you a lot. For me this thing wasn’t quite necessary, I bought it just for being curios. I really liked simple ads managing system, just simple button pushes and all your ads are being shown with your unique ID. You just start generating money.

Another thing is easy design manager. You can change and create your own style (talking about color variations), or choose it from a big templates list. You can easily change blocks position, this feature was surprising to me. Some other things were quite similar with other themes so I can’t distinguish it.

Socrates Theme - A Great Start for Blogging and Internet Marketing

I began using the Socrates theme several weeks ago, after difficult experiences with other themes both free and purchased. Socrates is an excellent choice for someone like me who is new to SEO, CSS and managing Adsense, Clickbank and other produce ad display scripts.

Socrates certainly allows a novice user to quickly establish a WordPress website, complete with blog content and initial miniaturization. The theme layout also helps a new user to learn in the process, making other future theme choices potentially easier to manage. Even the idea of building a theme from a basic WordPress template now seems conceivable to me.

Socrates 2.3, the theme’s latest iteration, has just been released. It comes with an easy to manage option page that installs on the WordPress dashboard. Save buttons are conveniently placed at the end of related option choices, allowing little chance for numerous changes to be made and then lost if the user navigates away from the page without saving first. Header design is a signature feature for Socrates, and this feature is now enhanced by the added choice of using a background color rather than a graphical image if desired. Background images are constantly proliferating, provided not only by the theme authors but by Socrates forum members as well.

A new option: “Banner Exchange” is currently in the works, and should make a live appearance on the Socrates option board. The easily configured rotating banner ad option in Socrates is another signature future for this adaptable theme. The theme also comes complete with unique social media icons that alternate once you enter URL information for Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and RSS. This same location can alternate appropriately sized ad material as well.

Though promoted as a quick and easy start for internet marketing, Socrates is also an excellent blog theme even without miniaturization features. Socrates has a clean design that accentuates content. Built in color selection options allow for significant design variety right out of the box, while an advanced user can immediately personalize design to any extent imaginable. The theme comes with several two and three column page designs, plus specialized pages that appear without columns.

With all this praise, there are several items I would like to see included by default in Socrates basic settings. These are: adjustable column widths, adjustable page background color and typographic font selection. The Socrates page font presents well, but improved typography with complete font selection would transform the theme into an almost unmatchable blogging platform. Adjustable column widths would add variety to standard page design, while adjustable page background color would help to make each blog site unique.

Socrates is well worth a try for anyone seeking an excellent WordPress marketing or blogging theme. Even novice users should be able to have the theme up and running without difficulty. Tutorials and online help are also readily available. The sixty day trial period allows for a thorough assessment of the theme’s potential prior to full commitment.

Socrates offers greater options than many premium themes selling for twice it's price. It also comes with theme updates included without a yearly subscription, an added cost for many themes now on the market. In addition to download and installation instructions on the Socrates web site, you’ll also find affiliate vendors offering Socrates with additional support material. I've seen several of these packages and they all seem reliable.
