Service Description
1&1 is one of the biggest hosting companies with over 7.7 million customers globally and with over 2,000 employees. The company was founded in 1988 and is run by CEO Oliver Mauss. 1&1 also offers other services such as domain registration, email hosting, virtual servers, ecommerce packages and website development tools. They’ve received awards from FindMyHost.com for Editor’s choice, Hosting Review for Best Hosting and Kubus.net for Best Windows Web Hosting.
Detailed Overview
One of the most popular and well-known web hosting companies is 1&1 (or 1and1). They have been around since longer than most hosting companies and is known as the industry leader. While 1&1 offers many different kinds of services, today I’m going to talk about their shared hosting, which is their most popular service and service most important to Internet marketers.
Probably the greatest benefit of choosing 1&1 as a hosting provider is their price. They are known to be one of the cheapest hosting providers with their cheapest plan being $3.99 per month. Their price is the biggest reason why so many people decide to go with 1&1, but the truth is that you should choose a web hosting for your specific needs.
1&1 offer both linux and windows hosting. They have their own control panel installed called Plesk. I found this control panel easy to use, but I am a bit biased and wished it was cPanel. cPanel is the most intuitive, feature-rich and easy-to-use control pane,l and I was a little disappointed to see that it wasn’t there. They support Perl, PHP 5, Cron Jobs, SSH, Python, Ruby on Rails and more.
1&1 really excels in their site building tools. They have your standard website builder, a tool for posting photo galleries, a tool for adding flash to your site, PDF2web converter tool (great for turning documents into web content) and even a tool to design your own t-shirt/apparel. They’ve also recently added RatePoint, which is a 5-star rating system that allows your customers to give feedback.
With their hosting, many communication tools such as their blog setup tool, email marketing tool, RSS tool, chat rooms and a live chat customer service tool. They really took the initiative to overdeliver for their customers with many tools you normally have to pay for. They email features are standard with spam features, email forwarding, 600 email accounts (for a basic package), webmail and with IMAP & POP3 support.
Another area 1&1 shines is their dedicated servers. They have so many different choices that will appeal to everyone, and they updated their servers with new hardware. Their prices are very fair, but you can find cheaper fees if you look around. The advantage of using their service is their reliability and hardware.
Here are 1&1’s pricing structure for their shared hosting:
Beginner: $3.99 per month, 20 domains, 25 subdomains, 10GB disk space, 300 GB bandwidth, 10 SQL databases 1 FTP account (huge negative). No Perl or python support, no cron jobs and limited tools.
Home: $2.49 per month for 6 months then $4.99 after, 50 domains, 100 subdomains, 120 GB disk space, 1,200 GB bandwidth, 25 SQL databases, 10 FTP accounts.
Business: $4.99 per month for 6 months then $9.99 after, 100 domains, 200 subdomains, 250 GB disk space, 2,500 GB bandwidth, 50 SQL databases, 25 FTP accounts, with access to most of their tools
Professional: $9.99 per month for 6 months then $19.99 after, 200 domains, 600 subdomains, 300 GB disk space, 3,000 GB bandwidth, 100 SQL databases, 50 FTP accounts, and access to all their tools.
The negative aspects of their plans are the huge limits on the number of SQL databases and FTP accounts. The best plan will either be the Home or Business as the Professional is too expensive, and the Beginner package has too many limitations. Their plans also lock you in their service for month at a time.
Let’s move on to their customer service. They have a 24/7 toll free phone number you can call. You can also email for support. It took me a little longer to reach their customer service reps than other major hosting providers, but their staff knew what they were doing. 1&1 also provides really good tutorials which can help you solve your problem and set things up which are very helpful. 1&1 also state 99.9% uptime figures and based on third party reviews and tests, they come very close – ranging from 99-100%.
Reputation
Overall, 1&1 is a solid hosting company, and I can confidently recommend their service. However, their limitations on bandwidth, diskspace, FTP accounts and SQL databases may not make it the best choice for some marketers. They do not have the best customer support, but 1&1 provides really good tutorials which can help you solve your problem and get set up.
They offer a 90-day money back guarantee and 1-5 free domains depending on the plan. They also offer vouchers for Google Adwords, Yahoo Search, Microsoft Adcenter and Citysearch with all plans. The added perks are great, but if you’re looking to use a lot of scripts, want to host unlimited domains, want unlimited disk space, and need multiple FTP accounts, you will probably have to look elsewhere.
Domain "Whois"
The Whois information for a website lists the owner and their contact information. The Whois information for "1&1 Web Hosting" is public which is generally a good thing. This indicates the owner of this site has nothing to hide.

Excellent service
I host a gaming website for my team, and I came across 1&1 Webhosting. I saw their extremely low prices and immediately took a jump on it. I am in no way disappointed in their service as their servers are up 24/7. I asked a few visitors from my site to rate my site based on many criterion, which included website stability, and speed. Out of all the users I surveyed, over 90% rated it a 10 out of 10. This of course proved to me that this webhost is just purely awesome. I’m very satisfied with this product and will continue to use them as a webhost provider.

Support is not helpful
I have used 1&1 hosting in the past and had little to no problems. The servers were up all the time and luckily I never had to contact customer support with 1&1 hosting.
I'm not going to bring names into this, but I personally know a video blogger that has used this for his main website. He woke up one morning to a hacked website. It wasn't the website design that was faulty, but it was the hosting that was the problem. What the attackers did was contacted support using false identity, or better known as "Social Engineering", and gained access to all accounts under the hosting and domain.
I wouldn't recommend this hosting to anybody just because of this experience.

Stay Away, very far away from 1&1 hosting
1&1 customer service is severely lacking. I would have to make several calls to resolve one issue. You have to be persistent and know what you want them to accomplish for you when you have a problem, this will of course be hard for a new user.
In addition, I didn't like the fact that you can't pay for a full year of service in advance. They insist on charging you a monthly fee. And yes you better look at your bills carefully - mysteriously things get added to your bill that you didn't ask for. Then of course you have to do battle with the billing department.
Cancelling the service was a complete nightmare - I think they make it so hard on you so that you relent and keep the service. And the really special part is them sending you to collections for a bill you are disputing.
If you don't want headaches, stay far away from 1 & 1!

A really great hosting service
I have many webprojects and because of that I need a good web hosting service. I am fond of 1&1 Web Hosting - they are doing great job for me. For my blogs I use the Wordpress platform and 1&1 Web Hosting offer free and fast installation of it. The control panel is very easy to use and I got used to it for less than an hour. The uptime of the sites is almost 100%, the space and bandwidth are more than enough. And all this is coming with acceptable price - there are different hosting plans for everyone. If you are searching around the Internet for an excellent host, I recommend you to try 1&1 Web Hosting.

Worst web hosting company
1&1 is by far the worst web hosting company. It is impossible to cancel your account; they will continue billing you even if you cancel your account. Do not host your site with 1and1 web host because it's customer care service is terrible. If you host your site with 1&1 than you should check your invoices regularly because they often bill you for stuff that you have not purchased and also take care to purchase a new domain name from them either. When I try to move from this horrible host provider, they locked my account and take $40 charge to get back my domain name and they forced me to host my site with them. This web hosting company is terrible. Don’t waste your time and money by hosting your site with 1&1.

Fast approval, lowest prices, Most Features
I found this great niche and needed a domain name fast to start promoting it and decided to purchase one at 1and1 as recommended by my affiliate training program. I have purchased domains before from GoDaddy and found that you can .com domains at 1and1 for 25% less. What was more surprising is that I live in the little island of Trinidad and Tobago down in the Caribbean and was doing my normal day job and was wondering if my new domain was processed and ready for hosting by the time I reached home. My cell phone rang and a rep from 1and1 call to tell me that my domain name was completed and was ready for hosting to me that is real good customer service.

Best Web Hosting Service
This site is quite a bit more expensive than it's competitors, however I have sworn by them for about 3 years now. As a website creator, I need my visitors to be happy with the domain registrars that I put them in touch with and 1&1 Web Hosting always helps me with that. They have user-friendly and easy to use customer service. After I bought some domains I had some questions. They were answered within one hour. The site itself is also very user-friendly to navigate. With many services like this you have many choices, however with 1&1 Web Hosting you get what you pay for, and this site offers first class service that I cannot fault.

Good Hosting! Great Prices!
I run several websites and I have to say of all the different hosting programs I have used, 1&1 is one of the best out there. I personally use it to host a blog, and would recommend it for any home users, perhaps looking for hosting for a blog and for small to medium sized businesses. The prices for their hosting packages are great and uploading and updating a website is an easy task with this company. Having said that, if you are looking for hosting for large e-commerce sites or corporate websites then this hosting probably isn't for you, as there are better all in one solutions for those purposes.

Great Web Hosting
I have recently bought their hosting package. And I really like them because their packages are very cheap and their servers are from USA and I have never had any problem with the servers. Their performance is faster than the other web hosting sites I have gone through. They also have an affiliate program which can be easily earned. I just loved them as they are new we should at least give them a try. I suggested them to everyone who wanted to host their web pages for very cheap cost. They also have many coupons. I have surfed the net and found many coupons.

Really Affordable
I want say it is the best web host on the planet. Before subscribing to 1&1 Web Hosting I was using a free web hosting service but I was facing the problem of low disk space. One of my friends told me about the 1&1 Hosting and I decided to go for it. Now I'm using Home Package at $4.99 per month and as compared to other web hosting services it is really cheap. I have not found any difficulty in uploading files from filezilla and also in updating website. I think if you have a registered domain then you should first look at their hosting plans. I hope you will be satisfied.

Positive experience
The website was cheap enough to give it a try. The basic package is only about $5 each month and they offer more storage space than I need. They also let me buy another domain and use the same space so I don't have to buy two separate accounts. They were easy to get started with and set up was easy. The domain registration was easy but the FTP was a little difficult to get use to.
I left my other company due to bad customer support. I figure anything can go wrong anywhere but when things do I want to know someone is working on the problem and values me as a customer. This company does offer the customer support I need and they do not charge extra for it.

Reliable but slow!
1&1 is a pretty reliable webhost, but I have one big gaping problem with them. Their nameservers and domains take HOURS to update. Changing nameservers requires patience like none other. On an upside, they do offer free domain privacy which is something not all registrars do for free.
I'm recommending 1&1 on a "B" grade because of this. It's cheap, reliable, but takes hours to update.

Low cost, great service
I'm using the "beginner" package, and I got to say, it's great. They also have great customer support. When I ran into a problem, I called them and my problem was fixed right away. The 1 & 1 Site-Builder is great and easy to use. Everyone I recommended 1 & 1 to loved it too. I give 1 & 1 a 9/10.

My Experiences
First, the pricing of this website is pretty decent, I got the basic one and I currently only pay $5 a month for a lot of storage and traffic. I also have two domains that come with it and they worked well.
The setup process was super easy and it only took a couple minutes to register a domain. The FTP is a good setup too, a little hard to get started but not really that bad.
The Customer Support is also pretty good as well, I had to call them a couple times when my website was hacked and they restored my website to a full backup within the day.
The only downside is sometimes the hassle it takes to somewhat navigate throughout the site, so if this is your first time it might take a little bit to get around.
Overall for the $5 price tag I would give this site an A because of my personal experiences.

I am Happy with 1&1 Hosting
I have been using 1&1 Hosting Home Package at $4.99 per month for more than one year now, and I have to say that I am satisfied at this moment with 1&1 Hosting. I have a website monitoring service (Internet Supervision) that reported only one downtime incident. I got the first six months free and two free domain names, I only pay the setup fee of $9.99 to start. Every time I need support they responded quickly and with right to the point answers. I also like the fact that with 1&1 there are no long term commitments to get a low monthly payment hosting plan.

Happy to join, Low Cost
I've been using the $6.99 Hosting plan for a few months now, it is free for 6 months.
1&1 Web Hosting is amazing, good support, friendly, all questions are answered in a timely manner, hosting is cheap, and the uptime is great. I think 1&1 Web Hosting is a recommended hosting service.
I gave B for good support and low cost. I'm so happy.

The best host you can get for you webpage
Well, I can say 1&1 provides you a nice host for your webpage. I say this because in the past, I bought 1&1 Business for the webpage and I had no problem with this. It provided to my webpage a lot of web space, which I really needed. Another nice thing that 1&1 gives you is the chance of making your own webpage very easily with the tools they provide you, it was really user-friendly and you could make a nice webpage just with this tool. Finally, I have to say that the support is excellent, you can ask them whatever you want by email or phone, they'll answer you in no time and they don't stop helping you till you've solved the problem you had.

Good for domain's
1and1.com has best offer than other domain companies. It provides free domain privacy with domain name. Domain privacy are usually charged extra. Domain at 1and1.com are also cheap. I usually register domain names at godaddy.com but this time just to try I registered one domain at http://www. 1and1.com , I was able to register domain at 1and1.com but it took more than 12 hour to register worldwide. Usually registering domain worldwide takes at least 48 hour. When compared to godaddy.com it takes 1 to 2 hr to register domain worldwide. I would say 1and1.com is best for domain, I don't no about hosting because I have not hosted any website at 1and1.com. I would say go for 1and1.com.

Very Good Service!
I've been using the $9.99 Hosting plan for a few months now, and the quality of speed, space and bandwidth was amazing...
They answered all my questions very quickly, and I had my website transferred from my old Server to the new very easily and quickly. Changing nameservers for my domain name was quick and easy too, it took only a few hours to get my Domain name working with my new sever.

Really good host
1&1 Web Hosting has been very good to me over the past few years. The only issue is when I need to speak to someone about billing or another customer support issue, it fall in there bankers hours time periods. I was very happy with their service, and I beat the heck out of their developer plan until I needed more. I was getting error 500 all the time, I was sending too many requests to their servers and it was just blocking the hits. I could not handle missing any traffic pointing towards my sites. I was very happy with them as a small to medium traffic site, but with a high end site like the picture hosting service I run now it is almost not worth it, and I needed to go with a VPS or dedicated host to handle my requests. I also did not like that you have to turn on PHP5. By default PHP 4 is on and I didn't like that. I just want to know that my scripts are running and not dying. Also there is a 100MB limit on your MYSQL databases, so trim your databases or you will see some loss.

1&1's General Service
1&1 Hosting is very cheap in comparison to it's rivals, this was my main attraction to the site and have had no regrets in registering and using this product.
At first, I started with the slightly smaller Beginner package at $3.99 which gives excessive disk space and bandwidth for the price. However, as my website popularity increased rapidly, I found myself needing to opt in for the higher Business package at $4.99 per month. This was very helpful to me as this also provides python support with more variety of tools to play around with. The business package also had a staggering 2,500GB bandwidth that is more than enough for my website, even with the enormous size that it is.
Customer service is great and there is always a real human being willing to help when I found myself stuck.
So, would I recommend 1%1? Absolutely, the price and quality of service is unparalleled to it's competitors.

Nice hosting service to go for
Yes I agree this is one of those hosting services to be trusted. I have hosted one of my domain with them and they are really good, I can not remember any moment they went down or probably I was not around to observe that. Anyways, good hosting company with nice price package, recently you can host there for free in the first three months after which you start your payment. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a reliable web-host service. However there are some nice web-host I am also using that are cheaper than this particular web hosting service, so you have lots of choice. But my advice to anyone looking for hosting service is that you should observe what other users have said about the company before going with them.

Good service, low cost
Having had experience with 1&1 before, I found their service to be of good quality, at a low cost.
With the beginner package only £1.99 a month, including a free domain, a reasonable 250MB of disk space and 20 email accounts with spam filtering, I would call this a good service for something like a family website or a small company.
However, 1&1's support doesn’t stop there, if you are a top of industry company, they offer their professional plan, which includes unlimited bandwidth, 8GB of web space, 10 free domains, 3000 sub domains, and 3,000 email address', with unlimited aliases. This would be adequate to cater for more or less all large companies.
This shows that 1&1's service can supply from the smallest of family websites, up to large buisness', looking for a reliable web host.
They also offer VPS and dedicated server hosting, where more than web hosting is required.
I have never had a problem with 1&1's uptime either, and have never had to use their support service.
Overall, a 9/10, as I could not find any options for Plesk or cPanel support.

A great web hosting company - for a long time
First of all, what attracted me to 1&1 Web Hosting at first was it's price. It's unbelievably cheap, and with it's awesome hosting domains, and how professional it is, no one can reject. It's probably why 1&1 Web Hosting has been around for so long.
But what makes it shine is the sites it brings you and how easy it is to organize. I have used other domains which don't give you ANY freedom, meaning that you are limited to only using HTML and other functions; 1&1 Web Hosting gives you a full control panel to work with, which makes it work like an operating system. It's easy to use for beginners too.
The support though, is really slow, probably because of how many people use 1&1 Web Hosting, making people with problems frustrated. I once had a problem not being able to access the control panel and they replied within 2 weeks, which is a very long time. It was a slight waste of money, so watch out for that.
Overall, it's the best web domain hosting site right now, and has been for years. I hope they fix the support issues.

Only one negative point
I have registered only one domain at 1&1 web hosting. The offer they provide with domain is very good, that is domain privacy. Usually we have to pay extra for domain privacy. But 1&1hosting provides domain privacy completely free, I was very impressed with their offer. The next thing I liked about 1&1 hosting is it's price + you do not have domain transfer fees, you can easily transfer your domain to 1&1 hosting with no charges. The only thing I hate about 1&1 hosting is time consumed to register domain world wide, It took more than 12 hours. I was really angry ! . I have more than 20 domain in godaddy.com and I have never faced any problem. I would rate 1&1 hosting 4 stars.

Excellent features and service
Several years ago 1&1 had an offer that allowed you to sign up for their executive level hosting free for six months and then at a reduced price afterward. I signed up two accounts, one for my personal website and one for my business website. I was extremely impressed with the wide array of features they provided, like multiple databases, FTP accounts and unlimited subdomains. On the rare occasions that I had to contact support for help they were always prompt and professional. Overall their product and support was top notch and well worth the price when I had to start paying for the service.

1&1 Web Hosting Top Notch
1&1 hosting is the best hosting I have ever had for any of my websites. Minimal downtime, great support, and all questions are answered in a timely manner. I have never had a problem with this company and have always been satisfied. Would recommend this hosting to anyone and I will not be going anywhere anytime soon with my websites!

Good Prices, Terrible Support
Everyone consistently raves about how 1&1 has such great hosting plans... and they do. I'm not going to discredit them on things like that, but it's the support for 1&1 that kills me. Their support for hosting is terrible. I've tried emailing them, calling them, instant chat... everything! It takes more than 4 days for them to respond, and half of the time the information they gave me was incorrect, which is terrible on their part.
Unless you know everything you're doing with webhosting, and coding, and setting up things, then I don't recommend 1&1 for your use. They are great for deals, and their uptime isn't too bad either, but it's the support that made the deal for me. It simply could not work.

Cheap for beginner hosting
All I can say is that 1&1 provides users a very friendly control interface and simple to use panel, especially when compared to other well-known web hosts. All important host functions are arranged and put on the same page so the learning can be done so easily in just only a few minutes. Being a web developer who has experience with many others web hosting services, I found it very easy to navigate the panel and use FTP function to upload my client's site. However, the customer service responded to me in almost up to 2 days. So I think some aspects of the process could be better thought out.

Amazing, Easy to Use Web Service
This is an excellent web service. So far, I have made three websites with 1 and 1 web hosting and they have turned out excellent. With no usage limits for the sites, you can make excellent business sites for as little as 3 dollars a month. From my experience, even these little packages have everything you need to make a website. Their hosting also includes extra features such as a flash website builder. The only negative is that the smaller packages do not allow you to edit the html code of websites manually, and you are held to some design elements you may not want. But you can still make excellent custom websites.

Great service for beginners
I have used 1&1 for hosting small sites. The signup process was quick and I was up and running very quickly. They offer domain specials (for example when I got my account, I paid $2.99 for the first year for . us domain) all throughout the year.
There was no outages or issues with the hosting portion. However, their control panel can be overwhelming to a novice user as for some options you really need to dig it in. Also when it comes to canceling accounts, it was not readily available under the control panel. I had to go through FAQs, find that I need to go to cancel. 1and1.com and proceed through there. Interestingly, one of my cancellations was fine, whereas on the next one I had to fax them for authorization. Why, they never told me.
As for the other services, such as Microsoft Exchange or VPS hosting, I cannot recommend them. There is many more reliable companies out there that offer cheaper service with more features.

Awesome, I love it!
I just used this web-hosting recently but I must say that I'm really grateful that I've found this service. I've chosen the home package and the price was really cheap. I only pay $7 and then I got 6 months free access. This is probably the cheapest web-hosting service ever. Moreover, there's absolutely no traffic quota for any package so this service absolutely outmatches those that still have monthly traffic quota.
This service will also give you one free domain to .com or other so you won't need to pay extra money for buying a domain. The Sitebuilder is also a great feature of this web-hosting service because it's very easy to use and it doesn't require any experience in web designing at all. I don't know why this review says the disk space limit is not satisfying because I find 150GB disk space to be extremely big for $7 package. After all of those great features, I would rate this service A++.

Great web hosting
This service is a great site for web hosting. I recently created a website for my parents adult home care business and then used 1&1 to publish it online. I found the website to be very helpful and easy to use. The online tools that are provided are fairly straight forward and I have not had a problem yet with the service. The price is also reasonably low and was another great part of the deal. Overall, if you have general web hosting needs, I would recommend this service.

Solid hosting
1&1 Web Hosting was my first professional, paid hosting. In my opinion it’s a very solid and reliable host. I was using the Home service, price is very low: 5 bucks is really low for it.
I’ve not ever had any problems with them. The staff is very polite and helpful anytime I asked them for something. I got only 1 case when my site was offline because of server hardware problems – one time in one year.
Impressive stats, good quality of services and low prices – that’s what I remember from my deals with 1&1 – I’d recommend it to everyone, who needs a solid and fast hosting.

Good for new web sites
I was beginning a new website in addition to the two I had already had going successfully and needed an easy, sleek way to set it up without any host problems. I heard of 1&1 Web Hosting and immediately saw the price of $3.99 per month and went bonkers! Wow, the sign-up for this service is so cheap and it offers everything you need for your website including a control panel and large amounts of space. In addition, the service also offered quality building tools, blog setup, email marketing, RSS tool, and customer service. I loved everything this service offered, especially the price, but couldn't understand why they didn't have a more compatible control panel. Other than that, I've been continuing to integrate this hosting service to build my websites even further and is well worth the price!

1&1 is the way to go
1&1 Hosting is very good. Their support is good at times, hosting is cheap, and the uptime is great. I think they do a great job running their site, especially with all the customers that they have. I never really see downtime in my sites, only a few. Their support answers my question with ease. 1&1 is the way to go.

Great service!
I am using their service for over a year now, their prices are low and their service is just great! I talked with support few times, and they solved all the problems in that same day.
I needed a web host that can provide me with low or no downtime, php/mySql support and few ftp connections, so I went for their linux platform since I'm more orientated to linux, and I never regretted it for a second! I have 2 sites hosted there and both are running on their mySql linux server without an error!
1&1 is really my personal favorite! A+

Great webhosting company!
I have been using 1&1 for 8 years and still do! They first started giving out 3 years of hosting for free. I started on that and I really liked the service. The uptime on the services are awesome. They offer php/mysql/ssh the whole ordeal and they give you more space than you can use, which is a good thing :). I would recommend 1&1 to anyone. :)

Great for the beginner
1and1 provides quality hosting for just about any kind of website out there, however it does have couple of drawbacks.
First of all it does not have a cPanel. They have they own version of control panel and sometimes it's getting confusing how to work with it. They do have a large support database and you can even call them if you have a problem, but when I had problem with FTP I had to wait for about 15 minuted before I got connected to the operator. Email support is even slower. Another draw back is that not all of the plans support cron job. If you are beginner trying to setup a small website without running complicated scripts 1and1 is a way to go, however if you are going to run couple scripts that require cron jobs, you have to upgrade to a higher plan. I signed up for the cheapest plan they had available to test it out and even was going to transfer my main website to them, but after using it for about 20 days I canceled the hosting. In weeks I was "trying them out" I had 3 problems with hosting, besides not able to run cron job. I don't know if they had problems with their servers at the time, but even when they fixed the problem, I got an after taste from using this hosting company.
Again, if you are a beginner and not going to use complicated scripts - 1and1 is a way to go, otherwise I wouldn't even bother.

Reliable & User Friendly!
I have used 1&1 for two of my current websites. I used them originally to purchase the domain names, which was a very quick and painless process before then going on to using them as a host for my websites after having issues with my other host. 1&1 gave me the best deal on their hosting services and I was expecting to spend a lot of time waiting for everything to get activated. Nope, it was done immediately! I would recommend 1&1 to anyone who is looking for hassle-free place to set up their website!

Web Hosting at it's best
As a web designer, I'm very familiar with the deluge of web hosts out there. I continually find myself referring others to 1&1 Web Hosting because of their absolutely great features. Even though I normally get one of their cheaper plans, their service is above par! Currently I run 13 websites with 1&1 and I find their system extremely helpful in getting my websites off the ground.
1&1 Web Hosting's support is fantastic. Whenever I contact support, I get a quick, concise and to the point answer within an hour. I would highly recommend those who are trying to choose between the thousands of web hosts out there to choose 1&1 - you won't regret it!

Good for Average Users and Power Users Alike
I've used 1&1's web hosting and domain name services on several occasions both as a web designer for my clients and for personal uses. 1&1's pricing structure and choice of hosting plans are second to none.
Their telephone support team is very courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable. I've had to deal with credit card information with them and they are very professional.
After making a purchase, the back end administration is very user friendly, yet at the same time still allows the experienced web developer to make changes and configure settings needed to run even the most demanding sites. If I ever ran into an issue, their knowledge base has always had the answer I was looking for.
I gave 1&1's service the grade of "B" because while the service and support is exceptional, their site seems to be selling something on every page and can become overbearing over time.

Worth the price
I started using 1&1 some time ago, the prices are fair, the service is good and the support is (at least for me) very fast and helpful. I had some trouble with my FTP access some weeks ago, the support solved my problem in less than 24 hours. You also have to know that 1&1 have a phone number so you can call them if you have any problem.
I have many domains at 1&1. I use some of them to create "affiliate" websites, to do so I don't even need to pay for hosting, in fact for every domain you get a free 5mb hosting, and 5mb is way enough to set-up a little money making site.

Quality Cheap Hosting, Free of charge for first 3 months
Two months ago I was hosting in one of the hosting companies and was disappointed with the service. But then I found 1and1 and decided to use it for hosting my blog. Apparently 1and1 has a very good service. Satisfactory quality servers, fast data transfer and has up to 99.9% uptime. And even more surprising anymore is 1and1 is very cheap. 1and1 even gave me 3 months free of charge. For those of you who are troubled with the server hosting you're currently using now or for those who want to use hosting servers which are more qualified than you are currently using, then I highly recommend 1and1 as a place to host your blog or your new website. 1and1 is highly Recommended Hosting service.

I recommend 1&1 Web Hosting to any small business out there
1&1 Web Hosting, it’s very cheap for small businesses, and what I enjoy so much about 1&1 Web Hosting service is their honesty. With 1&1 Web Hosting, you get to pay $4.99/month for each additional 500M and no other hidden costs, no adverts, and no restrictive terms. I’m still enjoying full web service. I’m so surprised for my web has been hosted for free at starting level, with unlimited add-on domains. The Control Panel is really easy to navigate and use for newbies and anyone with or without experience.
1&1 Web Hosting has a good customer service responds. When they say 24/7 Phone & E-mail Support you can count on them for that. And their online FAQs is good for you who doesn’t know about them yet. It answers all your questions. I enjoy using them and would always use 1&1 Web Hosting for all my web hosting and service. I do recommend this service to anyone out there…. They live by their words and I have not experienced server timed out database error… good service.

This service was good, but there are better ones out there
Well, I was recommended to use 1&1 Web Hosting by a few friends, as they said the site was cheap and easy to use. I would of liked to know how hard it was to cancel though! When I first started using it to advertise my artwork, I was surprised by how easy it was to start using. It is also very cheap(for a few bucks a month, I could handle it). The problem that I had with the site though was when I wanted to cancel my account, it proved almost impossible to do so! Many other people have had this problem. Sure, it is a great hosting service, but when you try to cancel, and if you don't cancel completely correctly, they keep on billing you! At the moment, they are still billing me on my credit card, and I have absolutely no idea at all how to stop it! My advice would be to only use 1&1 Web Hosting if you know that you are going to be using it for a long period of time. If you ever desire to stop the service, good luck to you!

Best services web hosting!
1&1 Web hosting is the best web hosting I have ever used, best services and cheapest price. With a small site you only need to pay four to five dollars per month. They have a 24/7 toll free phone number you can call. You can also email for support. It is easy to get their customer services than other hosting providers.
I have some domains and change all to use their services some weeks ago. Until now I didn't have any problem yet. My site works very well and it makes me much more assured.
I gave B to their good services and price!

Great Webhost
1&1 is cheap and I really like that you can register domains anonymously without having to pay extra for that. I have several different hosting providers and of course, 1&1 is on my toplist. The only thing I find negative is that there is no cpanel like HostGators.
Their own control panel is ok but not more.
Their support responds quickly if there are problems. And even though I've had some adult sites, I have never received any complaints. I recommend 1&1 because it is a stable webhost.

Great Hosting Site
1&1 Hosting is probably one of the best hosting sites out there. It provides an in depth guide for beginners to help them easily understand the workings of a web hosting site, with enough versatility and options to keep even the professional web developers using their services. They are not an extremely cheap site, but what they lack in prices they make up for in customer service. They are an all around great host, which is essential for a great developer. I would recommend them to developers of all different skill sets and I know I will be using them in the future.

Turn A Blind Eye
1&1 Web Hosting is one of the three hosting companies that I use; I don’t like to use just one hosting company because I have too many domains. 1&1 Web Hosting is the most expensive host I am currently with, they charge me 11.95 a month while I pay less than $7 at the other hosting companies. I don’t mind the price though because they are not strict and allow any type of sites. I host black hat and adult sites with them which they are very aware of and they have never said anything. Overall they are great, I don’t know if they turn a blind eye on my sites or if they just allow it, either way, much recommended!

I think this is a well service
This web hosting service is good for hosting your web. Its also cheap, you only pay about four dollars a month. Many other web hosting programs will charge more for their services, maybe even up to fifty dollars and that is just not worth it and some do not do a good job of that. Over all I would recommend this to anyone who wants their website to be known. Do not pass up the opportunity, it's really cheap. I gave it a grade B because at times I did get frustrated mostly because I encountered troubleshooting at times. Once that was out of the way, I enjoyed this. So I highly recommend it, don't pass up the opportunity. If you find something cheaper then good for you, still this I would pick over any other. This is one of the industrial leaders. So try it out today or tomorrow or whenever you have time.

This is a Awesome Website
1 & 1 is the greatest web-hosting company with the cheapest price that I have ever used, and that is one of the reason why so many people are using this service. They offer windows hosting and linux and have their own control panel. They have delivered lot of tools with their service and give a pretty good hosting and domain website that they provide with great quality. And they provide one of the Best Customer service. So I would say that 1 & 1 is the Best and Great web-hosting company.

Not a great experience
I was looking to purchase my very first domain. I had never hosted a website before let alone buy a domain. I read about 1&1 in many magazines and thought this would be my best option. I also read that I would get to use the domain for 30 days risk free. I looked through the site, searched for my domain and was ready to get started. I filled out the form and I paid for my domain. They stated that it would take 24-48 hours before my domain was active. 5 days later I received an email from the admin stating that they would need to phone me to obtain more information before setting up the domain, I told him to forget it. I got my money back and used another site. My domain was active the minute I purchased it, these guys may have a good reputation but for me they are just one of the richer companies with more advertising capabilities and are actually less useful. I gave this a C-.

Host my autoresponder on it
I have been using 1&1 hosting for a few months now to host my auto responder on their servers. I stared using their Virtual Private Servers back in October and I received 3 months free of hosting so it was completely awesome. I host EZ autoresponder on the VPS I have from 1&1 hosting and it works perfectly fine, it runs 24 hours a day which is the best part about it. I am currently paying $59 a month for a 2GB RAM VPS which comes with 50GB of space as well. I host my autoresponder on this VPS but I could do a lot more if I wanted to, much recommended.

Honestly, Free Webs is much better
I created a small little site for my comics. And quite frankly, I wish I just stuck with Free-Webs (free version). First, it took like 3 days for my domain to be made/activated. When I went to start doing my site, guess what? I have to cough up $10 dollars for a decent site builder? That's when I just plain quit. I despise this company and do not recommend it to anybody.

Great for Basic Needs
Need a good amount of disk space, bandwidth, and domain names for a very cheap price? This is the webhost for you. I used this as my first webhost and never had any down times at all. I had multiple occasions where I was confused, being a noobie, and their customer support was the best I have ever received with prompt and detailed responses. I also found the control panel to be simple and easy to navigate even though I had little experience in web hosting. I have since moved on from this provider because of the limitations on databases I could have, but anyone who needs a simple site for a great price is in luck.

Good webhosting for standard websites
This brings back memories. 1&1 Webhosting is one of the first webhosts I bought hosting from outside of my own country (Netherlands). Though it was a great experience and I can highly recommend them to any starting webmaster out there because their support is excellent, the size of this company was a little too big for my taste (I like short lines to the top of a company) so once I learned enough about hosting myself, I moved on to a few smaller webhosts.
You could say that 1&1 webhosting taught me the basics of webhosting and server management.
In short if you want to run a personal or small business website this host won't do you wrong, but if you have the ambition to run something special, requiring specific features on your hosting (and the support that comes with it), I would recommend a smaller host because they are more flexible in providing to your hosting needs. 1&1 hosting is perfect for standard webhosting in any shape and form (shared, VPS or dedicated).
Great service, so a deserved B+ from me.

They are on top
These guys are on top for domains and hosting. You will hear it from any marketer and any website. 1&1 is the most trusted name in the business and I have been using them for years. I receive coupons in my email almost everyday. I buy a domain roughly every week with these guys. I am sure there are some cheaper companies out there, but I know I can trust 1&1 and I know that they aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. I signed up for the professional web hosting and have never had a single problem with it. I recently paid for 5 years in advance which shows I will not be leaving them at anytime.

This is a good hosting company
I've been using 1&1 business hosting and I must say they're one of the best companies out their offering hosting service. I'm planning to switch to their dedicated service soon this summer. Also, they give a reasonable price for what they have to offer, I really love to work with 1&1 because they have the best customer service which is hard to find today. I highly recommend 1&1 to anyone who wants to open their own website. You won't find this kind of service anywhere else.

Feature Packed Hosting
I have used this hosting before and it is great. I had got the Linux Beginner hosting. The best was for just $4/month I got a hosting package along with 1 included domain. I could start my website instantly. The package was just perfect for me, the space was much more than I ever could use and the bandwidth being unlimited helped a lot as I was running a traffic heavy website. Also the speed was really great. The control panel was very user-friendly and I got the hang of it really fast. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for their first website.

Great prices, great service
1&1 is a pretty good hosting and domain website, they always have good deals available and they provide great quality. I have been using these guys for over 2 years. I first noticed them in a small business magazine. I signed up for my free trial and have never looked back. They give me everything I need. However I do not buy my domains through them. Domain.com is the best for that. However great customer service, good quality and always great deals. They meet both basic and advanced marketers needs with their services. They get a B+.

Good for basic stuff
I've been using their hosting for the last couple of years and I'm pretty satisfied with it - could be better though.
If your website gets a traffic "spike" they will take your website down and THEN send an email to you telling it is down. I know, it is shared hosting but still...
Anyways, the positive easily out weight the negative aspects. I never had any problems with the support, they were very responsive and their hosting has everything you'll ever need. They are not like those small hosting companies who charge extra 20 bucks for email@yourdomain.com.
If you're looking for a good hosting and your websites don't get THAT much traffic - go for it. You won't regret it.

I like 1&1
I used to host a small forum with 1&1 a year ago, and I never really had any problems with them. Overall, they are a fairly good web host, and their support is pretty good. They have reliable servers and a very easy to use cPanel. Overall I'd say go for it. They're an alright host overall.

Wonderful Hosting, Wonderful Domaining
I currently host a website with 1&1 and thus far they have been a great provider. They provide low rates on all of their hosting packages and I have yet to experience any sort of downtime or connection issues. They also provide good domains and they are some of the cheapest on the internet. I truly believe that 1&1 is one of the best internet service providers in business. There are few competitors that can provide both reliable hosting and reliable domains at such a low price. I have experimented with many different hosts. Some have been just as good as 1&1, but they have never been able to match the low prices that 1&1 provides. Despite their low prices, they continue to be the hallmark of customer service. When there is an issue, which is rare, their response time and swift, polite, and helpful. If you are looking for a host or domain, and you are short on funds, I must give my thumbs up to 1&1.

The Bigger and the Best!
It is when I was searching for web hosting providers I came across 1&1. I came to know about the various plans it gives to it's customer to choose from. All the plans are worth the cost and one can choose the plan based on the need. All these plans have many added advantages. The main advantage is that the plans come with site building tools which I think is very important to enhance one's website. It also has tutorials that will help solve one's own problem. Although the control panel plesk is not up to the cpanel it does in no way affect usability. Hence I end up saying 1&1 is the best, worth it for the cost.

Great Hosting Site! Excellent Customer Service
I purchased my first domain/hosting through 1&1. I am very new to internet marketing but over the last 90 days... I have found 1&1 to be very competent. Their customer service department has been very helpful and patient. They were able to answer all my questions thoroughly. If I have any complaint, it would only be that I don't feel their prices are as competitive as other sites. They tend to be a little more expensive in my experience... but overall a good company to use. :)

Among the best hosting services I've tried
I heard about 1&1 Web Hosting for the first time about half an year ago. A lot of different sources were giving positive reports and thus my decision to try it out. Previously I've used some other hosting services, and the one I'm reviewing right now was among the best. First of all the price isn't too high and it is quite affordable for everyone. It is just amazing how fast the support has solved the few problems I've had with the hosting - definitely one of the best in that matter. The FTP and SQL services were great and I've never had problems with them. Also I've had a downtime just three or four times and they were just minor.
As a conclusion I would definitely say that 1&1 Web Hosting is a great hosting service, and considering the price you pay it is really worth it. Great product!

One thing to say, it's simply the best
I honestly never saw such a good hosting service. I just had some problems, in the 3 years that I used it.
The prices are reasonable. For the service they give, the price is even excellent.
I begun using 1&1 in 2006. I was just beginning my website and I needed something solid. I only found positive comments on 1&1, so I tried it out. I never regretted that choice.
In the cases that I had a problem, the customer service (the best one) was always there to save me. They responded in less then some hours, and their service was always perfect.
The hosting was also fantastic. The FTP server always worked perfectly, and the SQL bases too. The memory I had was more then enough. They also give lots of domains and subdomains!
I only had good experiences with 1&1, don't hesitate!

Acceptable webhosting at a decent price
I've used 1&1 Web Hosting for a few clients in the past. They provide shared hosting at a reasonable price, I was always able to find a perfect plan for the customer's needs. While the limitations on the number of databases and ftp accounts can get in the way in some special cases like large websites or different needs of a customer to access and update things on the server, most people or websites don't need anything more than this.
Down to the features of the hosting, it uses Plesk as a control panel, this isn't a huge downside to cPanel, it's not the thing everybody is used to but it's definitely usable and comfortable to work with. On the other features of the host, besides the basic package where you only have access to PHP4/5 on the higher packages you also get Perl and Python as scripting languages, these work out well except for the crons you sometimes need, these are only featured in the Business or Professional accounts. It can be a reasonably daunting task to host and manage certain website features without these, so I always recommend getting at least the Business account. The lack of Ruby on Rails is disappointing but few people actually need it.
I would say 1&1 Web Hosting is worth it in all cases, however there are some better services with more features than this out in the internet.

1&1 Web Hosting Review
A must have web hosting for newbie’s. We all know that having a website is crucial for a serious internet marketer. Everyday lots n lots of newbie internet marketers are flocking into the world of IM because it is one of the best, lucrative income generating jobs. I personally used 1&1 when I initially started my IM career. This is great for newbie’s considering the price and performance of buying a domain and hosting it. One of the best things about 1&1 is it's customer support. They all are very helpful and prompt in their response. I faced a lot of problems when I started out initially, but customer support really helped me through it. I suggest if you’re a newbie and want to test drive your webhosting consider this. One of the best things about 1& 1 is this control panel which is very intuitive and great for newbie’s who don’t have a clue about hosting and stuff. They also include website building tools, but I prefer not to use that as it's just a basic tool. However, if you are serious about webhosting, I recommend you to try “go daddy” and “host gear” All in all a must try webhosting service for newbies.

1&1 - Good partner, great customer service
I've been using their service for 2 years with my old Vietnamese website ... Now for some reason I can't afford to do it and cancel their service since November 2008.
Customer Service:
I must say they have got the best customer service compared to other hosting companies (Hostgator, Webhosting ... ). Usually, my question got answered in around 1 hour and it's always helpful ...
When I stopped using their service, they only need 1 day to make the deal done and I didn't get billed for 1 more month like other companies.
Product:
My website ran well with their basic web hosting. There is very little problem and downtime.
I'll rate them grade B (Their product is still a little bit expensive compared to others.

Cheap and effective
I really like 1&1 web hosting!
Firstly, what drew me to try them out was the incredibly low price and the three month trial period, which is very generous for a starting offer. Since they've been on the market for so long, a good service is an obligation and they certainly live up to the demands. They keep what they promise, are trustworthy and have great support. They're also very good at pin pointing each customer's individual demands, which made me feel safe. They're big, they're experienced and they're cheap, what more can you ask for. ;)

Awesome Web Hosting For Newbies
I was a newbie in WebHosting. My very first experience for web hosting was a tragedy. Maybe I was scammed, or maybe I was stupid and inexperienced. Many WebHosting companies offered great hosting plans at a low price but with awful service. I've tried so many webs hosting sites on the search engines but this "1&1 Web Hosting" site is different from others. If you are new to WebHosting, you should try them out. 1&1 is positively one of the cheapest web hosting services out there with good hosting packages and great customer service. The website itself is very easy to use and clear, you find what you hope without searching for hours. 1&1 Web Hosting is one of my favorite web hosts, since they give you many options and offer you many extras both at an affordable price.

1&1 Hosting is one of the best
1&1 Hosting provides decent hosting. When I signed up, I joined their plan for $19.99 a month. That included the first 3 months free which was the baited hook that reeled me into the plan. I was quite satisfied with the service and have no complaints. The plan also included web space of 1 GB, which was more then enough for me at the time.
What I liked most about 1&1 Web Hosting is that they were really reliable. My site was up all the time when I checked it. If 1&1 keeps up the good work, they will make a good quality name for themselves.
I recommend 1&1 web Hosting for anyone looking for a reasonable plan with reliable service for their web site needs.

Had good Experience!
I had hosted 3 websites on 1&1 web hosting. It had a good up time and when I had a technical problem the team of 1 & 1 web hosting helped me by getting the problem solved. It has good customer service.
They had a good configuration of hosting. I am using the basic plan of 1 & 1 web hosting and my websites are going well. 1 & 1 web hosting would be a low cost and reliable one to use.
I am also thinking about starting 2 more websites and I will surely host them on 1&1 web hosting servers. I mostly recommend them to the newbies of Internet who want to start a website of their own.

Excellent Web Hosting
I needed to make a site so I searched around. I found out about this site and made a site. I cannot tell you how amazing this works for me. The cost is cheap to have your own domain. I get so much space and bandwidth from them, I can keep using this site for a while.

A moderate web host
1&1 is a moderate web hosting company with good prices. You get your hosting free for three months. And after that you only pay $19.99 per month. They give you 1 GB web space. But it is more than enough. Also they have their special control panel in where you can control your web sites easily. They have firewall for security and also they backup your site daily for risks. If you don't like their web hosting you can cancel your account in 90 days.

Amazing Web hosting Site
I've tried so many web hosting sites on the search engines but this "1&1 Web Hosting" site is different from others. Some of them offer really, really low price for web hosting and I'm not satisfied with their plans, but this one looked good to me so I tried it. It's amazing that this "1&1 Web hosting" site is the most reliable hosting site I've ever tried. The price if it's hosting plans are reasonable and yet affordable for everyone. As an Internet marketer I suggest that you should try "1&1 Web hosting" when your looking for a reliable and low cost hosting site when your starting your Internet marketing career. Try it and you will see. It's worth it for your money.

Decent For The Novice
If you are new to webhosting, you should try these guys out. They are pretty good, they have domain registration with them too, which makes it easy to get domains and just place it on your account. However, I noticed poor customer service when I first signed up and didn't understand why it took so long for my domain to get working. The service itself was decent, if you're looking to go pro, use HostGator. Best host out there right now. Overall though, they get the job done.

Great hosting plan at incredibly low price!
It's not an easy job to find a good yet professional webhosting solution. Many webhosting companies offers great hosting plans at a low price but with bad service, or maybe you need to pay a lot more to get a good service. It's not a good solution.
I personally liked 1&1 with it's great hosting plans. Reliable hosting plan at incredibly low price. It's hard to find one like this. I was very happy with their 99.9 uptime, cool features with useful easy-to-use tools included in the hosting panel, and helpful customer service.
They also offer some promotional packages that you can try, at sure low price, but well-worth the money!
1&1 is definitely one of the cheapest web hosting services out there with good hosting packages and great customer service.
I would recommend this to anyone that needs a good, cheap, yet professional web hosting service. :)

Pretty Good
Finding a good web hosting service can be difficult, but after having bad luck with a couple of them I came across 1&1 Internet. Their fees are reasonable, their registration process and setup is quick and easy, and their customer support informative and useful. I purchased my domain name through them and I was pleased at the cost. Definitely a good price. And I experienced no delays or technical difficulty during my experience with this company. Pretty good.

A no go from me!
I used 1&1 a few years back for my very first web project. Back then I was a teen and naive. The first few months went really well then it went down hill from there, I experienced some very bad down time (was down at least once a week) and when asked for support they didn't acknowledge me and made out it was my internet connection (even though none of my users could view the site either).
I'm not sure if they have improved on their servers and customer support, but I won't even resort to going back to them!

I don't like it
I don't like this hosting company because they don't have good services and they don't give good support. I tried it a few months ago and I wasn't so happy with them. My site goes down, I got many visitors to my site and they close it. I tried to contact the support and they didn't answer me. Have you ever tried to get a domain name from them? It is a very bad service, you better buy from other sites. At the prices that they have, 19.99$ a month, I am totally disappointed. I don't like their services and I will never use it.

Reliable webhosting at a very low price
I have used many hosting sites. The issues with most average hosting site are they charge less for the first year hosting, but then they make it up, by charging double the next year. I felt really cheated on this. But 1&1 web hosting company does not fall under this category which I really appreciate about them.
They also provide good support which is the most important aspect when availing a hosting service. Their offers are very price competitive and are easily upgradable when needed.
The most interesting part is they also have the inclusion of features such as free Adwords vouchers, tools and graphics for enhancing the site at a discounted rate.
I highly recommend this hosting site.

Domain and Hosting
I use to host at 1&1. Great service. I love their Customer Support and they have really good hosting. I love how many add-ons they have too. It's amazing. This is probably by far the best ever. My site was down once when I had hosting there and it was only down for about 1 hour so it was no biggie. And I hosted there for 2 years.

Good Service And Very Reliable
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE 1&1 OF COURSE! Well first of all they always have the best specials around and their customer service is A++++. If you have a problem with your domain you can just call them right up, they even call you when you sign up and ask if you need anything. Sometimes they just call out of no where to see if they can help you in any way. I bought my first domain from 1&1 and I didn’t know how to set up the DNS with my hosting service which is Hostgator, so I called them right up and they taught me how to do it. They also have tutorials to help you with anything and you can pretty much find the answer to anything there.
Only problem I have ever had with them is that they shut down one of my adult sites without any warning. Also you can get a few free domains when you first buy a hosting package which is a great deal! Also their mailing service is not very good, but it is a great service nonetheless.

1&1 service/plans/features
To start off, 1&1 is great web hosting company. Their packages are filled with a lot of features, good capacity for your hosting needs and great customer services. However, there are quiet a few other hosting companies that are offering the same packages with more disk space, more bandwidth. You can choose from many options/services/plans/features/technologies, they have it all. But in the end, it's the hosting company you're with counts.

A good service
I actually have a site hosted on 1and1 and yet I didn't have any problems with the hosting, they have very cheap plans with good features but the problem is their support. I've send they a email asking about mod rewrite and NEVER gotten a response.
In resume, a nice web hosting service but with not too nice tech support.

1&1 - A great and durable opportunity
I tried this web hosting for 1 month and I am very satisfied. First the website itself is very simple to use and clear, you find what you expect without searching for hours. Then the different offers are pretty good (I took the second plan "1&1 Home"), you have at least one domain included, a 150gb web space (with my offer) and offers you lots of possibilities to stock your files etc... Another thing is that there are lots of promotions every time, for example now you have 3 months free on the last 3 offers !
So, I think 1&1 is a very great web hosting, simple, complete and a good support 24h/24.

Great and Cheap site
They are a well known company and I decided to try them. They offers lots of space. The most interesting part that is their hosting price was so cheap. The site is very good. It is easy to use even if you are a newbie. FTP access is fast and I haven't had problems with it. In my opinion, I can say that the support is very fast and helpful.

Vey Nice Hosting Site
I have been using 1&1 Web Hosting services for one year now. This site offers one of the best web hosting services on the net in my opinion. I purchased a beginner plan to hosting one of my sites. I never really find any trouble or difficulties with them because their support services are ready to help you anytime. All of my questions were responded to well. The most interesting part that is their hosting price was so cheap. That really helps people with low of budget. With that cheap price I get a fast and reliable hosting services. Overall, I really recommend you to try their hosting services.

Good service
I was working on a few websites hosted at 1and1 and ran into a few problems with the server. Nothing serious, and their support was very professional and fast.
Apache settings on Linux hosting package were kinda strange (mod rewrite), and there was no option to turn safe_mod off.
Also, control panel is ok, but it would be better to use cPanel.
Someone wrote that limited number of databases is a minus, but to be honest who needs more than 2? I never did.
As the biggest advantage, I would state server uptime. At the time I was managing websites hosted on 1and1, their average uptime was around 96%, which is very good.
Every webhosting provider say 99.99 uptime guarantee, but that is a lie. No one has such uptime. Everything above 96 is excellent.
There are better and cheaper webhosting companies, and certainly with higher uptime.

Way too Long to get setup
I signed up for a web domain through them since I have just joined Wealthy Affiliate(free web hosting). I saw that it was recommended by many people and websites, so I used 1&1. When I registered my domain I expected for it to be set up instantly, however some confusing message came on saying I would have to have a 200 dollar limit or something on my paypal to register. I just clicked continue. Anyway I waited 24 hours like it said and I never heard back from them. 2 days later they emailed stating they could not set up my domain and to call them.
I found another website, domain.com, and it was setup instantly!

Awesome Web Hosting! Great Price! Great Service!
1&1 Web Hosting is one of my favorite web hosts because they provide you with numerous options and offer you numerous extras both at an affordable price. The general hosting 1&1 offers is great, it has a great reputation for its uptime and reliability. In my opinion it does lack customer support to some degree, they don't respond as hastily as I would of deemed satisfactory. Nevertheless this has not influenced my solid rating, I have given 1&1 an A. This is thanks to the ingenious design of the website and the companies principles.
Overall Rating; A

Great Webhost but sometime run slow
Sorry If I'm different with the other's comment.
I just try to write an honest review about the host. I have used 1 and 1 for my client several time. 1 thing about this webhost is They're very good in customer support and security. They're using Their own system not using a standard cpanel based for webhosting. I think this is also a consideration for some people that's not familiar with cpanel.
Other things to consider is 1and1 is heavy to be loaded for customer like me that live outside US. I think It's for the sake of security but I think They should make the site load faster using the lighter programming tools.
Thanks, that's all from me.

Good budget hosting
If you just need a place to put your basic website and buy a domain, 1&1 is a good choice. I'd say that their biggest competitor is godaddy, who is a little more expensive for about the same service. Their online site builder is OK, but uploading your own files or going with a CMS always works better.
I experienced fast server response times, good support, and thought it was a very good value at $1.99/mo for their basic package.

I would recommend this to anyone because their web hosting price is very cheap. Another thing I like is their customer support. They are very helpful. Whenever I ask something they are answering fast. I like the fact that the pages are loading very fast. The only thing you should keep in mind is that if you want to cancel you will need to pay a cancellation fee. Some of the members are complaining about this. Apart from this I consider this is a great web hosting company. I am hosting with them 3 of my websites and I am very pleased.

Cheap and Efficient Web Hosting
This was definitely one of the cheapest web hosts I was able to find for my site, and they had grade customer service. My site never experienced any downtime, and pages loaded very quickly. Unfortunately, I no longer needed my website they were hosting, so they made me pay a cancellation fee, which was the only way for me to get out of the hosting plan. If you're looking for an affordable, reliable hosting service, 1and1 is what you're looking for.

1&1 web hostin is the best
I'm hosting 5 sites, 3 of them are at 1&1 Web hosting. I will have more funds soon and I will transfer the other 2 sites to 1&1. The support is brilliant, the hosting is superb, 10 of 10. They are 99% online, what more do you want?:). Although it would be good if they had some kind of promo packages or something like that, it would definitely be good for them.

Pretty good service
I was looking for a cheap and good webhost service and decided to go with 1and1. I had some trouble setting up my FTP program and called them up, and their customer service rep was really nice. Their prices are fair and service is very good. Would definitely recommend 1&1 to anyone else. Not sure, but I think they also offer free webhosting services, so if you're tight on a budget, check out 1&1 for a great experience.

Pretty Good! But better out there!
This is a cool little web-host but isn't much better than any of the other web-host out! If you're looking to get your feet wet and monetize your website this is probably a great place to start! But don't expect much else from 1&1 Web hosting! The customer support seems to be great on this product though! I have one website currently utilizing 1&1 Webhosting!

Good host, less then perfect phone support
1&1 Web Hosting has been very good to me over the past few years. The only issue is when I need to speak to someone about billing or another customer support issue, it falls in there bankers hours time periods. I was very happy with there service, and I beat the heck out of there developer plan until I needed more. I was getting error 500 all the time, I was sending to many requests to there servers and it was just blocking the hits. I could not handle missing any traffic pointing towards my sites. I was very happy with them as a small to medium traffic site, but with a high end site like the picture hosting service I run now it almost not worth it, and I needed to go with a VPS or dedicated host to handle my requests. I also did not like that you have to turn on PHP5. By default PHP 4 is on and I didnt like that. I just want to know that my scripts are running and not dying. Also there is a 100MB limit on your MYSQL databases, so trim your databases or you will see some loss.

I love 1&1
1&1 has been a great hosting site for me. I shopped around forever looking for a reliable host and finally ran across them. The price is affordable and it's easy to build an okay site without much site building knowledge. I had ran across them once before and liked the price and details and kept a mental note of the site but was unsuccessful finding it back. The reason why is for some reason I kept thinking the name was l&l that is my only complaint with the site. When finally finding it back by luck of chance and purchasing hosting from them I have no complaints at all. Bottom line, affordable web hosting with easy to use features and a lot of extra perks.

Great Webhost
Well to start off with I ventured into a long list of "free" web hosts until I found 1&1 Web Host. It was very newbie friendly as I just wanted to host a forum for my gaming clan. I adored the website builder, it helped a total dunce in web hosting make a professional website. Their support is great. After a few months I needed more features that I had to pay for, but it was worth it.

Plain Fantastic
What can I say, 1 and 1 hosting is great. I came upon them when I registered another domain and was looking for a fair price. 1 and 1 registered my .com for $6.99 and added privacy for free. I also went ahead and got hosting through them and currently pay $3.99 a month. I was so pleased with them and there user admin panel that I transferred all my domains to 1 and 1. Great company, great service and great prices.

As a newbie I was a customer at 1&1
My very first attempt to have my own domain and website was troublesome. My very first attempt was a disaster. Maybe I was scammed, or maybe I was (stupid) inexperienced. (It was another provider than 1&1). My second 'go for it' was 1&1 and I still believe that their service is very good for beginners. So even though I don't use them anymore, I rate them as fairly good.
What I wanted at that time was to get 2-3 domain names with websites and one or two e-mail accounts. So as a start I registered a domain name that even came with some limited hosting and 1 email account. I cannot remember how many months the hosting and mail was free, but anyway a deal like that is very good for a beginner who (like I was) is in a 'try-fail-learn' phase.
The service also included a 'site builder' program. But as a complete newbie I had some difficulties; they had a phone call service (even with a free number). However, (and it is entirely my mistake) I live in Scandinavia, so a free number is of no use. 1&1 has European branches, and I was recommended to join there; but in my searching I found something else.
That the 'relationship' between me and 1&1 didn't turn out to be a permanent one is obviously entirely my fault. At first I changed the name servers to another host, and later I even transferred the domain itself. The change and transfer took place with without any difficulties and it is my impression that 1&1 offered a good and honest service.

Good service
For the past 9 months I've been using the 1&1 web hosting services and haven't found anything I could complain about yet. The price is really affordable and whenever I called the support I got excellent advice which was really helpful. All in all 1&1 is the best webhosting provider I've used in the past years.

The Cheapest Best Solution, Great for Beginners
1&1 is one of the cheapest webhosts out there... and for what you are paying for you can't get a better deal or bargain. I have been a customer of theirs for two years and have no plans or intentions to ever switch unless I needed something they don't offer. I have used their basic home package (2 included domains for $4.95 a month) until upgrading recently to the developer package because my website hobby has turned into a full time venture and more MySQL databases where necessary.
Here's a summary of what I think about 1&1:
Reliability: Super reliable, in the two years I have hosted with them the worst I have ever experienced was a 10 minute outage one day, which I think also coincided on a day when a tornado went through near where their data centers are located. (They are located in Kansas after all!) Other than that all of my sites have good loading times and are always up.
Customer Service: The customer service is not fantastic, but it's way better than GoDaddy. Be prepared if you call to talk to someone who does not speak fluent English or has an accent you might have trouble understanding - but that's anywhere these days. I called them once, I think I was on hold for like 5 minutes and it was taken care of pretty quickly. The email support is what I prefer - though that once in awhile can be broken English and sometimes confusing too, though generally much easier for me personally. If you get them at the right time the response is really quick - I've emailed them on a Friday night with a response the next day - though other times I've waited 24 hours or longer for a response. The best thing really is that I rarely need to call them for anything. Their FAQ/Help center online is pretty thorough, though somewhat confusing at times if you are a beginner.
Extra Perks: There are some little extra perks, like free Adwords vouchers, free graphics for your site, some software at discounts, etc. Nothing really stands out as amazing, but nice to have also.
Domain Registering: I love registering domains with them. For starters, they don't have any crazy hassle for transferring domains like GoDaddy has given me if you go from one registrar to another. They also give you FREE private domain registration, which is a nice added bonus too since I don't want people looking up my whois info and knocking on my door. They're also very reasonable in price - you get included free domains and others start at $6.99 the first year and then $8.99 after that. They constantly have specials too. I buy a lot of domains, they are almost always ready to use within 24 hours, which is fine with me because after I have the inspiration to buy one I need some time to plan the site out a little first anyways. :)
Email: The web-based email is clunky and tough to use, I hate that aspect of it. But, if you stream it through a program like Thunderbird or Outlook all is well and it's reliable. The developer's package has an email marketing program included, which I've yet to really implement, though I've experimented with it. In my opinion, you'd be better off to stick with people or software that specializes in email marketing (ie: Aweber, ConstantContact, MadMimi, Send2 etc. ) - the interface at 1&1 is clunky as can be.
I have about 30+ sites hosted with them, some of which get over 100k visitors a month - I have yet to even make a small dent in the space I have available or bandwidth (though I think that may now be unlimited).
All in all, a great starting solution for just about anybody who wants to get a website up and running in 24 hours. Def recommend them - and I've managed to cover my hosting costs and then some through their affiliate program as well. :) Sure, they have some pros and cons - but the price is unbeatable for what you are getting in my opinion.

Overall, I'm happy with this web hosting company
I've used 1&1 Web Hosting for several months. While I'm quite happy with my experience overall, there are few noteworthy points that have caused some disappointment.
- After I signed up for my account, it was on hold for over a week before it got activated. Apparently, this had something to do with my being located in Finland, which isn't an area that they focus on that much.
- The user interface of their webmail was really clumsy. However, this has recently changed for the better.
But when looking at the big picture, there's not much to complain. I haven't had any real issues with server downtime, unexpected technical difficulties, or anything like that. Some of the small things that I like and have taken use of are the graphics/photo galleries and content feeds that they provide for their customers' use. (And there is also some of the standard stuff like advertising vouchers, etc. )

Great Webhosting Service
I have been using 1&1 Web Hosting services for over a year now and they have been great! They offer great features such as multi-user FTP access and PHP hosting. And they are always up, I have never noticed if my site went down. I would recommend 1&1 to anyone who is thinking about hosting a website.

An affordable web host
1 & 1 Web Host is a reliable web host and the price is affordable. Even though many people have complaints regarding it, I have nothing to complain about them. They are providing us with good disk space and bandwidth. They have wonderful services like site builder from which beginners are able to choose a template for their website and build it easily, forums, blogs, photo gallery etc. Registering a domain with them was also very cheap. So far it's good for me and my website hasn't experienced down time.
Conclusion:
I recommend this web host to anyone who is looking for a good, cheap web host. You’ll be completely satisfied with their service.

1and1 is the worst host i've used
1 and 1 were the first web hosting company that I used. Their prices were very attractive and what I got for the price of the package seemed very reasonable. After I few days using the service, I decided to cancel my contract with them. Half of the features the package contained didn't work the way they were supposed to and the 1 and 1 support was terrible. It took me 4 days to get a reply to a simple question I had, and even then, the reply just contained a link to the on site FAQ, which did not answer my question. 1 and 1 offered a money back guarantee, which I did not receive with the excuse from 1 and 1 that I was not eligible to get my money back due to the fact that I had switched my package previously. I would avoid 1 and 1 and look for a better host.

1&1 Web/Domain Hosting is Reliable
1&1 is by far one of my most reliable & cheapest paid web hosting I've ever used in my life.
I remember 1&1 had a promotion of a free .info domain extension of $0 USD charge of a year free. I also purchased their web hosting.
Their hosting is so reliable/professional.
I would rate 1&1 85-90% best of all the other hosts alive. I never had downtimes on the web hosting or domain name, never, not a minute or so on 1&1.

Great Host For Newbies
1&1 is great starter hosting for someone who doesn't know what they're doing when building a website. Their prices aren't the cheapest around, but it's affordable and has 99.98% uptime. Not once was my websites down because of their servers. They have many features that anyone can get the hang of in a matter of seconds. Everything from building your first html website to making a wordpress blog.
The one thing that I did not like about 1&1 is that I received slow support. It took about a day to reply to any ticket I had made. Now I feel I should get what I pay for when it comes to support. Other then that, 1&1 is a great web hosting service and deserves a B.

1&1 Web Hosting Was Awesome For Me!
I have used 1&1 Web Hosting since they first came out and were brand new. I think they just get better and better over time! They offer a very easy web editor that you can learn in a matter of minutes and have your own website up and running in less time than you spend for lunch! You can use their hosting if you know very little about creating a webpage and it will look very professional. If you know a little about creating webpages, then it even offers you more options to have a great website. I highly recommend this company to new users who want a beautiful online presence and experienced users who want to build on what they already have!

Good choice
This is the hosting company that I used when I was a new Internet marketer. It has a friendly interface and is easy to use - I got used to it in hours and I was still a newbie. I have never had problems with their uptime. It is great - 99.95% uptime! You can get as much space and bandwith as you want and it is not expensive. You can install ready systems like Wordpress in just 2-3 clicks. 1&1 hosting company is an old company with many satisfied users including me. I am very pleased with this company and I still use them. It is strongly recommended if you are looking for a good hosting company.

Terrific for web hosting!
I have been using 1&1 Web Hosting for over a year now, and I have got to say it has been very helpful. It is a popular service and many of my relatives and friends have recommended this for my gaming website. The main reason why I like it is because the cost is relatively cheap, about $5 per month. The program hosts my website very well. I love the communication tools which are included on the web hosting program as well as chat rooms and forums can be created. The service is very good and gives you much user friendly advice. I would say 1&1 Web Hosting is one of the best around. I rate this an A.

Great and cheap
They are a well known company in the web hosting services and I decided to try them. They offer lots of space and bandwith cheap. I like their custom control panel. It is easy to use even if you are a newbie. There is a custom Wordpress install which is very useful. FTP access is fast and I haven't had problems with it. Their uptime is good - 99-100%. Their support isn't the best, but is pretty fast and helpful. It is very important to read the order and refund terms very carefully because they will charge you for services you don't want to renew! I recommend 1&1 web hosting for all of you - from newbies to pros!

Hosting was solid enough, but ethics are extremely questionable
A while back I had hosting with 1and1. I kept them for a year and even bought a domain name from them. A year later, they attempted to recharge my card to renew the domain name. I was unaware of this. The card account that I used to buy it a year prior had already been closed. I got emails complaining that they hadn't been paid the $3.95 for the domain name renewal that they were running at the time. I emailed back saying that I didn't want to renew the domain name. They tried to run it again, obviously to no avail. A little while later I got a letter telling me my account had been sent to collections and that I owed them $24 and some charge for collection fees. Can you believe that? Naturally, they never got the money, and I closed all business with them immediately after receiving no acceptable response about the situation.
The service itself was good when I had it, but after that, I would never, EVER recommend 1and1 to anybody that I didn't hate.

Nothing but trouble
Purchased hosting package for a few domains, the experience was just horrible from the beginning. For 2 whole weeks I have been unable to access my projects for upgrading. They of course apologized and told me that they would fix the issue asap (within 48hrs). Do you know it took these people another week to get me back up and running? I mean seriously that's ridiculous. I run a music production site. We are always uploading and upgrading bringing our members new sounds, tutorials etc. Because of 1&1's horrible customer service I had to give nearly $700 back to my customers because my host couldn't get their act together and get issues taken care of in a timely fashion. So in the end I had lost money dealing with this company. I had to find a different host and basically rebuild. My advice, don't go with this company, especially at the monthly rate they charge.

Amazing quality service - Any blogger would be happy with the service
I used to be a regular blogger and php developer and was paying 1&1 for a small dedicated server, it took a few days to set up and after that I extremely happy with the service I received.
The server I leased was managed by them which meant little work for me and all I had to do was blog to make back some of the money from Google Adsense. The only time I ran into trouble with 1&1 was when there was a 2-3 day long power outage, but even then I was refunded a weeks worth of fees. One of the best hosting companies around.

Cheap Storage!
I've used 1&1 Web Hosting since last Christmas. I hosted my blog and forum on it. I really liked 1&1 Web Hosting due to the fact the price is equivalent to the amount of storage you need. I only paid $4 because I didn't store much on the server. The other thing I like about the hosting service is its great customer feedback, after having a problem with one of my servers they were VERY quick to bring it back. Overall the best hosting service I have been with due to its cheap and simple service! Rated A :)

1&1 is good for Personal Users
I have used 1&1 web hosting for many different things - a personal blog, a gaming website, and a forum. They give me all I need for their very low price of only $3.99 a month, because I don't need that much disk space, bandwidth, and other complex features. I can just use their web hosting over GoDaddy, and can host my site pretty well every month, for a low price. The price you pay, and what you get are very reasonable. If you are someone who needs a lot of bandwidth, disk space, and the other complex features (such as SQL databases), you should choose the professional plan. In my opinion, this site beats all other web hosting if you'd like to start a small forum, personal site, or gaming site.

Reliable and cheap web hosting!
I have been using 1&1 Webhosting for a while now, and I must say that I am very pleased with their service. I have around 5 different websites registered with them, and none of these websites experience any problems at all. They provide a good amount of bandwidth and space and offer features like redirecting. The hosting is the cheapest I have ever seen. I am only paying around $10 per month for this hosting which is extremely cheap. When I first signed up with them, I did have a few questions, and their customer support was ready to help me. This web hosting service has been very reliable and the customer support is great. This is one of the best hosting services out there. It is reliable and simple to use. I give this website two thumbs up.

Canceling URLs is a pain with this company
I have used 1and1 webhosting for my personal page and 3 of my work pages. while I was under their service, everything was running smoothly. the customer support line is always available and the prices for their services are VERY competitive. I did not start seeing problems until I tried canceling one of my work pages. For one, the company didn't reply to my first request and when they did reply, 2 and a half weeks already past, allowing the company another payment from my credit card. it was a game of cat and mouse until I finally managed to discontinue my service with this company. my advice to you, use 1and1 webhosting if you plan on keeping your websites FOREVER.

The worst registrar & hosting co. I've come across, ever
They sent me to collections just because I had to shut-down my credit card because they kept charging me for URLs that I asked not to be renewed. They make it extremely hard to cancel URLs. They want you to fax proof that you're the owner of said URLs and they still ignore your documents and charge you anyway. I have proof. I have all the back-and-forth emails we exchanged. On many occasions they'd just ignore me and kept on charging for URLs I didn't want anymore. See ripoffreport for proof of their thieving ways. I even registered a URL to expose these kind of thieves: 1000-top-internet-thieves-and-scum-of-the-earth.

1&1 is the best host ever!
I have been using 1&1 now for a few years to host over 10 websites that I own. It started with my personal site 5 years ago and I saw an ad in the magazine for 1&1. They provide a lot of space for the deals that they have. Right now I am paying only $10/month and they have 24/7 CUSTOMER SUPPORT. You can't find this anywhere else on the web.
I have not had any down time with 1&1 and am very happy with their customer support. I called them a few times already and they pick up right away with NO MACHINES.
Overall I would not choose any other hosting provider for my websites other than 1&1!

The best out there
This website has been nominated for and received many awards and only after joining did I find out why. Every package it offers is fairly cheap, domain names + web hosting + support any time for under $10 which is unbeatable as you should plan to make a lot more than this! The support is always there, and I have never had any problems to date in my 2 years using 1&1 web hosting. It's exactly what you should be looking for if you want a website, and it has a reasonable bandwidth if you have downloadable files/lots of people on your website! Worth the money, if your looking for a website, try this!

Happy Customer for Over 5 years
I have been with 1&1 for over five years and I am very happy with their service. Phone and email support has been very good and 1&1 always follows up with a survey on how satisfied you were. My sites are light traffic, so I don't really test the limits. I have never noticed downtime however. The mail servers are down from time to time, but they are back online quickly (usually within minutes, sometimes 20 minutes). Prices have been steadily increasing, but I think they are still among the best. Since I am in Canada, I really wish they would offer . ca domains. That's my only real beef.

I would recommend 1&1 to anyone looking for hosting
I've been using these service since June 2009. I'm very happy in using this service. Their support is very good, and I liked their control panel. This web hosting is very credible. I use home: $2.49 per month for 6 months then $4.99 after, 50 domains, 100 subdomains, 120 GB disk space, 1,200 GB bandwidth, 25 SQL databases, 10 FTP accounts. I recommend the Linux hosting packages for basic websites because they are cheaper, more reliable and seem to offer more options (SQL Databases, PHP Support, etc. ). I’ve used a lot of hosting sites and so far so good with this one.
I would recommend 1&1 to anyone looking for hosting.

Excellent web host!
1&1 is the best service I have used for web hosting to date. Their servers are very reliable, and I experience very little downtime. Customer Service is kind and actually helpful to the customer to make them happy. Out of all the services I have tried, 1&1 was by far the superior. No other sites can compare to it.

Using 1&1 webhosting since years
I happen to use 1&1 webhosting since a few years because I'm also using their internet & phone service. When I subscribed for this I got free webhosting plus one domain as an extra. I found their service pretty good and bought some other domains & webspace. Until now I didn't experience any serious server downtimes. The only thing I don't like about 1&1 is the customer support - in my opinion customer support phone numbers should be free of charge which isn't the case with 1&1 (at least in my country). Furthermore it's really difficult to find someone who is in charge for certain problems and sometimes I spent up to 30 minutes just waiting to get through which can be quite annoying. Other than that I'm pretty content with 1&1.

Blogger of 100 years
Like quite a lot of people, I'm a blogger. And since I began blogging, I wanted to have my own web space like all those fancy blogs do.
So while blogging, I started my research for a decent webhost. My priorities back then were:
- enough space (for my vid's and other heavy stuff)
- a high traffic limit
- it has to be free
And somewhere on my google-journey, I found 000Webhost. It looked good. Well, it had all the things I wanted and more. A great 1.5 Gb of space and a decent 100 Gb traffic. And all of that for free.
I mean, I've heard of worse PAID webhosts. So I gave it a shot.
After a few month, I was still satisfied. It had no live support or some fancy protocol's support. But for a free webhost, you shouldn't expect any live support I think. And those protocols, I didn't even know what they were.
I didn't experience any troubles about account cancellation. And I regularly uploaded some stuff, so I wasn't threatened by an erase of my weblog either.
In one sentence: this is a good FREE webhost, but if you go really pro, even this one can't replace a good paid webhost.

Perfect webhost - for all claims
I have a company and my old webhost has been closed, so I needed a new one. My priorities are: Easy to program, huge space and good security.
So I search for a few days and then I found 1&1 Web Hosting. I’m really amazed they offer good service, perfect servers and you can choose Windows or Linux! Now after a few months, I’m still happy, no crashes, 24h phone support. In one sentence: A perfect webhost for all claims and I like giving my money for this.

Good value hosting
I bought two domains with 1&1, and purchased their basic ecommerce package. I found the domains to be of good value and never had any problems from them with regards to the hosting. However, I found the ecommerce solution a bit too complicated and wasn't able to create my own website successfully. I then decided to go elsewhere. I transferred one of my domains with no problems and canceled the other one. Unfortunately they have no record of me canceling the other one and have billed me for an additional year. I would think twice about using them again.

Great Hosting Company
This is a very good web host. What I like about it is that it has Python and Perl CGI compatibility which not many web hosts have. And it has PHP cURL so it is really nice to have. And when I bought their cheapest package for cheap, I noticed that they were always on the un-hackable linux kernel. I always try to keep my website safe, and this web site does it for me automatically, I must say I am impressed. This website has Fantastico installed on it so it is a really good website. I would recommend this hosting for some regular users. :D

Great for just starting out
I used 1&1.com when they were offering free website hosting. It worked great, did the job, and it was free! I recommend using a free hosting company when you are just in the building and planning stages of your site because you aren't wasting any money. I don't think they are 100% free anymore, but it looks like they still give you a few free months to get started.

Pretty Good Hosting
Ive used this hosting for just one year because I reverted to free webhosting, but apart from that I would highly recommend using 1 and 1 webhosting. I have a lot of friends who give a lot of positive feedback on the site and encourage others to use it. I host some proxy websites and so I need a good hosting that has good uptime and is fairly cheap to run, which is why I registered with one and one hosting.
They have top notch customer service and is very user-friendly.
This site offers great services that you shouldn't pass.

Not A Good Experience
When I first started out in the online market, doing Web Design & Development, I needed a good web host. 1&1 was one I found, and the prices were excellent and their packages were decent, so I decided to go with them. I had made a mistake on purchasing a Windows Server instead of a Linux Server, so I thought "No biggie, I'll just call them and have them switch plans. " Boy was I wrong, after waiting on the phone for a solid 30 minutes, I get connected to technical support and explain the problem and their response was they could have it done, but not till the next month. WHAT?! Now, with a CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) and enough knowledge to code any dynamic (and host) website, I know that it does not take a month to change packages over, so I canceled my subscription and left to go find another host, which I have had no problems for.

Great, Just Great!
I use 1&1 Webhosting when I need to do a serious site! The prices are pretty low, the features are up-to those professional webhosting services which are expensive and better than most other webhosting services. The control panel is very easy and convenient to use, you won't be confused or disappointed.
I've been using 1&1 Webhosting for 4 months, and I must say they never disappointed me! I am sure you won't be having much to complain about. All the tools you need, with a very good price. Also the speed is very fast and reliable.

1&1 is holding my domain name ransom!
OK, I purchased a domain name mind-ya. biz through 1&1 and they provided the hosting for me. Well, I decided I wanted to transfer my domain name over to Microsoft Office Live, because I have another site that they host and I felt that Office Live did a better job and offered more benefits and features. So I went into my paypal account and canceled the subscription to 1&1 so that they couldn't automatically renew the subscription. Well, when I tried to have the domain name transferred to Office Live, Office Live told me to log into my user account on 1&1 and to change the DNS to theirs. When I logged in, that area was grayed out and it wouldn't allow me access to do such a thing. Also, My domain name is not expired, It is registered until December and it still shows 1&1 as the Registrar. When I contacted them to ask them to release my domain name so I could transfer it to Office Live, they told me there was no way to do that because I owed them money for another year because I canceled my subscription, and that they reported me to collections, and that was that. I paid for only 1 year and I had an auto renewal set up through paypal in the event I wanted to continue with them, but when I decided I didn't want to, I canceled. Now they are holding my domain name ransom!

Previously used 1&1 hosting
I previously used 1&1 for hosting a website of mine. I found them to be pretty much the most competitive on price and features than other hosting services.
Using their control panel was relatively easy and straightforward, and is certainly easier to use than some other providers.
I used their non-dedicated hosting service, and that was sufficient for me, so I imagine that the dedicated service is very good.
Managing email for your domain is also very easy from the control panel - it is very easy to change the A or MX records.
I would recommend 1&1 to anyone looking for hosting.

Great Value - Could Use Some Tweaking
I used 1&1 for Web Hosting for about 6 months. In that time I found the service to be extremely well put together; however some aspects of the process could be better thought out. First, is the cancellation process. You can't do it from the Control Panel, you have to go to a completely different web site. Next is the response time for service emails; a couple of my requests took almost 48 hours to be responded to. But the price, especially for beginner hosting, cannot be beat.

Great control panel
I just like to get at the specifics here and say that 1&1 offers a very user-friendly and simple to use panel, especially when compared to other web hosts such as GoDaddy. All important host functions are on the same page, and learning curve for the panel is only a few minutes. Being a web developer who has experience with a number of web hosting services, I found it very to easy navigate the panel and use FTP function to upload my client's site.

Great for the buck
A cheaper version of Go Daddy! With a basic user interface but effective service, I recommend them. They are based overseas but they accept PayPal, and I have had no problems. Their system makes it easy to build your site, go live, or park it. I would recommend them as a bargain web hosting and domain provider. I started using them around 2007 for two sites that were easy to build but discontinued services only because my websites made no profit. (wasn't their fault!) Was able to buy a .info site for less than $2, yes really!

You should check it out for sure
After reading all the reviews for different hosting sites I decided to try 1&1 about 3 months ago. I got the home plan which is really a great deal considering you get 1,200 bandwidth and I believe 50 domains with a bunch extra sub domains. I transferred my two sites over and have since launched a new site. I use videos and post them on each site daily, and have yet to have any real problems with the site (it was down one time that I can remember but that was late at night and it was quickly back up). It’s fast and the tutorials are fantastic. I’ve used a lot of hosting sites and so far go good with this one. I would recommend it to friends.

Better then the other ones I tried
Customer since May 2009.. Never experienced downtime and always had good speeds. Wanted to switch cause my previous webhost was down all the time due to too much traffic and too little or inferior infrastructure. Had to call the customer service only once: they made me pay too much... This turned out pretty good for me: 6 months for free!
Way better than other hosts in my opinion.

Not to shabby
I've tried my luck with this web hosting company. There isn't much to complain about. I mean for the most part I received a free domain name with my hosting plan. You can't beat that with a stick. And considering the fact that I was attempting to start a social networking site, they offered me unlimited traffic. If you are a web guru then you know having unlimited traffic can be a plus. Especially if you are tying to build a huge community.
The only thing I wasn't happy about was the fact that their uptime wasn't what they said it was. There were times where I ran into down times in the middle of the day. That to me is unacceptable because that can cause me to lose potential visitors. I ended up moving to another hosting company due to this issue.
Now I'm not saying that 1&1 web hosting is a horrible web hosting company because that would be a lie. I think they are perfect for people who are just starting out and need somewhere to begin. And if you are an ecommerce type of company then I would definitely tell you to take a shot at 1&1 web hosting.

Excellent customer service, very little downtime
A couple years back, 1&1 offered one free year of webhosting to whomever wanted it. No ads plastered on your site, nothing, all the bells and whistles. It seemed way too good to be true, but I tried it out. It was completely legit! My experience with the company was excellent. I hardly had any issues with the webhost, but whenever I needed technical support they delivered a response within a few hours of the request. My site had next to no downtime, and when the trial was nearing it's end they were extremely generous by first expanding the trial by a few more months and then alerting me to let me know to back up all of my information or subscribe to the service so my data wouldn't vanish. The restrictions on bandwidth and storage space never let me down, and I was able to use it as a host for 50MB+ videos and never hit the restriction. If I ever find myself in the market for a host again, 1&1 will be the first place I look.

Very good and quality web hosting!
I've been using these service since September 2009. I'm very happy in using this service. The administration panel is very useful and simple and online documentation is easy to understand. I moved my 2 sites over to 1&1 after one month. So I highly recommend all new customers to try this service. This is very good place for any kind of webmaster, blogger or site owner.

6 Month user.. Thumbs Up
I've been using 1&1 Web Hosting for about 6 months now. I moved from my old host because this seemed to offer more in the way of tools... and it sooo does.. :) I am happy with it.
It's also one of the cheapest, if not the cheapest, that is seen online. Although I wish I had waited a few more weeks because I missed out on a 6 months free deal that came in at one point.. lol.
Nevermind.
I'm currently a professional 9.99 per month user and I believe the tools that are offered vary with what package you have.

Ok, so I bought this hosting... I found it good.
The speed is fast and the service is reliable.
Also their Support is good. I liked their control panel. But the bad thing is that it was thirsty for money. It didn't care about it's competitors because it knew it was super. I have stood by them and their cancellation is speedy and no problems! I would recommend this host to anyone I know.

My bad experience with 1&1
I've been with 1&1 Web Hosting for quite some time now, and have been nothing but disappointed for a few reasons.
The hosting for me has been awfully slow (and no, it wasn't my internet connection) and my site was constantly down. The features that 1&1 offers all have limitations on them (email accounts, MySQL, etc), whereas most hosting companies now provide unlimited features.
I've emailed customer service many times, and always got automated replies, and rarely an actual answer. When I did get a real reply, it was usually just some rep linking me to the FAQ.
I wouldn't recommend 1&1 for serious web developers, but maybe for the small-time home internet entrepreneur, it may be worth it.

1 & 1 GO FOR IT, Worth it
I have been with 1 & 1 for over a year, and I am very happy with their services. I have about 6 domain names from them and use them for hosting.
What I like is that I have not gotten a notice that the cost of my domain names are increasing, like others have on a different site (not mention. )
They keep the cost low and the hosting and packages are so affordable. As well as easy to use, its great for the not so wealthy affiliate.
They have great deals at times; last year they "free" . biz for a year.

Good experience with multiple levels of 1and1 services
I use a range hosting services from 1and1 from basic Windows web hosting accounts to Linux and even hosted servers. This company is by far the best hosting firm I have used. They are not the cheapest, but you seem to get what you pay for. Cheaper hosting firms lack in performance, or customer service and that is not an area you want to compromise when you are relying on them for your business' success.
I recommend the Linux hosting packages for basic websites because they are cheaper, more reliable and seem to offer more options (SQL Databases, PHP Support, etc. ).
1and1 is my choice for domain registration as well. Again, not the cheapest option out there, but certainly the easiest to setup and the most reliable. GoDaddy seems to be cheaper but for more complicated to maintain and setup.

Good host, good service
This is a very good hosting service. The price is good (I took the cheapest option which is 4 bucks/month) and what you get for that price is even better: the cheapest option provides 10 GB (!) of disk space, which is at least 10 x more then I needed for my website (blog).
Like many webhosts these days, they provide advertising credits for Google and others. And it is easy to use with the WordPress software.
The customer service is great too. They answer as fast as they can and fix your problems.
One word: good host, good service, good specs and good price.

Not as expected
When I was looking around for a service, I wanted something that was going to work well with email specifically, along with all their other benefits, of course which was a plus. The email was fine, got the job done, just wasn't as great as I expected it to be. Most of the time when I used it personally the site was very slow, the server seemed always lagging. I have to say, their price is unbeatable though, very reasonable, and cheap. So with their price in mind and knowing the job gets done with what was needed, overall it's a pretty good company.

I have seen better
My experience with 1&1 was not a very pleasant one for me and had trouble getting a refund which actually took almost a month to get.
They do have some great tools and most of the staff seems knowledgeable when you need help while others seem to take their sweet time getting back to me with issues such as down time with my site and the email service part most were not able to reach me which resulted in lost sales.
There are other better companies out there but if price is your concern then go with 1&1.

Competitive service at a not so competitive price
I’ve been using 1&1 for my main site for a little over a year now and although they can be considered quite pricey when compared to other bog standard services they are more than worth it should you not be as tech savvy as some. Most bog standard sites give you the required details and leave you to it; 1&1 offer much better quality services in that respect as they don’t just ‘leave you to it’. I found their advice both useful and informative and sorted out a lot of kinks on my site within days of publishing.
If I had to rate the service I’d give it a high C/low B. They offer a very good service though I don’t think the prices are as competitive as they could and should be.

Normal Services, Excellent Determination
As the title of this comment says, I don't believe that the services provided by HostGator is any different from most other web hosts out there, but what really strikes my attention about them is that they're committed to the advertisement and exposure of their services. If I remember correctly, just awhile ago they did a promotion in which you could get the first three months of any hosting, server, etc. for free. I've never seen any other prevalent web host do that, and still they have another promotion where for the first six months you can get 50% off of the payment, which is equivalent to the prior promotion save it doesn't allow for any freeloaders and whatnot. This is an excellent web host for anyone that is looking to have someone theoretically give you a big investment for your website in your promise of paying them back for the rest of the year.

Pretty Okay
I have had pretty a good experience with 1&1 hosting. After deciding to sign up with them to try a hosting package for a trial (they had sent me an e-mail) I was very satisfied with the ease of the site - although I felt as though GDI was easier when setting up my site, getting it running, etc. Overall I won't be returning to 1&1 due to the fact that I had an easier time on other sites - but for the more advanced user it's a great site!

Simple to use, and good support
I had first signed up for one and one when they were having one of their specials. It was 2.95 a month for hosting and domain name. So I signed up thinking I was going to try and do my own website for money making.
Once I was logged in their control panel was easy to use, and follow even for beginners. Editing your pages was as easy a couple of clicks, or uploading yourself was just as simple.
I signed up both my wife and brother for their websites as well using one and one, because of how happy I was with the simplicity of it, and the ease of use for beginners.
They also had feedback they could provide and web templates you could use as well, getting your web mail was no hard task either. Everything was always right there in front of you I really like this company as a web host, and would use them again.
Getting help online or over the phone was easy as well, and they always were so polite.
