The Banner Exchange started back in 2001 and is based in Chicago. It is a free ad marketplace for website owners to gain more website exposure. It is a good tool for branding and gaining more website visitors. They say banner advertising is effective because it not only drives clicks to your website, but builds your site's brand every time it's displayed

By placing their code on your own website and displaying other member's banners, you can earn yourself impressions/credits that are then used automatically.

A banner exchange is a group of websites that exchange advertising with each other. Each website has a banner advertisement that displays other website's banners. By displaying ads on their website, banner exchange members generate free advertising and site-linking for their own banners.

The Banner Exchange is over 10 years old and they are based in Chicago.

I personally have heard of The Banner Exchange and other banner exchange type programs when at one time they were a popular avenue of marketing. I have not heard much about them lately because of other marketing avenues like social networking and book marketing.

There is no cost to be part of The Banner Exchange. It is a great place to gain additional exposure for your website. If anything you can try it out and see if you see an increase of traffic to your website.

When I researched the company online, I did not find anything good or bad about being part of the network.

BannerExchange still going strong

Banner Exchange was the ideal attention grabber for any newly or advance Internet Marketer's website looking to grab visitors to gain exposure like certain "gurus" out there for free. The down side you would have to advertise other banners and the company’s logo on your site to gain exposure.

The fact is that it takes money to make money online, and Banner Exchange could bring great impressions to your newly developed website. Just because it offers the free advertising doesn’t mean that everything free is a go. I personally found it to work for me when I paid to have my banners advertised rather than someone else’s banner advertised on my page for measly impressions that do not guarantee the potential customer. All in all it is a good way to gain visitors or potential customers if you need traffic now and wouldn't mind spending a little change to get your business out there. It sure beats bugging my warm market to check out each and every affiliate site I own, believe me MLM has caught a bad rap by those who advertise to people they know, so this works out great for me.

Increased my referrals

Banner exchanging is a really useful method in many ways, not only do I use it to get traffic to your website, but for example, in my case, I used banner exchange to get direct referrals in a Paid To Click site which I invested and worked really hard, and with these new referrals I’m starting to make great profit.

Although there are better ways to gain traffic and exposure, this is fast, free and indeed effective. I’m making medium/low profit from it and I intend to duplicate it in a near future, I’m making more professional banners to attract more people.
