Entrecard Description

Entrecard is a free blog network that helps you get traffic to your blog, get more readers, and network with other bloggers. You advertise by putting a widget on your blog which looks like a business card. When you visit other members of Entrecard and “drop” your link on their widget, you earn EC credits which can then be used to buy advertising on other sites.

Entrecard Detailed Overview

Upon first reading about Entrecard, I thought it was a traffic exchange program targeted for blogs. Although similar, it has a couple of features that really makes it unique. First of all, the widget you create is a 125x125 card which you can display on your site.

You will have to visit other blogs in the network, and press the “drop” button on their card. When you successfully do this, you will appear in the inbox of that member’s dashboard which lets them visit your card in return. Dropping a card earns you 1 EC credits and also gets your blog seen by others.

The credits you earn can be used to buy ad space on other blogs in the network for 24 hours. The prices of the ad space vary on how active that member is and how much demand there is for his blog. If there are advertisers that have already request to buy an ad on that blog, you will be put in queue to get your ad placed.

If you have people requesting to buy ad space on your blog, you can go to your dashboard to either approve or decline them. The credit they are paying to get ad space on your site will be transferred to you. You can set your settings to auto-approve ads if this isn’t a big deal.

There are different ad formats from text links, inline ads, banner ads, and paid reviews you can accept. You can use OIOPublisher (ad managing software) which the company recommends you use to accept ad credits. This is separate software you have to purchase for $37. I don’t know why Entrecard decided not to add this in with their system. Maybe in the future an upgrade will be made to integrate other ad formats into Entrecard.

The one thing I liked about Entrecard is that you can categorize your site. Although most of the blogs in the network will be geared towards Internet marketers, there is still space for other niche blogs. The fact that you can also buy ad space on high profile blogs which would normally cost you hundreds of dollars is really beneficial.

Entrecard Reputation

Overall, Entrecard is a great concept but the reviews have been mostly negative. While the site does get you a good amount of traffic for free and helps you get your ad on high profile blogs, members have complained that too many people just drop their card without reading their blog.

This creates the same mentality of other traffic exchanges where members only view other people’s ads to get traffic to their own site. The good thing is that it will help you find and locate other blogs you can joint venture and network with.

Some bloggers have found the solution to the “drop and run” problem by posting links to interesting articles or offering something of value below the Entrecard widget. It is also recommended that you don’t try to put the widget on the top so people actually look around your blog for a bit. The biggest benefit of Entrecard is the ability to buy ads, which has paid off for members.

Good and Unique Traffic Exchange system

I've recently joined this site when I saw a lot of IMRC users give a positive reviews about this service. From my experience, I find this service to be very unique compared to most other Traffic Exchange. The rules are very simple and not complicated like most other services and so far the surf ratio is almost close to 2:1 for me.

However, I find this service is not effective at all for websites or blogs that's focused on pay-per-click ads instead of pay-per-view ads because almost all of the visitors to my website tend to just drop by and leave without even reading anything. The surf ratio is also pretty random so you can't really predict how much you'll get after surfing numbers of other member's websites. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with this traffic exchange even though there are still other services that could provide better surf ratio. Rated this B-.

Not recommended but worth a try

Entrecard is a traffic exchange site that guarantees visitors to your site. There have been great reviews regarding this site because it does generate instant traffic.

I signed up for this to generate traffic into my site because I needed it to apply for advertisers to accept my blog because they require great traffic. Entrecard was perfect because you just need to visit other member's site and they will also visit yours.

You would need to place a widget in your blog. In that widget, visitors will drop a button and it will be shown in your dashboard.

This site is really great if you just want traffic but of course there are other ways that are easier.

I found it tedious to visit other people's site just to generate traffic.

Good Enough to get some targeted readers

Entrecard basically is good not great. As you know already it's a website where you submit your own blog, actually just the URL of it to a database of other blogs submitted by entrecard users as well. It may seem to most like another traffic exchange network and it probably basically is. Yes you have to view other blogs in order to earn credits, so you can post your blog or mini blog URL box on other people's sites. Which means you have to visit people's blogs over and over again. This can really get old fast. I personally do not have time to keep on viewing random blogs that I may or may not have an interest in. At the beginning I thought this site was really great, it will help me get traffic or views to my own site or blog. After having to click 100 different blogs and earning 100 credits, I thought hey this is easy. Then I thought it was time to start promoting my blog. Then I found out that the best blogs with the most readers or subscribers required you to spend 1000 credits or more which is way too much, and plus you can only promote your blog on their blog for one day. There is an option to buy credits but who wants to do that? Since I felt like this I then thought other people would feel the same way to, just view my blog for a couple seconds so they can get credits thus not really interested in my website. You do get a lot of unique hits to your site, but only if you view other people's blogs at first, in my experience. It may seem great to get traffic but if you have Google Adsense on your blog it could seriously hurt your CTR ratings lowering it down if you don't get some clicks. I'm not saying that Entrecard is completely useless because it does have a great community of bloggers, but to me that's just what it is. It's just another system where people view other people's websites hoping to get long time or interested traffic. If it works for you then great, but it's not for me. I took out my site and unsubscribed from them after a couple weeks.

Yeah, but the method is outdated

I was using Entrecard a year ago with my old blog, you have to put their widget on your site, so I think it's taking too much space in my site that could be more useful for advertising purpose. And secondly, you must visit other countless Entrecard blogs and 'vote' to gain proper 'rank' or 'level' so you can get more visitors to your site. You can also buy 'credits' to get instant results, but still I think Entrecard is a little bit outdated in this web 2.0 age now (think if you have multiple blogs). So I removed the widget and am concentrating more on the latest traffic building method.

The best way to get instant traffic

I use Entrecard to get traffic to my blog. I really like this site. The way is so easy, yeah like using a traffic exchange. The member just needs to drop the button where we put the widget in our blog. But the traffic is just instant. I think it is ok, you can get hundreds of visitors just in a hour. If you want to get huge traffic why don't you join this site.

Decent traffic exchange

The whole idea of Entrecard is to be a community as well as a TE, and it succeeds at that. However, I found that the amount of traffic I generated on this site was actually pretty hard to generate, and pretty low as well. While you can exchange a lot of things in the marketplace, the 300 drops a day limit really restricts how effective this site is. All in all, definitely worth checking out.

Give you Quantity not Quality

Well, Entrecard is the fast way to drive real-traffic to your blog. You can get 300 Unique Visitors from Entrecard by just sit down for nearly one hour in front of your computer. I’m not kidding; the basic concept is like a traffic exchange program. If you visit the other Entrecard member’s blog, he/ she will visit your blog too. Although you are limited to visit only 300 times on 300 different blogs per day, you still can get much traffic from the program. But if you have tried this program for about 1 month, you will see that the traffic that Entrecard gives you is not a good targeted traffic. Most visitors will only visit to your blog for about 5 seconds to click the DROP button on your Entrecard widget and then they go (commonly known as ‘Drop and Run’). This annoying habit from the Entrecard members makes me forget Entrecard and spend my time to learn SEO in order to drive a good targeted traffic to my blog.

Perfect for newbies who need traffic

I’ve used Entrecard for around a year, and I really love it. It gets some easy traffic to your blog. People want to earn points so bad that they’ll go to your blog. If you have some interesting articles on your blog, you can easily get some attention. Whenever a visitor comes to your blog and clicks on the mailbox, both you and the visitor will get a point. You can then exchange these points for advertising space on other people’s blogs! It is really an amazing system. You can get some free advertising space for just going to other people’s blogs or getting people to visit your blog. I really love this system. It gets me around a couple hundred visitors per month to my blog. I use this on all my new blogs. The one comeback is that you need to have a blog that is at least 30 days old to register. That isn’t that hard either. This is an amazing program that will get you traffic to your blog guaranteed. The perfect traffic method for newbies.

Great for blog promotion

I've been using Entrecard for two months now and love it. It is a great way to get traffic to your site. The best feature is that you can "buy" ads. Earning credits is easy, and most of the community is honest. Basically, you visit their site, they come and visit yours. You get one credit for each site visited... being able to advertise my site is great, plus the site keeps track of which advertisements brought the most traffic to your site.

I recommend for everyone, but especially for "new" blogs.

Gives me visitors to my blogs

I love this site because they give me constant visitors to all my blog sites. You have to be persistent in dropping other members blog sites and they will drop to your blog sites back. Drop as many blog sites as you can a day to have many real visitors to your blogs. I am really happy with this because before I had fewer visitors to my blogs. It really works for me and I am really sure it will work for others as well. This site helped me find some great opportunities for earning from blogging because some blog sites I visited gave me some ideas on how and where to submit my blogsite to earn from it if you really read each blog site you visit and not just dropping.

Really liking Entrecard!

A friend told me about Entrecard, as a way to gain more blog traffic. I signed up, and found it a little confusing, at first. I did find my way around pretty quickly, though. I set up my blog, added the Entrecard widget, and waited to see what would happen. I was pleased to see that I had an extreme increase in traffic as well as ad clicks. I also like visiting all of the blogs that visit mine. I have have found some great blogs through Entrecard! I definitely recommend Entrecard!

Entrecard good exposure for new bloggers

I was new to blogging and was looking for ways to drive traffic to my blogs. I was scouting all over the net to get my blogs on the map of the net when I chance upon entrecard while reading someone's blog. I quickly took the chance to click on it, and without second thoughts signed up with entrecard. Entrecard was the first opportunity that I got to get my blog exposed to the public and am so glad that it proved it's worth, as now I am enjoying the benefits as a subscriber to entrecard. It is indeed worth signing up with entrecard, especially those who are new to blogging. Besides, I get to see others blog when I receive daily notification from entrecard that there is a new blog for me to check out. I can honestly vouch the worthiness of entrecard in solving my dilemma of getting traffic to my blogs.

Network with Entrecard

Entrecard is the first blogging community that I registered with when I started blogging. I can say that it was my main source of traffic and it is where I met other bloggers of the same interest. I was able to build my network through other entrecarders. I love the service because it is free and it also allows me to earn credits. My main problem though is that most just "drop and go" making my bounce rates high. But it is still traffic. I also get to advertise on other blogs for FREE using the entrecard credits for payment. I am glad that it's previous owner has thought of this but it is sad to note that many are leaving the system because of the new management. As for me, I will still stay with Entrecard because there are still lots of good blogs who trust in the system.

I would still recommend this service to anyone who has a blog and would like to drive traffic to their sites.

Cashout Problem!

I joined Entrecard about a year ago and during the first months EC had been in the top 5 of my traffic sources. I haven't been dropping ECs actively since the beginning, since I have a better way to earn tens of thousands of EC credits through contests, so if I were to drop more often traffic might rise more.

Recently, I noticed a decrease in EC members activity and EC no longer in my top 5 traffic sources. It isn't even in top 10! There's also a problem with the cash out system. I tried to cash out 10,000 credits, but it hasn't been completed for months now..

So, should you try Entrecard if you haven't? Do so if you have spare time, but don't count on it for the moment. If you have better alternatives, go for them instead.

Great way to get traffic, but comments and adverting maybe not

I just started Entrecard a few weeks ago, so far it's great for traffic (I get at least 15-20 hits a day), not so good for comments. And the advertising is free, so I guess it's worth the few clicks you have to do to earn it.

Here's a few things to keep in mind:

1. Yes advertising is free, but you have to work for it. And of course the more popular sites cost a lot of clicks and you won't get on for days.

2. You will get traffic but not so many comments. They encourage commenting, but I rarely get any which is ok because the visits help too, and I can see from analytics that people really read the site and visit multiple pages.

3. The inbox interface where you can see who visited you is great. You always want to return the love you get, so this makes it very easy to see who visited your site so you can visit them back. Very quickly you will grow a little following.

Based on some of the other quick click networks I've joined, this is the best. Although it takes a little work, the clicks I would say are quality visits.

Entrecard is great for new bloggers

Entrecard is a really nice tool for new bloggers who are looking to find other blogs. I first heard about Entrecard or EC through a Blog Catalog forum. I was searching for a way to get more people to my blog. The gist of EC is that you "drop" you 125X125 card on as many other blogs in the system up to 300 per blog per day.

So I started dropping. I discovered many blogs that I would never have found had it not been for EC. I read their posts and left comments and got to know some wonderful bloggers who I became friends with.

The problem with the dropping is that most people who drop are not interested in reading your posts. They get to your site, find the card widget, click on it and leave. Consequently the bounce rate of your blog is really high.

I recommend EC for new bloggers looking to find other, similar bloggers to network with. But for attracting traffic, people who really want to read your blog, it isn't the best way to go.

Just Ok. Not Good If You Want REAL Traffic!

Well, IF you are just looking for an Alexa Ranking Boost or something, then definitely go ahead and try Entrecard out but I just don't like it. Well, Here's the story:

As soon as I started my blog, I was looking for traffic. As you might know, new blogs don't just get traffic by themselves, you have to PROMOTE them. Entrecard was one of the first services I used to do that. After a few days of Entrecard, I really got in to the groove and began dropping like real pros. Some more days, and I'd left. Why? Just because the traffic you get isn't that 'traffic'. They don't care a tiny bit about your blog or what you write.

Now when you join, you may see people who regularly drop their Cards EVERY day. They are just their to EARN CREDITS! I found all this out after about just a week on EntreCard. Don't fall for it. People over there, well most of them, don't care about your blog.

So, shortly, Entrecard does not provide real, targeted visitors to your site but wastes your time a lot. You should really pursue a better marketing strategy instead!

Great Program, needs a little work though

I have heard a lot of good reviews about their program and I decided to sign up myself. The time I did, they had stopped the monetary rewards already but I did anyway. I was too eager to bring in more traffic to my blog as I was still starting off. I liked their concept and it sounded so easy. I have 3 blogs but placed their widget on only one, as the others were too personal in nature. After I signed up, I realized I couldn't keep up with the program and doing the "drops" every 24 hours to other sites was too much for my schedule. I still appreciate the site's concept, and would be up to it soon. I just find LinkReferral to be more convenient for me.

Great for new bloggers

When I was starting with my blogging career, if you may call it a career, I was very into what we call EC dropping. It is a nice way to meet and interact with fellow bloggers. I’ve learned a lot from these blogs in Entrecard, and I noticed that most of the members there are into personal blogs rather than marketing sites. So in a way, the feel is more personal and friendly rather than just clicking for the sake of gaining points.

But with all these traffic exchange sites I’ve joined, I don’t have the luxury of time to EC drop as I want to. So lately, I just see to it that I visit those sites that dropped me an EC.

Easy way to find interesting blogs

I have been writing on blogs since 2006, recently I created a blog for my personal life and parenting experiences. I had not previously used Entrecard but decided I would use it and see how things went.

So far, I've been very pleased with the experience Entrecard offers. Because this blog is still new, it's important for me to make new connections. I use Entrecard (also known as EC) to blog hop to other blogs in my category. I've found some excellent blogs to follow via this method. I also find it fun to click the drop button because I'm a bit of a compulsive button clicker.

It's not a way to make money really, but it is a good way to find other blogs and start making those contacts to build your follower base. It's also something that is fun to do while you are killing time.

EC Dropping

I’ve been hearing EC for quite a while and really got curious so I search and found Entrecard. It promised to bring in additional traffic so I joined the bandwagon.

Later on, I learned that most of the members in my favorite forums are also into EC thus whenever I visited their blog, I also dropped an EC. Two birds in one stone! Then it directs me to unfamiliar blog and tried to leave a message and a comment hoping they would visit me back.

I also make sure that whoever dropped me an EC, I returned back to their site to do so (if I haven’t done it yet). It’s easy to track my EC droppers, it is listed on my inbox page.

Around 50% of the sites/ blogs I visited returned the favor, so overall, my experience with EC is quite good. I got additional traffic and gained some loyal followers/ visitors.

Take the good with the bad

I have been a member of Entrecard for a while and have had my ups and downs with the site.

I love the concept. I enjoy visiting the various blogs and seeing what other people find interesting. I also enjoy knowing that others are taking the time to visit my blog to see what I have written about.

I don't love the fact that the site breeds a 'drop and run' mentality meaning a lot (not all) of users simply click on your Entrecard Image and rush off to the next site to do the same.

I try to drop strictly from my inbox. I have never had a one for one ratio of sites dropping on my blog that I have dropped on, so I drop solely from my inbox making sure to click on their EC badge to drop on the advertiser they are supporting for that day.

I would recommend Entrecard (and have) to other bloggers, but under the understanding that it may not always lead to the visitors reading, commenting, or clicking ads you may be displaying.

Great way to meet other bloggers

I used this site for quite a while back when today.com allowed it, before Entrecard started accepting paid ads (they've since stopped), and while it took up a lot of time, it was still a relatively easy way to drive traffic to my blogs and meet other people writing about similar things. Today removed all of the Entrecard widgets and is only maybe going to allow them back, so it's been a while since I've done anything on Entrecard, but I'm still in touch with some of the other bloggers I met. For that alone--aside from what can be a one-to-one traffic exchange or more if you use the widget--it's a worthwhile service.

Still In The Testing Proces

I joined Entrecard about a month ago in order to promote my blog. So far I have had an increase in traffic and a few conversions. I have dropped my Ecard on a lot of different blogs and have had them do the same. At this point in my testing phase I would definitely recommend it to anyone that's looking to receive a high amount of traffic that comes along with a few conversions. Entrecard is a great site as far as I can tell now.

Entrecard drops don't mean they visit your blog

I liked the idea that when you put entrecard to your blogs you can multiply visitors to your site. But it wasn't as easy as I thought. You need to establish yourself and have lots of followers to get more visitors to your blog. Just because some people regularly drop entrecard to your blog doesn't mean they visit it. You don't need to visit a blog in order an entrecard. You can do it in your entrecard account. In fact it's the only way you can drop. I have feedjit live in my blogs and I don't see people coming to my blog through entrecard. So it's actually useless.

My take on Entrecard

I am still sort of a user on Entrecard, although I have gotten really lax about dropping lately. Mainly, because I have noticed that it really does take up a lot of time to do so, and that when you do, a lot of the people that you drop on do not reciprocate.

I do, however, think that it is a worthwhile concept to find other blogs to follow and in turn hope that they will follow your blog. I have found quite a few blogs that I am now following through Entrecard.

All in all, if you are very new to blogging, it might be worthwhile, but if you have some traffic, it is probably better to do other things to promote your blog.

How to Maximize Use of Entrecard

I thought Entrecard was complicated at first. Then I learned that it was a traffic exchange service where people drop cards and receive cards in return. Of all the traffic exchange websites I have tried Entrecard was the only thing that really worked for me. All it takes is a little bit of patience for dropping 300 cards and then you will get 200 visits or more in return in a day. However, dropping your card when visiting a certain blog would not guarantee a visit in return that's why you have to choose the blogs on which you will drop your cards on. You must make sure they are active Entrecard users and will return your drop. If not then your visit is considered wasted because you did not get a visit in return.

At first, I had a huge problem with dropping 300 cards in a day. It was really time consuming and would normally take 3-4 hours. But then Entrecard released a toolbar that can open ten blogs in just one click. I also put an add-on in my Mozilla browser that will disable images so that the blogs will load faster. With that method, I could drop 300 cards in an hour or less.

The problem with Entrecard is that it will give your blog a high bounce rate. This is inevitable because people just want to drop their cards and move on to the next blog. If your website is new and doesn't have a handful of readers yet then I suggest you try Entrecard. It will really get your blog exposed to many readers. If they will stay or not will ultimately depend on your content. As long as you put some quality and interesting content to read then you won't have a problem in the long run.

Good for beginning blog traffic

Entrecard is a very volatile service, so up-to-date information can be hard to get. The founder just recently sold the company, and the new management seem to be better than the old Entrecard under Graham Langdon. However, they are changing the way the service is set up quite a bit.

Entrecard can get a new blog some significant traffic that it wouldn't have gotten otherwise. If your blog already gets traffic, Entrecard probably won't make a huge difference because EC traffic isn't very high quality. Between advertising and dropping on blogs, Entrecard might get you a few hundred extra hits a day if you're lucky, but it is very high bounce rate traffic. Some of my Entrecard visitors will comment or follow, but not many of them.

If you're not getting many hits to begin with, joining Entrecard can lead to a significant increase in traffic for your blog, but you may find that as you gain more quality traffic you will 'outgrow' Entrecard. Many users leave Entrecard because of the policy changes and then find that they no longer need it.

Pretty Much Junk Traffic

I've played around with Entrecard for a while now. I found it pretty confusing, as well as annoying to set up my account and get traffic flowing to my blog. Networking with other bloggers, entrecard is amazing. The only issue I had was 90% of the traffic entrecard was sending me was all junk-traffic. The users would stay on for a matter of seconds just to increase their entrecard credits. I'm not after junk-traffic. If I was, I'd be using auto surfing websites. I'm after targeted traffic, so this is pretty pointless. Although the entrecard traffic can help you increase your Alexa ranking, the fact is, auto surf traffic would increase your Alexa ranking more. You won't be banned by Google AdSense for junk traffic from entrecard. You will be if it's auto surf traffic. I suppose those are the only key differences between the two aside from the fact auto surf traffic is easy and entrecard traffic is a waste of time.

Confessions of a Dropaholic

When I first created my Entrecard account, I was like, "So what's in it for me?" I knew I couldn't make money from it anymore after having read that they changed their policies. But I still signed up. Lo and behold, the traffic to my site increased immensely! If it wasn't for Entrecard, I wouldn't be able to promote my site well. I highly recommend it to people who have more in mind than earning money, but also gaining traffic to their sites as well!

Get Unique Traffic from Entrecard

When I started monetizing my blog last year, a friend told me to sign up at entrecard for the purpose of getting higher traffic. And my friend was right! I have an average of 100 visitors a day because of entrecard, when I continuously drop 300 cards everyday.

Entrecard seems complicated at first. But after a while I get used to it. The dashboard is simple. I like how the menus and categories are laid at the dashboard, it is very organized. I have been studying on how to improve my page rankings and learned that I have to get not just traffic or page views but unique views (or first time visitors to my site). Entrecard, so far, gives my site 50% of it's unique views and it gives me higher izea ranking.

Downside of entrecard for a working mom like me is that it is very time consuming. Dropping 300 cards for each of my 3 blogs will eat up my time so I content myself of 50 card drops a week, just so my account with them continues.

Dropaholic?

That's what they call when you get to visit other blogs with an Entrecard widget on it. Nope, I'm not yet dropaholic. If I don't have other things to do, I might. Still, Entrecard is very beneficial to my blog in terms of adding traffic to my blog.

A blogger/reviewer friend told me about it and my blog was 3 months old that time. Entrecard requires your blog to have 10 posts or more before you can join the network so I was able to join and was approved after one day (as far as I can remember). If you're familiar with HTML codes and widgets then there's no problem.

It's better if you have a badge/button for your blog so it would be easily recognized when you start advertising it. I am not yet good with advertising, but everyday as I go through other blogs and websites, little by little I get the idea.

The concept is to visit other blogs with Entrecard widget on it and click on the "drop" box. In a day, you are entitled to clicking 300 blog widgets which earns you 1 point per drop. You also earn EC (entrecard) credits when other blogger buys ad space on your blog. These EC credits are virtual money that can also be used to buy products/services in the EC market. (Haven't tried that though).

Entrecard is very popular especially to blog contests. EC credits are part of the giveaway prizes and were highly treasured especially when they had the cashout system - 1000 credits equals to a dollar. (wasn't able to cash out though) until they changed management, so no more cashing out now.

Because of community of bloggers which I joined who are dedicated to EC dropping, I get about 60 visitors a day in my blog. That's a big help to me already.

I think Entrecard is one of the well thought advertising systems that would go a long way because they are thinking of the win/win situation for all bloggers and advertisers.

Not My Cup Of Tea

I used the Entrecard widget in one of my blogs, in hopes of getting

traffic to my site, which I did get, but it was not quality traffic. What I mean by that is there were not really many people if at all who were interested in what I had to say. What I don't like about Entrecard is that it seems that people are only interested in just dropping EC's after EC's. I personally feel that although traffic is gained by dropping the EC card, that people should also be interested in the sites they are "dropping by" at. Also you have to be prepared to spend a lot of time trying to gain traffic, that may not be the traffic you hope to receive. Wish I would have known that all people seem to do to use this service is "drop and go".

My results, I got traffic but not the kind that was truly interested in my site, if at all!

I don't find this to be very fair for those of us who are looking for quality visitors and traffic. However, if you have the time to waste and you feel you can make this one work for you, then by all means, but for me, it's not my cup of tea.

Waste of time and energy

I tried to register and use Entrecard for my blogs, thinking that I will actually benefit a lot from it based on some feedback that I have read. For the first couple of weeks, I took the time to drop but found that it just takes up a lot of my time and I still don't get much visits as I have hoped I would. I still have the widget on one of my blogs but I don't even get to drop cards anymore since I think I'm wasting my time and effort for something that just doesn't pay off as expected. I wouldn't recommend this to any of my friends because I think it would just eat up their time and energy. It's just not worth it, in my own personal opinion.

I am an entrecard member for almost a year and I can say that it's pretty good. You will earn points by dropping ECs and by gaining ECs from someone who is dropping on your card. As of now, I have 896 ecs and some say that you can sell 1000 ecs for $1. That's really cool!

You can make money by just dropping ECs! Before, they had a system that one EC will be credited on the receiver and the dropper. But now, only the dropper will receive an EC. This is because of the decreasing number of ECs coming in of their system.

This is really an awesome site!

Going, going, gone...

When I first joined Entrecard, I could just about get my head around HOW it worked. I just knew it could get me traffic, but boy did it take me a while to understand it. They had a User Guide ebook at the time which I read through. It helped, but it took reading another blogger's blog to REALLY understand it.

I joined Entrecard and got quite a bit of traffic so I'm thankful for that. I also came across some really interesting sites, some which I bookmarked and still visit 'til this day. Plus, I was able to build up my credits to advertise on top-end sites which is great.

I started feeling slightly pegged-in when Entrecard stated that widgets on blogs should be above the fold. They realized how impractical the idea was and gave members a bit more leeway by requesting that widgets shouldn't be more than 2-pages down. Then they introduced their Cashout system where you had the option of swapping your built-up credits for cash. Wasn't worth it, in my view.

In my opinion, Entrecard doesn't have as much muscle as it used to and is a shadow of it's former self. I feel it started dying a small death about 6 months back or so. Also, for some odd reason, over the past few months, I've been getting tons of irrelevant ad requests too. Never used to be like that.

I do hope Entrecard picks back up and I wish the new owners well; however, I've lost interest in it and plan on removing the widget on my blog once I've used up all my credits. The widget's become more of a dead horse than a benefit to me.

Get more traffic indeed!

If you really need traffic badly, this is the tool you need. However, if you're lazy dropping ECs, or what we call "Entrecards", you can't have that traffic you want at all. As for me, before I was active in dropping ECs before. It did help gain me traffic. It's like give and take, you drop and the person you dropped EC for drops back to yours. It's kind of tiring in a way, but worth it in the end. Plus you can make money though your points too! Lastly, you can advertise through it, which is very helpful. I tried advertising and many people sure did drop by my website. And even now that I'm not that active, from time to time I get drops or people request advertisements through my EC Widget.

Good Program If Used Strategically

I was introduced to Entrecard last November through an online friend drknlvly. She said it was a great tool to use since I had just started my blog! I found out quickly that there was a lot more to just getting traffic with this program! Trust me. It's a lot more than just dropping a card to gain traffic, there are many many blogs on the net that has very useful information that can very much take your blogging to the next level. I've come across totally basic blogs to over exaggerated ones. But what was most helpful was learning about AdSense, backlinks and advertising! Yes, I learned much of this through blogs in Entrecard.

Now it does take a little time to get it going everyday because you do have to drop your card to get people to your blog, advertising on other blogs got me a lot of exposure as well! I also experienced my computer freezing when I opened quite a few blogs, guess they had too much crap on it! Fairly recently, they announced that they wanted the widget to be moved near the top of the blog, then they deleted my account because of my Blogtalk widget that I won't get rid of. I chose my talk show over Entrecard though I did learn quite a bit from being a part of their program!

All I'm saying is, if you choose to be a part of the Entrecard program, it's ok to want the traffic, but soak up all of the knowledge you can gain from other bloggers who have been around and know how it's suppose to be done for maximum benefits!

Entrecard is an amazing way to bring traffic to your blog

I joined Entrecard about a year ago. I joined it because I wanted to get more traffic on my blog. I like this site because I have visitors on my blog almost everyday.

I also like this service of dropping our cards on other blogs because I enjoy visiting these blogs, a few which are on my favorite blog list. If you want a free way to build up your traffic, Entrecard would be it.

One thing users should know is that you have to have 5 current posts before joining.

Nice tool for traffic generating

This is one of those great tools that every blogger who wants to increase traffic needs. My goal was to increase the view count of my blog and it did just that. With the higher page views I was able to get more high paying advertisers and better position in search rankings.

The neat thing about Entrecard is they let you create a little virtual business card. When other Entrecard members visit your blog they can drop off their cards into the special Entrecard widget and earn credits (which is what the ads are paid for) and vice versa. It's a great way to discover new blogs you might like and it's a win-win situation.

Investing a significant amount of time is needed to find the right platform for gaining readers. I tried to garner a specific target to my blog and got less traffic than before. You will have to pay attention to your stats and adjust to meet whatever goals you have set for your blog. Overall though I would recommend this for anyone looking to increase page views.

Get Quality Blog Visitors

A lot of members have stopped using this site as they are not paying it's members anymore. But, I am not one of them. I believe this is one of the greatest tools to get useful visitors to your blog and surely much better than those traffic exchanges. This site has a lot of blogs and it is easy to find blogs from any niche. I had a blog on money making and finding people interested to this kind of blog was never a problem for me using Entrecard’s great searching facilities. I left a lot of comments in blogs related to my blog niche and that was how I earned a lot of backlinks to my blog. This helped me to get a better Google page rank.

I had been paid twice by this site when they used to allow conversion of credits (Credits were earned by visiting other blogs) to cash. These days I use those credits to get visitors to my blog. The technical team in this site is really great and response to your question is given within 24 hours.

Takes time but worth it

Well I have gotten a significantly high number of traffic for my blog and this is good but it took me a while to get there. This site takes time and patience. If you have time on your hands this is for you. Another problem is people don't take time to read the blogs. They just click and go which I find to be a major problem but for those of you that want a lot of traffic this is for you.

Good traffic builder

I am an EC user for almost a year now. When I started my blog and people are talking about card dropping and EC widget, I got curious and signed up at the site. I had a hard time figuring out the dashboard but after a while of familiarizing myself, I am OK with it.

The dropping of card is how the system gives traffic to a site. The first few dropping stints I had, it was not really helping my site. Then I came across a system that makes easier dropping. The site owner gathers 300 users of the site and group it into 10. A little box represents each group. All you need to do is to click a box and 10 tabs will appear. Each site on the box has a widget and all you need to do is click on it. I asked the owner to include me on the list and from then on I got a lot of traffic coming from droppers.

The site is a good traffic builder but there is a catch. You will gain traffic but there is no assurance that you will gain readers too. A lot of users just want to drop and then run, and they won't even notice your articles.

So if you are more concerned on readership, this one is not for you. If you want traffic then I suggest you start dropping now.

Great if you use it to network

The beauty of this site is often missed. Getting credits and advertising on other blogs is only the beginning, and not where you get your true traffic from. EntreCard gives you the opportunity to read other blogs in your specific niche. If you use this to leave thoughtful comments, and share ideas with the blog owners you encounter, this can lead to backlinks to your own blog, and finding out tips that you would have never known about otherwise. Friending these bloggers and finding out where they network can raise you above the rest who are just there for the view, and will get your visitor counter turning.

So if this site is used correctly and in it's entirety, it really can boost your visitors and eventually, your page ranking as well.

Marketers, Are You Ready For The Truth?

Why drop an EC?

Entrecard is a revolutionary concept of traffic exchange and advertising rolled into one. And it does what it ought to be, bring traffic to your site. The downside of this concept however, is a relatively high bounce rate. Most of the members are just concerned about how many EC's they were able to drop and how many they have gained. What seems to be lacking is member education on what the EC's are really for. It seems that dropping has been misinterpreted as a sign of visiting the site only. What I believe is that drops are made as a sign of appreciation to the site owner's good content, that is of course possible only if you read it and not just drop and run. If this could be resolved, EntreCard will surely have a very big impact on the overall blogging community. As one of the members, that is what I've been waiting for and I'm sure many other members do too.

Got a lot of traffic but no conversions..

I was a big entrecard user when I first started looking for ways to promote my blog and get traffic. I found that I was able to get a good deal of traffic, but often it was only by other entrecard users eho weren't really interested in anything I had to say or promote on my blog. They were only interested in "dropping" on my site in order to benefit themselves and get more credits on entrecard.

Needless to say, after I kept researching on new ways to get quality traffic to my blog.. and started spending a lot of time doing SEO and SEM, I completely stopped using entrecard.

I wouldn't recommend this site to anyone that's looking for quality traffic and signups.

Entrecard User No More

I used to have an Entrecard widget in all my blogs, but not anymore. Not only does it take a huge amount of time if you want to have a decent enough traffic coming from the system, I also had the problem of people staying at my site for just a couple of seconds, in order to only drop their EC cards. I want targeted traffic, people that read my blog and not just scan it for where I put my Entrecard widget so they can do their duties and hop to another blog to do the same. The whole "dropping" thing just don't work for me. It used to be a fun task, dropping my Entrecard to sites while reading their contents but honestly, it's just too time-consuming for someone like me who constantly needs to multi-task.

If you wanted to just up your Alexa or RealRank, I would definitely recommend using Entrecard, but if you want real people reading your contents with interest, drop it like a hot potato and go look somewhere else for the type of traffic that you want. That's what I did, and I've never missed NOT having the Entrecard widget on my sidebars.

A Good Site If You Have the Time

Since 2007, I have been an active member of Entrecard. I am a witness to many changes in the Entrecard system. Just recently, it has been bought by another company, ZipRunner, Inc from the original owner.

Let me enumerate the benefits you'd get from Entrecard as a blogger.

This site can help you gain considerable traffic if you are an active member. You'd be able to network with active bloggers in the system. You'd be amazed at how many blogs are joining the system everyday. There's a niche for everyone. Based from my observations, there's a lot of personal blogs in the system .

However, in order to have success with Entrecard, you must really take the time to drop on other blogs daily. The maximum is 300 drops per blog per day. This can be really time consuming. A lot of bloggers publish their monthly top droppers. Hence, it's a good way to earn backlinks, which can help increase your Page Rank. Other ways to earn credits is through available tasks in the Entrecard Marketplace. Some bloggers use their credits to sponsor a contest.

However, if you are looking to make money through Entrecard, this is no longer possible. A few months ago, a member can exchange their credits for cash. I was able to earn $10. However, the credit cashout program has been eliminated last July. I use my credits to advertise on other blogs which is a good way to earn traffic.
