GetACoder Description

GetACoder is a job outsourcing site that brings together internet freelancers and the people who need their services. The program works with people who provide such services as website content and marketing articles, website development and design, and script and software programming. Buyers can post the projects that they need completed and freelancers can bid on these projects.

GetACoder Detailed Overview

One problem that a lot of internet marketers and online business people have is finding the right outsourcing for their website development and marketing projects. Though there are a lot of freelancers online who are looking for work, it can often be difficult to determine which ones would be best for your particular outsourcing needs. GetACoder is a service that brings together those who need to outsource tasks and those who can do the tasks, and it does so in a way that makes the process easier for everyone.

When freelancers join GetACoder, they provide information in their membership profiles that can help buyers determine whether or not they would be right for certain tasks. They lists their areas of expertise and their experience, and when they bid for projects, buyers can see this information, which helps them make their decisions. Buyers also see right away what it would cost to hire a certain freelancer, since it is a bidding process. Buyers leave feedback about the work that participating freelancers do for them, and this feedback is also available for scrutiny.

Buyers and freelancers can sign up with GetACoder for free, and buyers only pay what freelancers charge–nothing more. Freelancers pay a commission to the service for every job that they complete. For this, they get guaranteed payment for the projects they complete, since payment is put into a special escrow account as soon as an agreement is reached between a buyer and a freelancer for a project. Freelancers are charged either a 10% fee plus an extra $5 for each project, or just the 10% fee is they are paying premium members of the service. Premium member freelancers pay $7.95 per month and get more exposure than non-paying members.

Effective Customer Service

After reading the last comment, I felt compelled to write my own.

I post jobs on GetACoder quite regularly and I don’t have much to complain about the talents I’ve found there. I usually get good quality work at a fair price.

A couple of years ago, though, I hired a writer through GetACoder who promised the world, but delivered nothing. So, the whole experience turned into a nightmare.

I reported the situation to GetACoder and although it took them longer than expected to decide who was right, they did help me get my money back. And for that I’m grateful to GetACoder.

In my opinion, GAC’s dispute resolution procedures are effective, but they shouldn’t take so long to make a decision.

Waste of money

I attempted to have a website built and was given various quotes ranging from $200 - $1000. I chose a middle ground one CWStudio because I was impressed with some "previously completed websites" and told it could be built in 2 weeks. Over 1 year later, and the website was no where near completed and CW Studio seemed incapable of doing any work without me holding their hand (even though they had a wireframe of exactly what to do + very specific yet simple instructions). CW studio decided they had had enough and asked to terminate the project and requested 75% payment. To cover the fact that the website was no where near completed, they took it down.

So off we went to mediation by Getadcoder where their team sided with CW and pressured me into making an offer of payment (even though the website was not completed to a remotely usable level AND it had been removed so I don't know by what basis they were using to verify that any work had been done).

In the end, I paid 25% of the original price for absolutely nothing. I felt very let down by Getacoder and would never consider using their service again.

Competition is tight

I have been a member of GetACoder site since 2009. I do not use it often because I gave up when I tried bidding on projects without success. I love their newsletter and I have to read it as soon as it's ready. It has useful Freelancing tips. Each story leads to their blog, which I like a lot. One day I hope I will win a project and send a bunch of referrals. I believe the site is good.

Fair service

This is a fair service, I like it's competitor more for various reasons but you can find what you need there.

The prices are low to the market but the gui and the level of providers and buyers is low.

I have been doing projects for a couple of years now and I can say once again that this is not my favorite service but it is a service I use every now and then.

Bad ones to get to the good ones

I outsource a lot of my article writing on GetAcoder and it is definitely worth it. I usually pay $2-$3 for a well written article which once submitted to GoArticles gets me indexed fairly quickly. I have come across all types of writers on GetAcoder, and I will admit that I always have to go through some very bad writers before finding a good one. Some writers don’t even speak English they just pretty much translate their articles. There are even lazy writers who just spin content but I do always find a great writer, so it is all worth it.

The Truth Hurts

Have To Keep My Eyes Open For Scammers

I offer my Ecover design services on GetAcoder, and I have been successfully doing so for over 4 months. I make my Ecovers with an ecover software and it usually takes me 20-30 minutes to make an ecover. I do not like to use the images that come with the software, I actually prefer to use my own to make my ecovers unique. I sell my ecovers for $25 and I ask for payment up front. I know that there are some scammers on GetACoder, especially those who have asked me for the design before paying. I have never been scammed because I never email the Ecover before payment has been confirmed.

Craigslist Posting Service

I used to advertise my craigslist posting services on GetACoder, but I do not do so anymore. GetACoder was great two years ago but now it is full of scammers. I do not ask for payment up front, I usually ask for payment during the second day of posting or designing ads, so that the customers can see the results of my service. I took on this craigslist posting job and I posted over 60 ads in the real state section of craigslist for the customer. The next day he was no where to be found and I never heard from him again. He scammed me and this led me to never go back to GetAcoder.

My G Trends Bot

I have used GetACoder many times, just like I have used all other Freelance sites. I always post the same jobs on about 5 freelance sites so that I can find someone for the project fast and for the best price. Last job I had done on GetACoder was an autobot project; it was a Google trends software to be exact. I needed a software that would send the Google trends as a text message to my phone every hour and that it would email me the Google trends every hour as well. I found someone to do this for me within 12 hours and she finished the project in a week. I paid her $275 for the Google Trends Bot and I think that it was a really good investment.

Low Cost, High Quality Service

If you are a normal user and want professionals to do some small technical tasks for you, then you should use GetACoder. I use the service to find coders to write MS Excel programs for me. They can usually get the jobs done in less then 15 minutes, and they only cost me $1 for each program. This is very amazing. It saves me a lot of time and in a minimum cost. You can offer many different tasks in GetACoder. Be it website design, logo design, script coding, program coding, you can always find a right person to do the job for you there. To sum up, you can easily find the right person to do different task for you at a reasonable price. It is really a great service.

Has it's pros and cons

I've joined this site recently as I was looking for a site to do freelancing, as one of my friends was in need of some quick cash. Well, I was doing some research on this site and joined as a free member. I skimmed through their list of jobs and I was really impressed on how many jobs were available, but after actually reading the agreements, I didn’t really like the low payments. Some jobs were worthwhile, but usually they were very cheap and adding to that there were even some bidders offering 1$ per article. So, I do think that if you are looking to hire someone for cheap, this place could help you out, but mind you, I think you are going to get minimum quality for those jobs. For coders, it is a good place to start as the pay is much higher there. Still, as my topic says it has it's pros and cons, I still think this is worthwhile for those looking for cheap work rather than for those looking for jobs that are worth your time.

Cheap Services

I use GetACoder when ever I need some really cheap content; I have found many talented writers on there. Last week I posted a big article project, I needed 50 articles done in 3 days and I was willing to pay $3 per article. I got a great writer within a day and he wrote all of the articles and delivered them within the time line. There were no grammar mistakes and I have all of the content I paid for on my sites. I will always use GetACoder to buy cheap articles as well as for other cheap services.

Cheap Work

I use GetACoder whenever I need a new software or micro created. A couple of weeks ago I used it to hire someone to make me my own FaceBook account creator. I hired someone 3 days after posting the project and I paid $300 for the software. I use the FB account creator everyday and it is automated which is the best part about it. I have used GeACoder for other things like buying SEO content and getting CL PVAS made. Overall I always find some really great freelancers on GetACoder that are willing to work for a reasonable price.

Fast Working Freelancers!

I have been using GetACoder for the last few months; I always use them for when I need a new script or micro created. There are some really great freelancers on GetACoder and not many scammers that run with your money like in many other freelancing sites. I always use someone I have worked with before because I know that they are capable of completing the job I need done.

The latest project I’ve paid for on GetACoder is a script that changes my IP address. I had this done two weeks ago and it was done in 24 hours. I paid $150 for it and it was well worth it because it helped me automate a few methods. GetACoder is the place to go if you need some reliable fast working freelancers.

Good freelance site

Like GetAFreelancer, this site provides a great platform for talented individuals to make some money. It is hard however, to get started. Buyers usually only accept bids from users with good reviews so it might be a while before you get a job or you might not even get one at all (like me). But if you're feeling lucky this is a great site to put your coding skills to work and make some extra money.

Worst Freelance Website EVER!

Getacoder is a freelance website with projects around mainly programming and design. I registered at Getacoder some years ago and earned around $1000 in a year. One day, out of the blue my account was suspended! WHY? Honestly I don't know. They provided NO info about this situation and moreover kept around $230 in my "frozen" account. I had more than 18 perfect reviews there! They stated an irregular situation was found and provided no help. Be aware of Getacoder. As this review states, they provide no information about their location and the Whois has been private for years... they definitely have something to hide. The site has some crazy rules and you even pay fees for mistakes you make. They take $30 off your account if you mention something like an email from a previous client in order to give references. Moreover, the website is full of mistakes and typos, so I believe these people are not English natives. The support team is awful and take weeks to reply to a simple question. Also, to collect your money you have to wait 30 days! If you want to collect it sooner you must buy a golden membership... how bad is this?? I recently became aware that an online friend of mine had the same situation there. This website is so suspicious. 2 years passed and they retain $230 of my hard earned money. If anyone experienced the same please let the world know. Getacoder should definitely be kept at distance because they change the rules and steal your money.

Good way to find a job or hire somebody

Some time ago I was both looking for a coder (someone more experienced than me) to code some stuff for my website and I was also looking for some job opportunities. I found this site and I must say I was impressed by how fast people answered your questions and applied to do the jobs. I also found a lot of work for myself in a short amount of time. Awesome site for both the coders and the people who need them.

Quite good for job resource

I am into data entry, and I have joined several different sites that offer jobs for freelancers like me. I joined Get A Coder recently, and I have no complaints about the site. First, the site is very easy to navigate. Everything I needed to know was right there. And Get A Coder even provides a free e-book for buyers and coders which is a great freebie because there are so many tips that one can learn from it. There's pretty much a lot of competition in Get A Coder, mostly those from India who are offering really low bids. But then again, I was able to land a job. Just one since I joined, but this is a great start since it was an easy data entry job that required minimal hours. The feedback system is great because there's feedback for both buyer and coder so it's fair for both parties. I only bid on jobs for buyers with positive feedback to be assured of payment. Overall, I would say this is a pretty good site to look for jobs.

Freelancer provided precisely what I needed

I have used this site for many occasions. I have hired someone to help in setting up a custom "score keeper" for an on line pc game to integrate into a squad website that would display rankings, kills, head shots and a couple other stats. I later used GetACoder to build a couple websites when I had to much on my plate and not enough work to bring on another employee. If what you need done to your website can be done, you will probably find it cheaper to hire a coder from this site than a local programmer because of the bidding.
