LinkShare Description

LinkShare is an affiliate network that offers commissions on primarily Cost Per Sale (CPS) transactions. The company was founded in 1996, and today boasts the largest affiliate membership of any major affiliate network. The company specializes in working with well-known, household brands and has focused on this strategy since the very beginning.

LinkShare Detailed Overview

If you have spent any time in affiliate marketing recently, it seems as though there is a new advertising network popping up almost daily. With so many networks around these days, how do you choose the right one? Well, it's probably a good idea to stick with the companies that have been around for a long time. One of the most venerable and well-known is LinkShare. LinkShare has been widely used by affiliate marketers since its early days in 1996, and today is easily one of the largest affiliate networks in the world. If you are doing any marketing on the Internet and are not already a member of LinkShare, then this short review of the Company may be something of interest to you.

What is LinkShare and what are the benefits of joining?

As stated above, the most obvious benefit of LinkShare is its longevity and staying power. If you plan on setting up and running a profitable Internet marketing business, then you want to make sure that you partner with companies that will be around for a long time. Getting started with LinkShare is very easy. All you have to do is apply to the network, and then if you are accepted, you can begin promoting their products right away.

LinkShare offers a wide variety of benefits to their affiliate partners, including things like:

  • First-class merchants - Since its very beginning, LinkShare has been focused on partnering with only the most well-known brands in the world such as Apple, Dell and Wal-Mart. As a member of LinkShare’s affiliate network, you have the ability to promote products from any one of these household names. This can lend a tremendous amount of credibility to your website simply by offering products from these well-known merchants.
  • Exceptional tracking capabilities - One of the most important things that you can do as an affiliate marketer is make sure that you have accurate tracking capabilities. LinkShare provides you the tools you need so that your tracking is accurate and timely.
  • On-time payments - LinkShare prides itself on making sure that its affiliates are always paid on time.
  • “Deep Linking” capability - One of the most frustrating things that can happen to you as an affiliate marketer is doing a great job of “pre-selling” the customer on a product or service only to have them click on a link for the merchant which takes them to something like the homepage. Usually, these pages are filled with distractions and cause conversions to drop. LinkShare gives you the ability to directly link to a specific page on a merchant's website which can greatly increase the odds that a sale will occur.

In closing, there are many factors that are involved in successful affiliate marketing, but working with the right affiliate network is always important. If you have not yet joined LinkShare, you may want to consider it based on the information in our review here today.

Linkshare Is A Big Scam

Hello Linkshare

Now before I report you guys to BBB, I would like you to read what I have to told them, and see

if you really wanna bully me off my earnings. the report is below.

"This company is actually doing more harm than good to it's affiliates and merchants and i'll explain in the coming lines.

Keep in mind, there are literally thousands of terminated affiliates and I would explain why linkshare keeps banning endlessly.

Till date I have personally generated over $190,000 and my fellow affiliates have done more than $100,000, 000 in sales volume for companies like walmart and best buy, that linkshare has banned without payment.

Linkshare waits until these kinds of large funds have been generated and then they kick these affiliates out and keep the money for themselves.

They then recruit more affiliates and repeat the same process over and over again, I know this because it has happened to me and 1000 other affiliates like me. You can google, --linkshare account termination-- to see the egregious reputation they have.

These are the steps they use to scam mostly affiliates and merchants.

the site is owned by rakuten linkshare, now

what they do is they mass install a virus program on millions upon millions of computers online called one cause toolbar.

Next thing is, anytime real affiliates and 100's of other top affiliates make sales through search ads and normal advertising, the virus they have on these systems changes the referrer to onecause.com and they basically steal this commission in the name of "Good/Charity Donation".

BBB please check this issue and do your investigation, merchants should literally run away from a company like this, I am ready to answer any question you guys have about this unscrupulous company.

Furthermore, Rakuten Linkshare sees the life blood of their business, which are affiliates, with utter contempt. Can you imagine that some merchants on linkshare do not pay their affiliates. Some affiliates have been waiting for payment for over one year, some couple of months, some several years e. t. c All linkshare says is "we cannot process payments unless these merchants pays us". Although, this is bad business practice, but why would you still keep these merchants in their system? what is the reason? monetary gain?

Their so called reputation? what?

On the other hand, they terminate affiliates at will, saying, "we can terminate affiliates anytime without reason" after stealing their commission i. e like they did to me. The SEC and FBI should look into some of linkshare's terms and policies as lots of them are illegal.

I really do not know how these huge scam has survived for a very long time, People are just talking both no one seems to be taking serious action.

Myself and other scammed affiliates plan to report them to the appropriate authorities.

I Hope you take this information seriously and look into it.

Good Affiliate Network

I am LinkShare member from 6 months. I didn't find it that good compared to other networks. But ya, I did profit a lot from Linkshare. I own 5 websites and 10 blogs. For each quality post I make, I get commissions from Linkshare. This site has paid me on time so I have no complaints. Since this is Cost Per Sale network, the risk of sales is also there. So if you are starting your business, Linkshare is a good start. But as you grow more ahead, its better to skip this network as this has not very high potential. Overall I like this network and it is trustworthy.

Never Made One Cent!

I honestly try to deal with this site again and again but I always come up with the same result: LAME. I have been a Linkshare member for OVER 3 years and I never made one cent from them. Not even ONE cent. I have their affiliate links for products all over my sites (about 10 sites) which range from food to technology to video games and more.

I write 1-3 posts every single day and I make sure it's quality content (I also own an IM and creation company so quality content IS something we are doing). On one website of mine I get over 5,000 unique visits a month - no money being made. On another site, I have over 1,000 unique visits every month - no money being made.

I always thought it was just me, but honestly, come on. Not even a cent? Thousands of people are clicking the products and yet... no money in Kristi's pocket.

Been with Linkshare for 3 months - fully explored it's capabilities

I've been with Linkshare for 3 months with my one website, here's a comprehensive rundown:

My site was pretty new, yet they approved it. You must select a primary category that your site belongs to (optional secondary category, and tertiary category). I chose the Shopping category. You can choose others. Once they approve your website (mine for example is partygearz) you can start applying to "new advertisers" or "prime advertisers".

The Good:

*You can advertise goods from hundreds (if not a thousand) companies:

I am affiliated with 30 (Wal-Mart, Electronic Arts/Origin, Buy.com, Barnes & Noble.com, etc. ).

*Clicks, impressions, and sales are tracked per company

*One or two clicks and you can apply to be approved (or denied)by many companies

*They have an internal message system where your advertisers send you messages about promos and coupon codes (although some advertisers will send you messages everyday)

*They have banners galore to choose from for each company

*They have a product link finder (I recommend you click once to get the product link popup, AND RIGHT CLICK the product image). You can then paste this into your website editor (and it should grab the link).

*Advertisers tell you upfront their commission structure

The Bad:

I haven't received my first check yet. It says the first physical check will be mailed to you, and then you will have the option of direct deposit. It's possible the first check is delayed one month and that my first month I didn't make enough from the website (I set the threshold too high). Since then, I have set the threshold all the way down to the minimum.

*I have had commissions of $21 this month so I will post back here to see if they actually mail me a check and when.

*It takes a little getting used to the Linkshare interface, but again, your best bet is a product link using their product link finder, click it once to make sure it goes straight to the product, and then leave it on your site. It helps to apply to many advertisers so that you have a full spectrum of goods you can advertise that you like and are comfortable "selling".

One of the good affiliate networks

Linkshare is a company located in USA, there are many companies use linkshare and sell their product with linkshare. Very easy to join linkshare, we can choose the company that we want to promote their product and we can get commission from the sale. Each company gives different commissions. At linkshare I was a publisher, the important thing is we must have our own website to promote the product of linkshare.

At this time at least I get $1- $2 a day, not much but not bad.

I am a linkshare lifer

Great link provider. Only had two problems with one of their car rental merchants and do not know why to this day.

Other than that, I highly recommend Linkshare. It is way better than CJ and pays you a small minimum payout which helps us little affiliate persons at times of need.

High Quality Publishers

Though I have not spent as much time with the website, I will say that I do get consistent sales monthly. I choose up to 3 brands to promote on my blogs or websites or I make changes to my preferences depending on how they are selling during the quarter. Sometimes I would like to embed my banners from linkshare to a clickbank marketplace website to generate more results. Sometimes you have to do a little trial and error in order for affiliate programs like Linkshare and Clickbank to work and that is what it took for me. However with brands that people actually use I would recommend Linkshare.

Worst Performing

Have been a member of the 'Big 4' affiliate networks for years and this has been by far the worst performing one for me.

I barely promote their merchants anymore, so it's kind of a self fulfilling prophecy of sorts.

Their interface is buggy, it has lots of 'features' that don't work or categories that are empty. Merchants feature coupons that expired years ago.

There was one merchant I made steady sales with, they closed their affiliate program a few months ago.

A ton of effort put in and nothing to show for it

I have been using Linkshare for three of my client's sites as well as a few of my personal sites over the past year. While it is a good program, with a lot of top-notch advertisers, very good communication and a fine set of advertising and reporting tools, I have not been able to make any sort of money from it. These are sites covering all sorts of different niches, traffic patterns and demographics. From beauty to fashion to entertainment to politics.

One of these client sites has generated over 2 million ad impressions, over 2,500 click-thrus and whopping total of just TWO sales in all of that time. The other sites have generated nothing at all. This is in spite of the fact that the ads displayed are updated constantly, sometimes daily, most of them are sales, coupon and other incentive ads and the site runs both text and image ads. Needless to say, this has been very frustrating, as all I all gotten out of tens, if not a hundred hours worth of work, is generating a ton of free advertising for Linkshare's clients while not yet earning a penny in payouts over that time. On the other hand, that same site earns hundreds per month via AdSense with almost no effort on my part.

I do not know if there is something I am doing wrong, (I had the same experience with Commission Junction, but at least Linkshare does not steal money from your sales like CJ does) but I am ready to dump Linkshare and go with something else. Why should I give their advertisers free space on my site when there is something undoubtedly better and more profitable out there? And this is assuming that they are not just pocketing the sales and not paying out a commission to their publishers. I hate to make any sort of accusations, but it has crossed my mind.

Would I recommend them? Maybe for a very highly niched site, but otherwise, probably not.

Accepted the first time I applied:

Linkshare has been very pleasant and profitable. The feature that combines all the revenue across multiple sponsors is very convenient.

For me, the first time I applied I was accepted. At that time I only had one content juicy niche blog that catered to an enthusiast audience, which I believe is the reason why they accepted such a small publisher.

Traffic was nothing amazing, however it was consistent.

Since being accepted, I've added a few banners and links to my other sites and found that most of my revenue came from referring other publishers. Their communication times when you contact them is fast, which is always a good thing. Overall I have been a member for a couple of months and plan on sticking with them as my primary Affiliate network.

Great system and I do recommend them to anyone that is looking for a trustworthy and serious affiliate broker. A+ from me.

Linkshare's for the more experienced

I've made a decent amount with Linkshare. I've been with the network for about 2 years and when I first signed up, I'll admit that I was a bit upset. None of my websites were up to criteria at the time and I could not advertise for them. I didn't log back into the site for almost a year or so but was still getting emails and still very much interested. Why? Because their advertisers are definitely top-notch. So, a few months ago, I decided to give Linkshare another shot because I was more experienced in the game and my traffic was definitely up to par. I was excepted the next afternoon and all has been well since. I'd definitely recommend Linkshare, but only if you've already experienced other affiliate networks like MB or CPALead.

After months of trying I got accepted

Wow! what to say about LinkShare.

When I first signed up on LinkShare I had a total of 5 websites, not realizing at first that you had to be accepted I put forward all 5 sites. Not one got accepted because I didn't generate enough legit traffic, since all my traffic was through T. E.

After a year and a whole new re-designed website I finally got accepted into LinkShare and since then my profits have only ever gone up. Had to put a lot of work into a decent site that generated pure traffic where people where interested in what I wrote about. The great thing about LinkShare is it's low payout rate, $1.

The only downside I found with LinkShare is that all the ads on my site slow it down a bit and cause some readers trouble getting into the site sometimes. Apart from that, if you put enough effort into your website and get heaps of pure traffic, you should definitely sign up on LinkShare.

Got Lots of Premium Merchants

Since I started on my affiliate marketing venture, I was able to land on Linkshare by accident. I was looking for a good product that can be promoted using my niche and keywords and Linkshare came out on Google as I look for it. When I started using the site, I found it very easy to get links and promotion tools unlike other affiliate networks.

They also have a training area for new affiliates so you can be sure that you can get the best results for your campaigns. I was able to get my first commission 5 days after I used it on Squidoo. It felt great and the commission check is on time.

What I like most is that the tracking of your campaigns are real time so you can adjust your campaigns and settings for your promotion to meet your needs perfectly.

I highly recommend every affiliate marketer to use Linkshare.

Not recommended for multi- website owners

I went into this website thinking that my websites were justly professional and proven sites so I thought to apply to Apple and other illustrious sites to seek their approval. Well, I didn't read into LinkShare's policy of having to go through the process of validating all three websites which meant all of my websites would have to be proven web traffic generating sites. Unfortunately for me, I had one site that was only one year old and hadn't acclaimed the consummate design and content that the other two possessed. I was rejected by all of the affiliate programs I wanted to link with and wasted my money and time. It might have worked if I'd had only two websites. I would only recommend LinkShare for single website owners who have consummated sites.

Linkshare is a great program!

Linkshare is a great affiliate network. They have tons of free signups to hot niches like dating sites, free cell phone offers, ringtone offers and more. They accepted my application easily and their sales tracking is accurate. I have never had a problem with my stats. I have been able to make money with them without a website and payment is always on time. The site could be a little more attractive, but I recommend them.

Great Network and Pays On Time

Linkshare is the only network around that you can utilize so I focused more on them in my campaigns. In my first campaign using squidoo, I was able to track my results at real time through the members area. Their tracking is superb and you can always see the results of your work in no time, for you to decide on the effectiveness of your work.

On the other hand, what I like most is that they always pay on time. There is a vast number of advertisers to choose from. Some large legitimate companies like Apple and HP entrust their sales with Linkshare so why wouldn't I?

Overall, this is a good network to deal with and you can have 100% support because they want everyone to succeed.

Great Site all around

After using this affiliate program for only 6 months I can only Grade it as "Awesome" !

I have made over $3000 from running ads on my website, but... I had my website going for over 2 years now and I am getting around 50000 visitors every day, which converts to $30 a day from several different affiliate programs. This is my #2 affiliate program in terms of how much money I have made.

Remember, if you want to be approved, you must have a nice built website that looks finished with all pages working. Also you need real, not an "artificial" Paid to click/surf/read traffic. When they check your website they will take a look at Alexa rating and also where your users coming from. If you get at least 50% of US/CA/UK traffic you will get approved almost instantly. My website was approved within 2 hours.

Mixed feelings

I have very mixed feelings about LinkShare. It's my worst performing affiliate program.

For months and months after the conversion to the new site, I had problems getting in. That isn't true any longer, but the approval process is painful. If you have more than one site, you have to re-register with each advertiser for each one of your sites. Ugh!

In addition to that, I find that the deep link builder often doesn't work.

Because of the problems I've had with LS, I try to find an advertiser that uses a different service when possible.

Snag in using LinkShare

I joined LinkShare awhile back after seeing that Netflix uses LinkShare for their affiliate program. I was really excited because I love Netflix think they have a great product and it is one that I would be proud to advertise. I signed up to them in a process that went pretty smoothly. Here comes the snag, it is easy to sign up with LinkShare, but it is harder to get approved to be an affiliate marketer for the websites that are affiliated with LinkShare.

Many of the really good affiliate marketers like Netflix that pay around $16 for each person that signs up have criteria for the site that you will be posting a link to their affiliate product. Take Netflix for example they required that you have at least six months of established and proven traffic on your web page before they would even approve you for their affiliate marketing program.

There were only two or three affiliates that I knew of on this site that I was interested in advertising their links. I applied to each of these individually, a process that does take a little bit of time, and was not approved by any of them. The main part that I disliked was that these affiliate programs do not tell you their criteria before you apply. It works pretty much this way, you look for a brand/product you want to advertise. Click to get the link; then you are told you have to apply. Then, you wait for an email to tell you if you are approved or not approved. I dislike this because if I knew I did not meet the criteria they were looking for I would not have applied.

I still get periodic emails from this site. Sometimes I keep them in my mailbox for a few days thinking I'll check out LinkShare again; however, I never actually do go back to this site. Perhaps some day I might try to reapply for Netflix because they were the best of the bunch, but online if I do not have another money making offers to do online at that moment.

Awesome Network

Linkshare is an awesome network. I have been member in this network since 3 years. They have great customer service. They have huge offers to promote. The advantage of this network is they have USA, UK, Canada Offers. So affiliates can select the appropriate network type to promote. Also they pay to the affiliates promptly.

It would be good for this network if they had PAYPAL as one of the payment options for affiliates. As many affiliates like to receive their payments by PAYPAL, it will be advantage for linkshare if they pay by PAYPAL too. I have received the payments by Check from the LINKSHARE Network.

Most of the offers in this network are SALE type. They have huge offers to promote in different categories.

Really good affilate network

I tried LinkShare a couple of months back and can say that this is one of the decent affiliate networks out there. I did well at first and as the weeks went I started getting even better. I was very satisfied with my results at the end of the first month. A very big plus of LinkShare is that their payout is super low (only $1) but that shouldn't be a problem if you have the experience and luck to make many sales. Overall I am very satisfied by the services provided by this network. I made good money from their products and you can too with a bit of experience. It deserves a good B+.

No Luck, or Just My Bad Luck

I tried LinkShare for about six months before I stopped trying. Yes, I did get clicks, and order impressions, but I just could not get any sales. My experience was 50/50 even with no sales. Maybe it has to do with the content of your website or what you are trying to sell. With LinkShare I could see the traffic coming in, but the problem was most visitors were only staying on one page for roughly ten seconds.

Sign up was simple, and I still get an occasional email from them, but at least they don’t spam your inbox like others have in the past. Give it a shot if you wish, but from my experience I had little success.

Great Commision, But 1 Problem

I have been using Linkshare for 3 months now, and all in all they are a great network. They have a huge variety of advertisers and pay a good amount of commission per sale. One downside is that they slow down my web page a lot! It may be my web host, but since I have started using Linkshare, my site's speed has dropped, which may have drove away some potential customers. It's not a really big problem, but it may cause a small decrease in traffic. Lastly, the greatest thing about Linkshare is their $1 minimum payout, which is unbelievably easy to reach if you have good traffic.

Really worth it!

It was a great tool to promote my website and the service I had to offer. I got a lot of partnerships with other affiliate programs which I thought was the greatest thing about it. I was able send ‘external’ emails directly to my affiliates. I loved LinkShare’s member-get-a-member. I had the power to pick what type of reward I wanted to offer. Not only that, but how much as well. The manual was also very easy and gave us step to step on how to set up the communication with other affiliates. I spent a lot of money on this program, but I would not regret it because it showed me amazing results. I suggest this website to people who have affiliate sales potential.

Very helpful advertising site

I joined link share five months ago. It was very easy to sign up. Over the last four months or so I have been getting a lot more activity on my blog, and my sales have dramatically increased. I liked how easy it was to do, and could not be happier with the results. If you are looking for a way increase your sales, and get more views, at the same time than I sign up for linkshare. It doesn't work for everyone, but it never hurts to try, and you might just be surprised by the results. I know that I was.

Has not produced results for me

I joined LinkShare about seven months ago hoping to not only gain more traffic to one of my blogs but generate an additional income. First, I do like how easy it was to get signed up and beginning advertising some of the ads I had chosed. I had chose Wirefly and iTunes thinking this is what most people would want. The ads looked pretty good on my blog and I did not run into any problems with the way my blog functioned once the ads were in place.

I did received lots of traffic to my blog and I did receive a lot of clicks on the ads themselves. Where my problem arose is that after all this time, I have yet to have one sale. I know others are having some success, but I find this a little hard to believe. I cannot believe that after seven months not one sale was generated from these ads. I guess I will know though as my account still sits at zero.

I even tried to change the ads to different ones and I still only received the clicks but no sales. I am not really happy with this site and it has shown absolutely no results when it comes to me. I would have to say that it is a free program to join which is a good thing. I, myself, don't see how anyone generates any sales. They have a great client list which is impressive to say the least.

I give this site a C as it is just average for me. While it did produce traffic to my blog and I did get clicks on the ads, I had no sales. Maybe someone else would have better luck.

I Love LinkShare!

I started with LinkShare about 3 months ago. I was only interested in their Wirefly program at the time because well, who doesn't want a cell phone... especially a free one. They provided me with great marketing tools and also keep me updated on what's happening in the program. They pay and the best part is they pay on time. There's no waiting around wondering when your check is going to come. It's like clockwork basically. This is a great affiliate program. The administrators are great. The marketing tools are awesome. LinkShare is the best!

Not bad at all

I have been a member with LinkShare for just about 6 months, but haven’t made a single cent. I don’t think I can blame LinkShare though because they have done all I can expect them to do. They have communicated my publishers’ news and promotions to me in a timely fashion, in fact LinkShare has communicated between the publishers and myself very well overall. They even offer an in house mail system.

I believe that the reason I had to shut down my site after having thousands of clicks and impressions, but no purchases may be because the traffic coming to my site wasn’t looking to buy what I was offering? Either that or my referrals were purchasing and I wasn’t getting compensated. Unfortunately I cannot compare my experiences to any other affiliate programs and I’ll never know. So on to the next idea.

A worthwile website

I tried this website a little while ago, it worked pretty well. It's great if you've got a large website that has a lot of traffic, but I myself found that it slowed my website down considerably for a little while. It's a small side effect though, it wasn't too bad.

Been with linkshare 6 mos

I'd sure like to know what you're selling with them, the few that said

they had sales. I've been with them quite a while now, had thousands of

impressions, hundreds of clicks, and not 1 person could find 5 dollars

to spend. Those clicks were 60 80 cents and even over a dollar apiece,

so I have a lot of money in and nothing to show for it. I even have cell phone apps, something very popular, still not 1 sale. I'm giving it 2 more weeks, and I'm pulling the plug. I think 500 dollars in clicks is enough. Any tips? I've advertised with all three major ppc, nothing...

Pretty good!

After I tried using Clicktosell, I was very doubtful with trying a new product but then linkshare proved to be a pretty good choice overall. I signed up as an affiliate due to the fact that I prefer to advertise and find new customers rather than just promote a business as a publisher. I found it very easy to use and the customer support made things worthwhile. I loved the layout of the site and the nice little PDF file the site allows you to download if you want to learn more. The information when I first signed up was very informative and left me with a good first impression so that is why I decided to join Linkshare and give it a shot. Good luck to everyone else who wants to give it a try!

Pretty Good Network

LinkShare is a great network for those webmasters who would like to make some more money with their website or blog. What this network does is it rounds up a bunch of offers other companies have and gives them to their publishers to promote them. From what I saw on the network they didn't have anything too exciting, just the usual offers. The offers are good and you can possibly earn even 50% per sale, if I remember right. I have stopped working with this network because there are other networks that are more professional and with more and better offers.

Linkshare is may work for you if you have a popular site

It's free to sign up. I'm not sure how I ended up joining Linkshare. I think it's because of all the marketing money to be made and Linkshare popped up in one of my searches. Because I have a blog with Google I thought it would be good to earn money by affiliate marketing. Linkshare provides all kinds of banner ads and codes I can use to put on my blog. First I had to sign up with the prospective companies and get approved before allowing me to use their banner ads. That was the easiest part. My page didn't receive many hits so checking Linkshare on a daily basis was a waste of time. If your website is popular, Linkshare could work because companies are willing to pay you up to 50 percent on the sale of an item purchased through your site.

A satisfied publisher

Linkshare is excellent and I would recommend them because I feel at ease with their system. It's easy and not a complicated site. I am excited to be affiliated with companies I normally shop at. I haven't had any issues with banners or anything since joining. I wish I had known about them awhile ago.

A great directory

I have been with Linkshare for a month now and I must say they have some of the best brand in the industry. The service is great although the response time to emails is slow, but all in all it's a great service.

Reliable Program

I would rate LinkShare right up there with Commission Junction. I found their system very usable from signing up with affiliates to posting ads. Commissions are always paid out on time. There are many affiliates to chose from so it's easy to find advertisers for any niche. One of the best!

Miss Beaucoup Bucks Guide to Making Money Online

New to affiliate marketing? Start with LinkShare

I started affiliate marketing at the beginning of this year. I had a pretty successful electronics blog that was pulling in decent traffic and I wanted to try and monetize it. I saw my competitors sites linking to affiliate IDs and asked myself "why can't I do the same thing?" Well I could and I did.

I started with LinkShare after identifying companies that had a lot of electronics at good prices (like TigerDirect.com and CompUSA.com). Quickly I learned the LinkShare had the majority of these sites in their network already. Instead of having to sign up with individual sites, I could sign up with LinkShare and simply click to apply to their affiliate program. Talk about a time saver!

Now I've built a pretty extensive affiliate business using multiple affiliate networks, but LinkShare is still the simplest and easiest to use. I have a lot of trouble deep linking to products with other networks, but LinkShare makes it really simple. When you're focused on providing good content for your own site you don't have time to figure out how to manipulate links to do what you want it to. Trust me, learn the ropes with LinkShare and the rest of your affiliate career will be a breeze.

Makes ur site slow

I used LinkWorth when I first got into promoting various things and there was only one word to describe it: slow. Granted it was decent but it made my website too slow for my taste. I thought that maybe it was just going to be slow since I had barely started but the speed never improved and I just ended giving up on LinkWorth. If you're a starter then this service is not a good way to start because you'll be wanting a lot of traffic to your site, but this service may even end up costing

you some traffic as it did for me.

Kind of a newbie...

I have been with Link Share for about 2 months. I have a lot of hits but no purchases yet. I don't really blame the company, just the economy and you are responsible for advertising, not them. Over all I like it. If you use blogger there can be a problem with certain links. Try to just do the small buttons. It does give my blog a more professional feel to it.

Better than Adsense

LinkShare is a great alternative for Google Adsense. After being banned from Google Adsense I searched for some advertisement to put on my blog. I found LinkShare. This service allows you to choose what specific ad you want. It tells you exactly what they will pay per sale. It gives you an overview of the company. I did not have this ability with Google Adsense. They accept more than one blog. The payout is great. You receive payment faster than you would with Google Adsense, and there is lesser wait time for approval time than Google Adsense. The one thing with LinkShare is the company manually approves your application, but they all approve it.

They are just okay

I belong to this and had signed up for other companies to get a percentage from sales. It didn't help me too well to keep my companies up to date on my website. I got cancelled by one company and I didn't even know it until I tried to order something. It may be the company changed policies but I know LinkShare had to be aware of this because they sponsor them on their site. I hope you have better luck.

LinkShare Good for Newbies and Certain Niches

I have been a member of LinkShare for about a year now. It appealed to me as a new blogger, since the payout threshold was only $1. Other programs are much higher. I have not done well with LinkShare, but that is more due to me not running many of their ads. For my niche, they don't have a lot. I plan on launching another site soon, though, and LinkShare has several advertisers that will fit in wonderfully. I think my results will be much better then.

A new and happy publisher

I've been with Linkshare for a short time and have already received two, albeit small, checks with them. They were deposited the other day, which now allows me to do direct deposit.

I did originally have a slight hiccup with the setting up of my LinkShare account, but that was my fault and had a wonderful and easy experience with the LinkShare staff to get it straightened out.

What those new to online affiliate marketing may not know is that it would be best to create a small website or blog around the topic (niche) you want to do affiliate marketing on. In other words, have useful information (content) for your visitors. The banner and text ads that you will add should be place subtly on your site/blog so you are not "screaming" buy buy buy! Plus, having a site/blog setup with useful content will make it much easier for companies to approve you.

Success with Linkshare

The main reason I like Link Share so much is they are so easy to use. I joined not that long ago and I feel great that I can be affiliated with some well known companies. I was very excited to see that Avon was a company they are affiliated with as I sell Avon. So it was like putting two businesses together for me! And best of all it was free to join.

A very nice affiliate directory.

All around, I'm happy with Linkshare. It's easy to navigate, and they have some of the most well known merchants around. The account settings are all very intricate, but relatively easy to understand. Everything is clearly labeled, and nothing is hard to find.

The help system is pretty nice. It's easy to use, and offers intuitive answers to problems based on the area of the site you're in.

It's definitely one of my favorite directories.

Easier to understand than CJ

I've been a member here for about four months and like the way the whole thing works as compared to Commission Junction. It would seem a lot of the advertisers here have a certain Alexa ranking requirement that is not published. It also can take quite a long time to be approved as a publisher for those advertisers that do approve you. All in all I like it better than CJ.

My biggest gripe with linkshare

Linkshare does offer some incentive offers, but the Tracking doesn't work right for it and this is another one you must update your incentive sites via CSV file, which is really annoying. (If they had proper tracking for incentive offers, they would probably be the #1 site for incentive sites).

But Linkshare does pay well for its offers and is honestly worth it because they have been around awhile and have a great reputation and pay out on time unlike a lot of other networks I know of.

LinkShare Seems to Be the Most Reliable

I've been with LinkShare for about 18 months now, and you're correct in saying so, they have the most recognizable brands in the industry! I'm now affiliated with Wal-Mart, 1800Flowers, Fingerhut, Autos. com, VistaPrint, RadioShack and so many other well known companies I can't even think of right now!

Being an affiliate of these companies including Linkshare has proven to be beneficial in terms of credibility. It's given my blog the credibility it wouldn't have had without big name banners posted throughout my blog. I also use Linkshare as my advertiser for my form of IFW! When someone visits my blog and completes an offer from one of the advertisers on my blog, I pay them just as Inbox Dollars, "Project Payday", and many other freebie sites do.

The only issue I have with LinkShare is that there are a few advertisers who haven't cashed me out yet, it's been awhile, but I'm sure they will. Other than that, no issues. The advertisers really want you to promote so they can make money and pay you for doing so, so they offer special promos for accounts that aren't as active as they would like them to be! From my experience, they're in the top few as far as affiliate sites are concerned.

Good Company but not hassle free

Link Share has an extensive list of advertisers. It works with USA and Canada. I believe UK companies are a “coming soon feature”. My experience with this company is a positive one although some companies decline you automatically for apparently no reason. Link Share is one of the largest affiliate networks in the world. Unfortunately, because of the large size of some companies, they might take long to get back to you, and you are largely unable to suggest ways in which you can better market yourself and the respective company.

New to LinkShare but seems like a good option

I have joined LinkShare about two or three days ago, it seems like a great company to join. The one downfall is that for small entrepreneurs like myself reading all this legal jargon of each company can be quite tiresome especially if in the end you do not indeed choose to sell the affiliates products. Also because of the size of the organizations they take long to respond to emails unfortunately.
