Service Description
Rackspace is a website hosting service founded and run by internet marketers and developers Patrick Condon and Dirk Elmondorf. The service provides a variety of website hosting solutions for meeting individual and business needs. This includes such things as payment integration, online storefronts and database hosting. The service is geared toward businesses, helping them to run smoothly and efficiently online.
Detailed Overview
When it comes to running a business online, whether as an addition to your offline business or as a strictly internet affair, the right web hosting is crucial. Rackspace is a web hosting service that is almost exclusively geared toward helping online businesses and internet marketers with everything that they need for their bases of operations.
Among its many services, Rackspace offers Cloud server hosting, which is offline database management. This can be helpful for businesses that want a secure place to keep their database center, so there’s no danger of losing vital information if their own systems fail. Their managed server solutions give internet business owners a solid base from which to do their business, with the flexibility that allows them to specify how they interact with the buying public.
Rackspace is not a simple hosting service, and really isn’t geared toward people who are not serious business owners or internet marketers. For this reason, they don’t just post prices for different hosting solutions on their website, but rather provide consultation for those who are interested in the service. Specific hosting plans are determined by the needs of each individual business client, and payment for service reflects this. Plans can start at slightly over $400 per month and go up from there. The service comes with the backing of a full-time support team who works closely with clients to keep their sites running smoothly and updated on a regular basis.
Reputation
Feedback on Rackspace is overwhelmingly positive. Reports are that the founders of this service, Patrick Condon and Dirk Elmondorf, are experts in the field of web hosting and it shows in how this hosting service is run. Issues are solved quickly and to client satisfaction, and hosting solutions are effectively customized to suit individual needs.
Domain "Whois"
The Whois information for a website lists the owner and their contact information. The Whois information for "Rackspace" is public which is generally a good thing. This indicates the owner of this site has nothing to hide.

Awesome web hosting for a company
I used this web-hosting last year to help build a website for my friend's company. I must say that this web-hosting is absolutely suitable for those who own a company. On my first visit there, I was immediately greeted and chatted with their Live Person customer service. It was great because they immediately recommend the right package after I described the overview of my friend's company. It cost about $600 but their services and features are beyond perfect. They will even help to build the website and it has helped me to save a lot of time. The result after 2 months of using this web hosting service was great. There is absolutely no downtime, fast access speed, and they are always glad to perform a maintenance on the new website of my friend's company at anytime. A+ for this one!

They call it "Fanatical Support" and then live up to that name
My company went through half a dozen hosting providers with varying degrees of satisfaction until we tried Rackspace. And we stopped looking because there can be nothing better. You do pay a premium - they are quite expensive - but worth every penny if you need reliability.
Uptime is simply incredible. We've had less than three seconds of Rackspace-induced downtime in the past five years.
Support is hands-down the best. They are instantly reachable by phone 24x7 and have never once failed to provide an accurate and quick answer to a question - even on some questions about products they don't even support. And, for a very reasonable fee, they will even install and support many 3rd party apps that aren't a part of their normal offerings.
Everything about them is awesome. I hope to never need another hosting provider.

For The best
I was in very desperate need of an auto responder and of course that I needed a server to host it on because I wouldn’t want my leads tracking me. So I decided to go with Rackspace hosting, and I was ready to pay the $419 for one full month until I tried calling them. I wanted to ask them a few questions before I made the big purchase but I never got through to them. I also tried to email them but there was no response, I don’t know maybe they missed my email but I just came to the conclusion that they have very bad customer service. So I ended up not paying and then I just found an auto responder that I didn’t even need a server for, so it was all for the best.

Too Slow For My AutoResponder
Rackspace offers some of the best hosting around, but unfortunately I am not using any of their servers any longer. I was on their basic 1 monthly plan for over 4 months but it was just too slow for me. I was only running my auto responder on it so I still don’t really understand why it couldn’t handle one simple thing. I have to run my auto responder 24 hours of the day and I cannot do so on my computer which is why I was paying for a server. Overall they did try to help me a couple of times, so their service must have some good to it.

Okay Service
I used Rackspace in July; I paid for the basic 1 package which cost me $419, it was very expensive but I got my moneys worth. I used their service so that I could post on craigslist with the IPs that were included in the hosting package. The package included 250 IPs but they got soft blocked by CL within a month, that is why I did not keep using the Rackspace service. They also wanted me to pay per IP which would have come out to be very expensive. I had to practically beg them for the IPs. I recommend them, but not for posting on CL because the IPs wont last longer than a month.

Great if you have the money
This web hosting service can be expensive, but it is definitely worth every single penny if you are trying to run a serious business. The web hosting is superb with absolutely no downtime which is essential for running a business website, and the support is amazing. They are quick responders and offer help for pretty much any issue. The support team is patient, and I found it pleasing working with them. My clients have all been pleased with how their websites and databases were working after setup and loved how easy they were to manage due to this great hosting. A+ recommendation to anyone with the right budget.

Serious for businesses
I used Rackspace in order to help get my ebay business started. I was able to get a website and everything else I would have possibly needed for my business. This service seemed to have it all. I actually have no complaints about Rackspace.
I used Rackspace for nearly four months and sold many items on my site. I was very pleased with not only the service they offered, but also everything they offered. I was able to receive as much help as I needed with my site and service.
What pleased me the most about Rackspace is that it actually worked for me. I have seen very few services that could do so much for its users.
The only reason I left Rackspace and closed my account was due to the lack of time I had after switching to full time at my job.
There is a great possibility that in the future I will return to Rackspace when looking for a good hosting service to start my business again. I recommend Rackspace for individuals who are serious about their business and are looking for something that works. A+.

Rackspace is the best hosting I've ever used
I've been using Rackspace for my hosting for about a year now. Even though it is set mostly for businesses, it still works very well for regular website hosting. I still use it now to host all of my websites and blogs. The price is really high, but if you can provide that much money a month it is well worth it. Trust me you will not be disappointed with the results you get from this site.
In the year I have been using Rackspace I have had no complaints at all. Their site and navigation is easy to use and is always up and running perfectly. Their support is always very helpful and will get back to you with a solid answer within twenty four hours. Their server speeds are just unbelievable. I've never had a problem with my sites crashing or loading slow. They are always running at 100% thanks to Rackspace's great hosting team. I suggest to anyone who has the money to spend to pick Rackspace for their hosting company because they simply are the best, and you will never have any complaints or problems that support won't willing you help you with.
