SaleHoo Description

SaleHoo is one of the most well known wholesale directories on the Internet. The site is a resource for Internet marketers that are looking to sell products on eBay or want to add products to their ecommerce store. It is a great resource to find new markets and also to expand your product line.

SaleHoo Detailed Overview

There is so much talk about SaleHoo. It is probably one of the better known than any other wholesale directory due to the heavy promotion over the years. The directory has thousands of suppliers from liquidators, importers, dropshippers, and a helpful forum to make sense out this huge resource.

Upon signing up, I found every kind of product from electronics, clothing, accessories, entertainment, to personal care. According to SaleHoo, their products have some of the best profit margins. This is a claim that most directories claim so you have to really do your due diligence and research before you put up a product to sell.

The site pretty much just lists the distributors by category and you will have to work with them individually. There isn’t a strong credibility check so you will have to talk with them and start small in order to find out if the distributor is reliable. I only wish there was better education on selling these products online as it would really help a lot of beginners.

You can search through thousands of distributors by category and sub categories. You can also decide to sort the results out by the country. Of course, there is a search tool you can use. What I liked about their search tool is that you can search dropshippers only, wholesalers only, liquidators only, or by manufacturers only.

Once you find what you want, you’ll get to see the location, if there’s international shipping available, the type of shipping methods, minimum order requirement, and Tax ID requirement. You will also get the product information and get reviews from members of SaleHoo. I really like that you can add individual manufacturers to your favorites and build a rolodex for future reference.

One feature I appreciated was the proof of profits feature where there are examples of eBay items being sold for a profit. You can also get great deals on manufacturers offering sales on various items. The support SaleHoo provides is also top notch. There were problems several years before but it seems that they have addressed it.

SaleHoo Reputation

In final, SaleHoo is very solid wholesale resource. It’s received positive reviews from customers and eBay experts. Many people have said that SaleHoo’s learning curve is steeper than it looks. There are plenty of cases where items that would seem profitable would actually end up in the red after auction expenses and shipping costs. If you’re planning to use SaleHoo, the only thing you have to make sure is that your research is solid as sometimes the profit margins are not as big as you’d expect on some products.

Great for finding products for cheap

I use ebay A LOT and I've been having trouble finding products for cheap to resell and this website is useful! I've been able to find products for cheap to resell for a couple more dollars in my wallet. Ive been able to make about 100 dollars a month.

One of the best forums and education sections on wholesaling

They have one of the best forums and education sections on wholesaling and eCommerce but if you're looking for products that you can simply list on eBay and make ton of money, Salehoo is not the best place to start as they don't list or carry any products and only provide contact information of the wholesalers and you have to contact them for pricing and exact models and this requires some research and effort. They started offering online stores so if you have established product sourcing strategy you can use their software to build and manage your online store, software is pretty flexible and easy to customize.

eCommerce tools I use:

Terapeak | Hammertap | Worldwide Brands | Doba | Salehoo

A good resource list

Salehoo is a good resource list of wholesalers, distributors, drop shippers. I can personally vouch for this since I had the chance to work with them part-time for awhile. The list is not simply gathered off of websites or people recommendations. Salehoo basically assigns people to check out a person or a company, tries an actual purchase, does research on a person or company's credibility. Yes, they actually spend to make sure that the wholesalers, drop shippers really do deliver.

But at the end of the day it's simply a resource list. You need to do your personal due diligence as some of them are really just out to scam people. Salehoo can't determine that and holds no responsibility for that, as some would pretend to be the real deal for a time and simply vanish off from the face of the earth.

But for the product that Salehoo is, I would highly recommend it.

Have a break from all the money making thoughts and avail of our service for fun.

Pretty Lame Service

I have tried all of these so-called drop ship companies and Salehoo is no different. They don't really stock any products. They are a virtual warehouse --sort of a middleman. They buy from real wholesalers and resell to you. By the time you get to eBay, the price is too high to sell and make any money.

I put a total of 22 products on eBay and only 1 of them sold ( a divers watch) and after fees I only made $2 for all of my work. I found the same watch from a real wholesaler for $14 less than Salehoo was charging.

Salehoo is not the best out there

When I was looking to fill my e commerce store I looked at Salehoo. First of all, the products that they have listed in there are not inexpensive at all. It would be hard to make a profit and still offer the merchandise to the customer at a reasonable price. The other part is that I did not like the fee I had to pay either. Salehoo had a lot of merchandise, just that the prices were not good enough for me to build my store on. If you don't have a lot of time to get started on your own store, then I would recommend that you try Salehoo. If you have the time, then research individual drop shippers for the items that you want to sell and sign up directly with them.

Sale Hoo is not all it's cracked up to be

I used to engage in the buying and selling of mobile phone devices. I saw an advertisement for SaleHoo and thought it would give me some excellent wholesale resources on where I could buy my items to make a larger profit. Well to me SaleHoo is a misleading website that is full of deception and they just want you to sign up and pay for a membership so that can make more profit. But the truth of the matter is, that the companies on Sale Hoo can be found anywhere on the internet just by searching them out. There is not exclusive or special about the companies that are listed on Sale Hoo but that is what their website says. Furthermore majority of the companies on SaleHoo are not US based companies which puts you at even more of a risk of loosing your money and/or product. I canceled my membership and I won't ever sign up with this site again.

Salehoo.com great source for the online business entreprenuer

I decided to sign up with SaleHoo after reading many positive reviews about it. It has a great list of dropshippers and some wholesalers. But don't expect to just pay the money and have all the information on what to do next just handed to you. You have to read up on all the information and your still going to need to invest in merchandise to sell. I love how there's so much information on dropshipping because then you don't have to invest money into something that may not sell. This is a great source for someone who wants to start an online business or sell on ebay. But buying this information isn't going to give you loads of income overnight.

Dropshipping service

Joined SaleHoo around late 2006 in hopes of making some money on Ebay. Then I found out the sale prices were not much lower than the competing powerseller prices on Ebay, not including Ebay fees and Paypal fees. I did not feel the value was all that great when calculating the profits you would be making. The only plus to me was it was a source of products, but the price of getting the product was not a great discount to me. I had tried a few others like this and had no success, this produced the same result.

Not for Newbies

When I started selling on eBay I was interested in buying products wholesale for inventory, but had no idea where to start. While reading an eBay blog, the author was promoting and suggesting Salehoo. I decided to check it out. Being new to the eBay scene I found it to be a bit much to take in and figure out, and whereas I was more interested in just wholesalers, much of SaleHoo's focus seemed to be with dropshipping. I was not interested in dropshipping at all. If you have a grasp on eBay or merchant selling and are looking for a comprehensive place for dropshipping and wholesalers, SaleHoo is a great place to look. I would recommend newbies get their feet wet a little before investing in SaleHoo.

Great if you want to be an eBay power seller

I purchased the SaleHoo membership after reading a promotional e-mail from "The Rich Jerk". This service is perfect for the people who have some resources for packaging, mailing and forwarding and want to make it big through eBay. Some Asian countries like China and Japan have made tremendous growth in sectors like electronics and manufacturing. You can get products from these countries at a lower price and then you can sell them at huge profit. Though this method requires some work, it can be highly profitable at times. I am not big on eBay selling now but I have made considerable money from it in the past thanks to the guidance I received from "SaleHoo".

Don't be too swayed by reviews...

Salehoo.com has been getting ripped apart by reviewers online, but be aware of the fact that many (not all) reviews came from Salehoo.com's stiff competition and this war of words has resulted in nastiness. Salehoo.com is a solid place to do e-bay business and the forum is very useful. However, Salehoo.com is not for rank beginners; it does have a steeper learning curve and expects that you know something about the business of buying and selling online before you join. (Though the free literature can help you get better if you are a newcomer.) You should take an objective look at this site before deciding whether to join, not just the reviews.

Trying to help people with unbiased and honest opinions on goods and services because there's nothing worse than a biased and blatantly spammy review!
