Text Link Ads Description

Text Link Ads is a link brokering network co-founded by Patrick Gavin and Bill Fish. The company has a network of over 40,000 publishers interested in selling text links to advertisers and big companies. Their service helps publishers monetize their websites and help advertisers get traffic and build backlinks to increase their search engine optimization rankings.

Text Link Ads Detailed Overview

There are two aspects of using the Text Link Ads service – one is as a publisher and the other is as an advertiser. Publishers will want to use TLA to make money from their sites and advertisers will want to promote their products and services. TLA is also used for businesses that use SEO to get traffic and need links to increase rankings.

Let’s talk about the advertiser side first. When you open your account, you’ll be able to browse through categories that are related to yours. After choosing the category, you come up with the keyword you want your anchor text to be and choose to have your link on one page or sitewide. I highly recommend the one page option (I’ll reveal why later). From there your link will be put up in the site(s) you chose within a couple of days and you will be charged a monthly for as long as you want to run them.

The text link advertisements are either put into a sponsored link area of a website or what’s called InLink Ads. The InLink Ads are links that are placed within the content rather than placed like a sponsored link. I prefer InLink Ads because anchor texts within related content give more value to the link. If you want an example of how well this works, Wikipedia and similar sites uses the same in-content links to get multiple pages ranked highly in the search engines.

I personally work with a client that uses TLA to boost their search engine rankings, so I have experience with their service. When you are getting started in using TLA, it can be a hit or miss situation. Sometimes your links will be placed on pages you didn’t want and sometimes the link count will not be updated right away. For example, if you buy 30 links, you may only see 10 links being counted in Yahoo. The best way to go about this is to talk to customer service as they are helpful in getting you set up correctly to and offer refunds if the problem can’t be resolved.

I mentioned why you should get your links put on individual pages instead of sitewide. Because the search engines do not favor the sale of text links (to artificially boost rankings), they are trying to track down on webmasters using these kinds of services. Buying a sitewide link is a huge giveaway that you’re buying text links. After all, it simply doesn’t look natural when 100 pages of a website are linked to you. Alternatively, sitewide is a great way to advertise your products and services as you can get your ads on sites with an audience that fits your business.

After you get your links count updated on the search engines you want and get the metrics of your advertising campaign, you can build on this and really ramp up your SEO or advertising campaign. You’ll see the results by looking at your ROI figures or following your rankings in the search engines. This is when TLA becomes a great value to your business.

Now I want to talk about TLA’s service as a publisher. If you have a site that gets good traffic, has solid content, and has PR of at least 2, you can apply as a publisher to sell links on your site. If you are approved, all you have to do is follow their instructions and integrate the code on your site. Just choose how many links you want to display. People who already have many sites in the search engines will see the best results from TLA.

When an advertiser buys a link on your site, you will split the revenue with them. The text links placed on your site will be static to help search engine rankings. The one bad thing about the system is that getting advertisers can take some time and the text link widget is left blank until somebody buys links on your site. I wish TLA gave you some way to monetize this space until advertisers come in.

Text Link Ads Reputation

Overall, Text Link Ads is a great service for both advertisers and publishers. There are bigger risks for advertisers as you will have to carefully choose the right category and sites. It will also take some time to get your campaigns rolling and you may lose some money in the beginning before you start to see results. You also have to remember that you risk being penalized in the search engines for buying links.

I think TLA’s program for publishers is a great way to monetize your site. My biggest complaint about using TLA as a publisher is the payout. You are paid anywhere from $10-$50 depending on the PR and traffic your site gets, and the editors of TLA determine how much you get paid per link. TLA also earns 50% of the commission, which I think it a bit high compared to other similar ad networks. I have heard many webmasters selling links on their own with success instead of using TLA as a broker because of their fees. I think mixing in both methods of monetization is ideal and is something you should pursue.

Text Links Ads Scam their Publisher

This statement is based on my experience using text links ads.

They are cool. They pay me every month. Although I only received a few bucks from my website with 2 or 3 advertisers. For your information my site has good page rank on internet. I wonder why they pay me so little and I'm curios why I cannot view my site on advertiser page.

Just now I make a new fake account, I register as advertiser, I'm very shocked because my web price is higher than my earnings, more than 70% of my earnings. I view their frequently asked question page.

What is the revenue share of any ads sold?

---------------------------------------------

We feature a 50/50 net revenue split for all ads sold. We handle serving, scheduling, billing, customer service, and sales.

This is ridiculous and scam. I can't believe that I joined this site a few months ago. I only get a few buck from this site. I no longer trust this website. I'm not going to join this site anymore.

Good earning palce for publisher

I have joined text link ads since five months ago. I am the publisher of them and I have twice received the payment from them. There was significant increases every month. From my experience I have a few tips before you submit your web/blog into the text-link-ads.

Select the category that best suits the content of your blog/web, give a clear and complete description, then input the appropriate keyword as much as possible to be easily found by the advertisers. Check page rank of your web/blog, because the minimum page rank that usually is accepted is page rank of 4 and above, put ads on your web/blog in a place that is always viewed by the advertiser,

but I think the advertisers do not choose a web/blog with huge traffic, but the most important for them is the blog/web have a good page rank.

Text Link Ads-Reject For Now

I signed up to use Text Link Ads as I thought it would be a sure way of making money. However, I was denied due to too little traffic and for already containing text link adds. I plan to continue writing and try again in about 30 days or so.

TLA is one of my favorite services

I've been using Text Link Ads for almost a year and it's one of my favorite services.

First, I set up the code one time and do nothing else. Easy.

Second, on the first day of every month, I get a deposit in my PayPal account. For doing nothing.

Third, the links are unobtrusive. They don't pop up an annoying window over your site to slow readers down.

The drawbacks are, as others have said, that TLA only works if you have a good ranking and good traffic. Which makes sense, since the advertisers want actual traffic generation and click-throughs, even though your pay isn't based directly on them.

If you have a more substantial site with reasonable traffic, I highly recommend Text Link Ads for easy, dependable monthly payments.

Paid Link Service - Not Too Bad

Text Link Ads is a good place to sell links from your blog to make a bit of cash to help with your hosting costs. I was able to sell some links on Text Link Ads pretty quick after joining. They accepted my blog with no problems, and I was able to make some money pretty quickly.

If you want to get the most out of Text Link Ads, keep in mind you will need a page rank of 3 or higher to get any real offers. If you are below a page rank of 3 you can still give them a try, but you will have more success with a higher page rank.

Text Link Ads will make the decision on how much you will be paid per link, depending upon your page rank, Alexa traffic rank, back links and so on. Text Link Ads pays with Paypal, which makes it easy for bloggers who are accustomed to this payment method.

My only real complaint with Text Link Ads is adding these links to your page will not sit well with Google, and many bloggers have lost their page rank because of using this and other services that sell links. This can be a real drag for blog owners, and it did happen to me and all the offers from Text Link Ads quickly dried up. Not everyone who uses Text Link Ads gets punished by Google. Also the links are not permanent, so you will be able to take them off after the time specified.

Text Link Ads is a great way to make some money fast, although it may not be good for the future of your blog. I would recommend it for those who aren't making any money anyhow and would like to see some success in their marketing endeavors.

Its good for SEO

There are not that many places you can rent quality, diverse types of links with different profiles, than TLA.

You can use this to add variety to the kinds of links you're site has.

For example some sites types of backlinks are just impossible to get on your own and other whitehat methods. TLA fills this gap, by making my sites more rounded. Backlinks like social bookmarks and other common ones, look better (in the eyes of google) with the types of links you can rent from TLA.

I've Gotten Good Results. But It Has Dwindled

I signed up my two sites with PR with them three months back, and there are a couple of links on each of them right now, so I can say that they are good to me. Their site navigation is great, I was able to find my way around and did the requirements easily for me to start accepting text links. I get my monthly pay on time through PayPal, which is great, and although they're not big amounts, every bit helps nowadays. I noticed, however, that there are no offers for my sites lately. I don't know if that's just the general trend or if it's just my sites, so I asked around and found my friends to be in the same situation. Now I guess I just have to be patient in waiting for new text link offers that I can put up in my sidebars, and make do with what I am currently getting from them, and focus on building my PR even higher.

Not a good one

The first time I saw their website layout, all the features they provide and also their prospect, I thought that this is going to be my dollar field. Actually the method is simple; you just need to sell space on your blog so people who want to put their link on your blog have to pay you some dollars. But things became different when my blog had been approved by the admin. I had waited for one month, but I still got no offer from any advertisers. I don’t know what’s going on with my blog. I have a PR 3 blog, but no one is interested to buy links from my space. Thus I didn’t like Text Link Ads; I prefer to sell my link space to direct advertisers rather than to sell it through Text Link Ads.

Text Link Ads

I like Text Link Ads because you can earn monthly by just posting their links on your sidebar, yes links and not the big banners which you can only earn through clicks.

How to get advertisers is the problem. Well, if you have a niche blog with a high traffic site and with PR then advertisers will come pouring in. So make sure you always update your account with your tags and keywords so prospective clients will take a peek at your blog.

The downside is that since Google doesn't like too many outgoing links in a blog or website, your pagerank suffers. So if you don't want that, then I don't think this one is for you, otherwise, it's a good source of passive income.

Good overall, but your SERPs may suffer

I've been using Text Link Ads on one of my sites for almost a year now, and my overall impression of them is good. They pay on time, and they do a good job of procuring advertisers for my site. The site in question is a proxy list site, so the traffic is fairly generalized and low grade, but TLA managed to keep around five ad spots filled out of the ten available. The ad prices are less than I would like, but given the nature of my traffic, that is to be expected.

I found that after adding TLA ads, my site's pagerank went from a steady PR4, down to PR3 - where it has since stayed. Traffic has actually risen since then, with a high proportion of search traffic, but I have also added a lot of new content to the site, so it's hard to calculate whether using TLA has had a real world effect on the search engine traffic potential of my site. My suspicion is that it has had a detrimental effect, and that I would be better off removing TLA ads - which is probably what I will be doing.

I Love This

Text Link Ads is a very good website which really pays. I am a member of this site and I can say that they pay fairly to their members. But the tricky part is, your website has to be well-furnished, have a high page rank, and should have high traffic. I really recommend this for bloggers who have many visitors because they do not base on cost-per-click. They give a fixed amount for the advertisements which I think, is pretty good for the bloggers.

I was given 2 opportunities with this when I was just a newbie but when my page rank subsided, I really wasn't able to get opportunities from them. Good thing my page rank now is back and I got one from them.

Confusing, choosy.

This is by far one of the worst sites I tried applying to. A year ago, I applied here and got rejected for about 3 times with my Blogger blog. Now, this May I came back to try again with my new blog in Wordpress Platform, however they reject it again. Then I resubmit my Blogger blog since it has a new URL and it was finally approved! But the problem was, their installation with the code for Blogger platform confused me! I haven't heard from them ever since, although I checked a month ago and saw it says my blog was active in their market. That was weird because I never got anything word from them at all.

This is definitely not for websites with low traffic and PR. Believe me.

Try this if your site has a decent PR

"Text Link Ads" provides you an extra earning opportunity if your site has good page rank. I have placed their links on two of my sites and now they are earning an extra $120 for me.

Though this type of advertising may not be so beneficial to you particularly if you are getting a lot of traffic to your site and placing too many outgoing links may also reduce your page rank.

Overall I am satisfied with "Text Link Ads" and they have provided me extra cash just for placing the links.

Definitely NOT for Newbies.

As the two other commenters above me mentioned, Text Link Ads (TLA) requires that your site has a decent enough amount of traffic before you can get offers from advertisers there. Fortunately for me (and unfortunately for my Page Rank, as TLA was the reason why my PR3 was taken away from me), I already had decent traffic when I applied, so I immediately got two offers, both of which wowed me, being a newbie and all back then.

Unlike other pay-per-click advertising programs, TLA pays me a fixed amount of money whether or not my readers are interested in the links or not. So every month I got a pretty good cash out from them. I have no TLA at my site at the moment (just in case you bothered to look) as the advertisers have withdrawn already after months, so I am still waiting for new offers. But hey, I've had my fair share of income from them and I know more will come, so I'm in no hurry. Overall, I like the program because it's unobtrusive, it pays well and it doesn't ask so much in return.

Don't sign up if you are just starting

I signed up thinking I could get some money from my website, boy was I wrong. When you sign up you have to fill out a form and TLA will go and see if your site fits their requirements. Unfortunately for me, they said I need to get more traffic to my site. Well needless to say I am a little discouraged but I am not get to give up just yet. Then one thing this site can push you to do is make your site better and increase your traffic.

I would recommend this site to experienced website owners, who have had a lot of traffic circulating through out the website. If you are new at this then you will get the same message I got. So I suggest you get your traffic rating up before you sign up with this site.

You need lots of traffic to get in

I had just tried using Adsense on my sites when I came across TLA, and this was several years ago. While Adsense will immediately give you the ads when you get approved, TLA checks your traffic before they approve you and new sites need not apply. I consider ads to be part of the service I offer and not just as a way of monetizing my website; if someone finds something he wants to buy, then it should be a good experience for him or her and that makes me want to make my website better and more attractive.

I would not recommend TLA to newbies needing monetization. If they do eventually get the traffic, I think it would be better to promote products from the other sites which pay better. I have used many sites for monetizing my websites, and I realize that traffic is what you need to get any kind of income from the Net, but I have to say Text Link Ads is not on my list.
