Vertical Response is a web based email marketing solution. You can set up email campaigns for your Internet business, follow up with customers, and manage a newsletter. The San Francisco based company is known for their wide range of templates, great campaign reporting, and competitive pricing. Let’s look at what’s inside this particular service.
Vertical Response Detailed Overview

I started by setting up an account with Vertical Response. The service lets you personalize emails, add custom fields, and create follow up messages for your email marketing campaigns. The service manages your email subscribes, CAN SPAM compliancy, email bounces like other services so you don’t come across any issues when subscribers complain.

The email creation tool is really helpful. You can use regular text email, use the email wizard to create stunning newsletter templates, or use your own HTML code. The big advantage Vertical Response offers is the 75000 stock images, free image hosting, hosted emails, and over 500 templates you can use. The stock images and templates were really helpful in creating a high quality newsletter.

Vertical Response allows for list segmentation as well. You can group people who’ve responded and those who haven’t responded across many campaigns. This allows you to target the people who are actively reading what you send out to them. This feature can also be used to reemail those who have not responded.

What makes Vertical Response also unique is that they offer online surveys and direct response postcards. You can set up professional surveys and collect data to better serve your customers. If you manage to collect the address of your leads, you can use that with the postcard creation tool to roll out direct marketing campaigns.

I was impressed by the tracking and reporting. You can view your results in a easy to read bar graph and accompanying data. You can view opens, clicks, bounces, unsubscribes, forwards, conversions, sales, and those who haven’t responded. The email campaign comparison feature is really helpful in determining what works.

Vertical Response has relationships with the major ISPs, email service providers, and coalitions. They also use SenderID, DomainKeys, SPF, and DKIM so their service is authenticated to send out emails. There’s a spam trigger tool to help you avoid phrases and words that send your mail to the bulk folder as well.

As for customer support, you can reach their department through email, phone, and live chat. I had no problems getting help from their staff and they were very quick to respond to any requests. There is a great knowledgebase, blog, and community. I did feel that there weren’t as much tutorials as I wanted.

The pricing is pretty flexible as well. It costs $10 a month to manage 500 subscribers, $28a month for 2000 subscribers, $46 a month for 4000, $72 for 8000, and $120 for 16000. I did notice that when you build a lot of subscribers, Vertical Response is a lot more expensive than other companies.

Vertical Response Reputation

In final, Vertical Response is a solid email marketing service. It’s received great reviews from customers and established businesses alike. The Postcard Creation tool and surveys are really helpful for those that want to hone in on their customers or expand their marketing campaigns offline. The interface is harder to use than others and there are less features but Vertical Response is still highly recommended.

Total Scam

After signing up to this service and reading their terms of service in it's entirety I felt safe in uploading my complete client email list with over 20,000 email addresses of my own customer base. I constructed an email to be sent and awaited their approval. My message was in complete compliance with their terms of service and they denied my message, saying it did not comply. I consider this company to be nothing more than scammers attempting to gather email address for their own gain. I guess they just collect them and sell to the highest bidder. Most likely your own competitors. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR EMAIL LIST.

This company RIPPED us off!

We purchased 100,000 Email credits for $750 in order to promote our company without having to constantly repurchase email credits. In the first year, we used fewer than 20,000 of these credits and BAM, we were informed our credits were expired. This was NEVER mentioned in the purchase agreement when we bought the credits. We have filed a complaint with the BBB. We recommend you find someone else to do your business with.

There is so many advantages to integrating this service into your marketing campaigns. First, this system fully manages your email subscribers and can group the people that have responded to your emails apart from people who don't respond and send them more emails in the future. Second, this system allows you to send out professional surveys and collect data on a bar graph. I was very impressed by the tracking and reporting system and how easy the tools were to use. Third, this service enables one to collect the addresses of customer leads and you can set up exclusive, direct marketing campaigns tailored for the people who are interested in your products. Fourth, this service gets rid of the "junk" words which sends emails directly to junk folders and gets rid of spam compliance. Finally, this program utilizes free hinge hosting, hosted emails and you can choose from over 500 different email templates.

Fantastic and simple

I love the Vertical Response Wizard! This is an amazing website. Currently I am only a free trial member, but advertising couldn't get any more simple with this website. This is the best site I have ever tried to advertise with. I have so many options with Vertical Response, like I can make automatic email notifications, surveys for customers, postcards and calendars, all advertising my business and what I'm selling. My number of views from potential customers have really increased. I have not as of yet customized a logo for my company, so with the Vertical Response wizard I was able to customize my emails with the free business templates they offered me, so that was great and easy.

I would most definitely recommend Vertical Response to anyone who is looking for a new professional look and way to advertise their business.

Best Pay As You Go Email Marketing

I've used Vertical Response for over 3 months now and it has been a very good experience. My first try of their service is for a 30 day trial with 200 credits. Then after I have used up the credits, I opted to purchase another 75 but received 150 because of their existing promo at that time. And there's nothing that can beat that, I paid $1.13 only.

This is actually one of the reasons why I like Vertical Response's service. They have very good promotions and their email - pay as you go scheme works perfectly for me since I only have a few in my mailing lists.

So far, I have a total of 4 campaigns using Vertical Response service. I created my own template which was fairly easy compared to the rather complicated email brain setup.

The link tracking and reporting was also a very good inclusion to the package. Overall, if you are looking for an affordable email marketing, I won't have any second thoughts of giving a thumbs up recommendation for them.
