Wholesale Portal is a membership site that helps you locate products to sell. The site is a source to get ideas, conduct market research, and find products you can resell for profits. The site is run by Sean Clark who has a reputation for finding quality products and offering value for his customers.
Detailed Overview
So you want to set up an online store, maybe you even want to sell products on eBay. But where are you supposed to look? Wholesale Portal is a membership site that solves this problem. It provides you access to a huge list of dropshippers and liquidators that hold products you can resell for huge profits.
The biggest benefit of using the site will be the ability to find vendors who will dropship products for you. This means that you won’t have to store a product, buy it, or ship it. When somebody orders a product, you can just notify and pay the dropshipper and they will handle the rest.
Okay so let’s talk about the site itself. When you first login, the there will be two directories separated by different categories. You can also use a search engine to find what you’re looking for. I found the search capabilities and categories found what I was looking for without any problems.
After digging around for a bit, I checked out several wholesale sites and compared them to eBay listings that were already getting bids. In this case, I chose electronics because they’re one of the popular categories on eBay. I found several video games that could get me a $5-10 profit after eBay expenses and fees.
From experience I found out that you shouldn’t use the list price the wholesalers recommend to you. You should do some research and see what other sellers are pricing their products and what price the auctions are ending at. By thinking about the eBay/shipping expenses and making adjustments you can then calculate what your margins are going to be.
I’m impressed by Wholesale Portal. I’ve gotten a good list of products that I can sell for a profit. Sometimes the challenge isn’t if you can sell it for a profit but how you’re going to do it. Some products have tons of competition on eBay and the search engines.
In addition to the wholesalers, you will also get access to a huge list of liquidators. This is different from dropshipping as you will have to pay for the products beforehand. However, the discounts are much greater since you will be buying in bulk.
Market research is very important if you’re buying from liquidators as you don’t want to end up with a product that doesn’t sell. I recommend trying to sell the products you find beforehand to get an idea of the volume then make the appropriate order. You can offer your customers some kind of discount or bonuses for the shipping delay.
Reputation
All in all, I really like Wholesale Portal. Their list is on par with other sites that give you a list of wholesalers. You do have to spend many hours comparing prices and figuring out your margins but that is obvious when you’re working with wholesalers.
The membership has gotten good reviews from customers. In addition to the database, you also get a wholesaler site, free website, eBay guides, and wholesale books. I found the sites and books very basic but it can come in really handy for beginners. If you’re looking for products to sell online, Wholesale Portal is a great place to look.
Domain "Whois"
The Whois information for a website lists the owner and their contact information. The Whois information for "Wholesale Portal" is public which is generally a good thing. This indicates the owner of this site has nothing to hide.

Wholesale-Portal is a scam
After I paid this online company for my subscription, I couldn't even get a hold of them to return my money. I tried several times, but no contact. I made copies of the email from them. They first introduced to me their wholesale items of over 1 million products on April 8,2009, 12:10am, by email. It sounds so good, I decided to join, so I paid my subscription via paypal, the amount of $37.97, on April 10th, 2009,12:27pm. I regret to say that I lost $37.97.
Thanks and beware Whole-Portal.com is a scam.

Wholesale-Portal is great!
Wholesale-Portal is great! They provide the necessary resources and tools needed to get started with eBay. Thanks to them, I have an eBay Store that is averaging a minimum of $250 per week, and I am in the process of setting up my own automated wholesale web site (using from "Wholesale-Portal sister site")... which will hopefully bring in an additional income.
I honestly see this site as a blessing, as my husband has been diagnosed with a chronic illness, and now has to "retire" from his job. So my eBay store and 9-5 job has been more than enough to take care of the two of us :-) Thanks WholesalePortal!

Easy and high profit
Thanks to the WholeSale portal I've earned over $300 so far. The ease of use thanks to the overview and the extensive documentation on how to use has really convinced me. Finding some shops has been real easy for me. I just put the price a bit higher than what they're asking in those shops and people don't seem to really care.
It took me some time to figure out the prices that gave me the most profit, but after a week of tweaking the prices things started to pay off. Questions I had have been answered by the WholeSale team extremely fast thanks to their live chat. If you're into buying and selling business or just want a big webshop with a variety of goods like me, this might be the application for you.

Very nice for Ebay shops
This is a nice site for finding products you can easily sell for profit. I opened a store on eBay using Wholesale Portal and made profits of over 15$ on electronics. Because of the nice going rates of the products and high demands, you can easily adjust your prices to the current market. Naturally you need to find the right things and do a little bit of research on your own, and don't fully rely on Wholesale Portal, because it can always have flaws. So I would definitely recommend this site, but only if used with proper thinking! Make sure you always check up on things before setting them in action!

Pretty Nice Service
I used this site with a friend while we were trying to run an eBay store and it worked very well. We used Wholesale Portal as mainly a way to research what products we should sell and how much profit we could potentially make. Unfortunately we had to take a break from doing it because of other commitments hopefully we can get back into it soon. Anyways very good service.
